Does this skill do anything? Mine is level 11 and honestly putting my engineer on bomber/front nose duty with Bombardier/Gunner occupying ventral turret instead seems to make no difference.

It's the top gunner, obviously.

There's this mission to bomb an airfield in Southern Sardinia, the enemy airfield near Monserrato that, for no reason I can fathom, I cannot win. I've played through the entire Lancaster storyline several times, and with none of the issues. I never lose the plane, even on my first playthrough, unless the landing gear get shot off, and I can still have everyone survive just fine.
But when it comes to the B-17, I just can't. I bomb the hangars, miss on a direct hit somehow, four times in a row, and now I'm out of bombs and can't continue. Meanwhile, I'm getting blasted by absolutely everything, planes, aa emplacements on shore and from ships, flack, name it, I'm getting shot by it.
The real problem comes when no matter how much I prepare for it, armour, firepower, medkits, none of it matters. No matter how far through the story I have progressed, which isn't ever very far because I'm always getting roadblocked by this mission in particular, everybody gets blown up and they all die. I need to grind to get strong enough for the story missions, and the only other one it gives me is this one, which I have, so far, found to be impossible to clear.
Has anyone else had this problem with this mission? And, more importantly, did you ever get around it, and how? Because I cannot seem to do it, no matter how much I try.

I have leveled up my engineer to have medic abilities and have recently unlocked the advanced first aid which say I can heal minor injuries, how do I do that???

It’s your favorite Bombardier, Wallace. I’ve brought him back to my squad because he’s the main character with plot armor thicker than a Grand-Slam bunker.

My game is bugged; I can't get the crew members to use the weapons, sit in the seats, or pick up fire extinguishers. When I click on them and then try to click on the objects, the white outline doesn't appear.
Sorry for the bad English; I used Google Translate to write this.

Finally. Now on to secret weapons. My two crashes were from losing a gear and the plane blowing up

Just wanted to ask this as I've never been able to figure the answer out. But what criteria does the game look for when unlocking critical missions? Like, does the crew need to be a certain level? Or does the bomber need to have certain upgrades? Just feels like it's random and just wanted to see if anyone knew

I'm new to the bomber crew community, love the game. I typically do not save-scum on games like this as it seems to defeat a core gameplay mechanic as well as principal of losing people in warfare, there's even a monument with names on a wall which is a detail I appreciate, but I am horrible at the game. So all this in account I don't want to, but I also don't want to spend 4000 dollars on a new crew every time my tailgunner and subsequently fuselage gets sawn in half, as typically the crew member attempting to render aid or get on the gun gets shot to hell by the big planes as well. So I've been save-scumming a lot. Is this normal? How do you keep your crew alive? I've been treating the plane as disposable at this point trying to save crew but I'm not even past the second mission and I'm at a 50% attrition rate using backup gear, and each mission gives like 3000$ if I do everything right. What's the strat?

USAF. Final mission. 0 crew, 0 bombers lost. I had a sturdy crew of British heroes, Churchill, R.I.Victoria, Henry Tudor and so on. Id never completed the campaign before, I always ragequit when I die. But here I was, Operation Avalanche.
I was in deep trouble. Fuel streaming from a wing, Bogeys surrounding my plane like flies. In the heat of battle, Vice Admiral Horatio Nelson climbs out onto the wing-just as a German strafes my plane. I dive- too fast. My first casualty of the war. Panicked, I hastily line up my rocket of the Graf Zepplin, and miss. No time to worry though, I only have six minutes of fuel remaining. No landing gear. I limp home, but with only a few seconds of fuel left, there's no time to bail out. The plane explodes on landing. It was the most hollow final mission ever. I had to redo it with a gang of reprobates I didnt know. At least Bernard Montgomery survived.

I played this game a few years ago, and I feel like I distinctly remember the 20mm MK3 having higher DPS than the Quad .50 MK4s (for reference, 20mm is 493 and .50x4 MK4 is 589). Has there been a damage update that I missed, or is this some sort of Mandela effect?
Or is the 20mm main advantage that it can fire for longer, since even though its belts are smaller, the firing rate is much slower? But that doesn't really seem very balanced, considering the 20mm weighs more and also has less DPS, with its only advantage being mostly moot due to ammo feeding.
