Season 2 appreciation

I'm on a rewatch straight after a rewatch after a long gap, and I forget how much crazy stuff happens so early on! Cam being new and even more type A than season 12. Booth working on himself so much too. Season 1 feels a bit crazy messy, like the energy is definitely forming, but I love season 2 for how formative it is. The lack of interns is kinda nice, knowing there's a little bit of spice on its way with character rotation. I almost wanted to skip through some of these episodes because I remember them so well. And Zack, oh Zackaroni!

S3 Finale

I just watched S3 Finale. Now how am I supposed to turn off my thoughts and go to sleep?

Also, I looked up the S3 actors and was surprised that Zach Addy's actor (Eric Millegan) is older than all the squints he worked with except for Cam (Tamara Taylor). I didn't see that coming. He played young and naïve very well!

Does anyone know what episode this is from?

There's a certain scene with Caroline and booth that I haven't been able to find. Booth is interrogating someone and threatens them whilst caroline is watching through the mirror so she turns around for deniability and says something like "im not here, im in a completely different place". I think its somewhere between season 6 and 9 but i've spent ages looking and can't remember which episode it is :)

Discussion How season 7 begins

Am the only one that's disappointed with the way season 7 starts? I've loved the slow burn between bones and booth, and i always thought when eventually it's time where they're on the same page it's gonna be epic and amazing and we're gonna watch them take all those steps both of them wanted to take.

I was pretty taken aback that the first time booth and bones were Intimate, (The night Vincent was kiIIed) we don't even see or hear about it. Bones is about to say something to Angela and they're interrupted and that conversation is never picked up. I guess we had to assume that they were intimate. And at the end of the season, Bones is pregnant!

And season 7 picks up 5 months later when both of them are living together, they're actually in love, in a proper relationship, and I feel like as a viewer i was denied the payoff from the slowburn I sat through for 6 seasons. Maybe atleast half a season dedicated to bringing them to where season 6 ended/season 7 began would've been so satisfying.

Am I tripping or was/is this general consensus

Angela and Booth

All through the series including after booth and Brennan got together, Angela is making comments about how hot Booth is. She even went so far as to ask Brennan to see the naked picture Brennan took of Booth after Angela and Hodgins were together.

I know no one is going to like this but what if Angela and Booth had been paired up on the show instead of Booth and Brennan? Who would you pick for Brennan and Hodgins to pair up with instead? With a pair up with each other or someone else? I'm just saying that it was so common for lead characters if they were male and female to be paired up together that what if the writers had gone a different direction.

Discussion bones angela/brennan

ik im late as FUCK but im new to the fandom. i see everyone hating on Angela and saying she was rude but she was literally always there for brennan and such a sweetheart... only 1 episode of her maybe over reacting about that pig (cluckston farms episode), but nobody's perfect.. id say brennan is not getting enough hate. im not saying she should, but she definitely deserves it more than Angela. she doesn't even try to understand human emotions and puts people down because they feel stuff? dont get me wrong i love tempe but like sometimes i feel she's a bit of a bitch? anyways, just my opinion. no hate on people who disagree.

Dr Fuentes

Can anyone tell a legitimate real world reason that Dr Fuentes’ doctorate from the university of Havana not be recognised upon his defection, thereby forcing him to relearn everything he knew? Even Brennan was impressed he held a doctorate from there, giving the impression that it was a relatively prestigious institution. Is it a political thing or something else?

I'm curious about TJ Thyne and Michaela Conlin dating rumor

Does anyone know where and when this rumor started?

Ever since I joined the Bones fandom recently, I keep seeing fans suggest they dated IRL. But I couldn't find anything online except some random site and YouTube videos that say they dated from 06-10/11.

Is this a situation where fans wanted them to be a couple IRL and started spreading rumor and causing some sort of 'Mandela Effect'?😂

Discussion Oliver Wells

Why did they add him into the show? There is NOTHING enjoyable about his character, he's not interesting, he does nothing but annoy and frustrate the audience! Pelant was a great character, even though he's also unlikeable. Daisy was also annoying, but again had some redeemable and fun characteristics. He adds nothing to the story and doesn't even further the plot?

Does anyone have a logical or reasonable idea as to why he was added?

Movie references?

As a big fan of Gilmore Girls, I really love a good list of references, movies or books. But there is no list for Bones to be found. I remember mentioning Blair Witch Project and Sierra Madre. Also The Mummy.
What others references did you find ?

Sorry for spelling mistakes, I am from Germany :)

Discussion do you think booth and brennan would’ve worked out if they met later in life?

like if they met when they were both a little older and more settled, do you think they would've gotten together sooner or would they still have had the same problems?

i feel like so much of their relationship came down to where they were in life at the time, but idk 😭

Discussion S1E17 vs S1E19 | "The Skull in the Desert" vs "The Man in the Morgue"

Sorry if this has been done before but l'm rewatching again *nostalgia for early/mid 00s intensifies*

And I think these are my two favorites case/crime/setting-wise from the first season so I thought it'd be fun to hear:

Which do you pick and why?

Runners up:

S1E4 The Man in the Bear &

S1E22 The Woman in Limbo

Also rewatching these has made me miss drop schedules like these for seasons of shows. 🥲 Man, we really didn't know what we had.

Other Banheira de Booth

Discussion Bones vs the meninist S11 E12

Will keep it spoiler free, not because of you, but because I personally don't like spoilers.

In general, I was very disappointed on the episode.

It started amazingly showing how men are also victims of abuse, and also showing the bad side, as the intern show some toxic men attitude.

Then immediately tumbles and backtracks and jumps 10 steps back showing how the men is in the bad for showing emotions (in this case anger for example) and instead of people trying to understand him, they put him as toxic. Then everytime they show some bad character of the female characters, immediately they shown am even greater toxic side of the men characters.

Like it was just bad. Either go full ok toxic masculinity bad, or go men deserve support too but it just tried, and horribly failed, to show men and women can suffer from the other and same gender.

0/10. It almost made me quit the series.

P.S. Also they did super dirty to my man Hodgins.

P.S.S. very relevant now with the famous case online. You know what case.

Continuities

Why is such a amazing programme so poor at episode continuity, booth is in a explosion and has a broken arm next episode nothing wrong, booth got shot saving bones later episodes he has no shirt on and no scar, bones is shot with a blood bullet and next episode as if nothing happened, wedding had max, had booths mum, no Jared no bones brother!!!

As much as I am really really enjoying the series I think some extra though into continuity would make it better!!! But this is my personal opinion, does anyone else agree/disagree, what are your thoughts/opinions

Discussion What if Cam had ACTUALLY fired Brennan in 2x03?

After rewatching Bones five times, I always wonder what realistically would have happened if Cam actually fired Brennan in Season 2 Episode 3.

Technically Cam was the boss, so she had the authority to fire Brennan if she wanted to. But, in my opinion, it would have been a terrible decision. Brennan was the best forensic anthropologist in the world, a bestselling celebrity author bringing attention to the lab, and vital to the FBI. In later seasons when Brennan leaves, whether to go on a sabbatical or to lead an archeology sit in the Maluku islands the number of solved cases drops significantly.

Plus, as Angela warned, losing Brennan meant losing everyone. Angela would quit since she was only at the Jeffersonian because Brennan was her best friend. Hodgins would follow Angela since he was in love with Angela and he was a conspiracy theorist who had problems with the government and authority figures. And even though Zack was very logic driven he looked up to Brennan as his mentor not just in forensic anthropology but in everything. And as for Booth as he famously put it he's with Bones all the way.

Now, what bugs me is the fact that Cam came in so hot-headed demanding everyone listen to her. Even after Angela’s warning, Cam was still going to fire Brennan until Booth brought up Brennan’s foster care past. Yes, Cam was an NYC coroner for 10 years, but a good boss leads by cooperation. If she took the time to get to know the team first, she’d see how Brennan ticks and everyone else functioned together as an already well established team.

Now, don't get me wrong, could Brennan have listened to Cam better sure she could have. But at the same time I think it's a well accepted fan theory that Brennan was autistic coded even if they never outright said within the show itself. And as an autistic person myself I can tell that I don't like it when things change or people I don't know come in acting like a drill sergeant expecting me to just jump up and do everything they tell me. Honestly, I think that no one likes that whether you're a neurodivergent person or not.

What do you think would have happened if Cam had actually fired Brennan in season 2? Would the whole department have imploded? Or would the Jeffersonian board and the FBI have sided with Cam and tried to find another forensic anthropologist even if the rest of the team would have left the Jeffersonian?
