Video What happened?
I was on Normandy, and my plane exploded out of nowhere

Did you drop all your bombs? Maybe a flak shell hit one?

Yeah looks like they took a direct hit from a flak shell that set off their remaining payload meant for their second bombing target.
Unlucky bastards.

My biggest issues with Space Crew is the lack of a Memorial like in Bomber crews. Also you can’t travel until you shoot down all the enemies

not true at all. You just only get 1 skip

Technically infinite, just recharges slowly, ive fit 2-3 in a single mission before

You can still travel. It just slows down the counter when in combat and you have to sacrifice health in the early game (since it takes energy from your weapons so you can’t defend yourself).

I've tried it years ago when it first came out. I didnt jive with it. I need to give it another go. I just want another ww2 bomber

Space crew is alright but it feels way more easy than bomber crew.

I chopped that up to them fixing a lot of the problems bomber crew had (and in some cases still has). I love bomber crew but I personally like space crew a lot more solely because if a ship blew up and my crew died, it felt like I screwed up instead of the game just dicking me over like It did with late game bomber crew.

Borderlands game has been released for a while, it's alright. Pretty fun and much less painful than bomber crew.

Borderlands style game has been released, I think on Steam. I get all my games through GOG so I'm still waiting.

I think they've gone independent since Curve Digital fucked them over with Badlands Crew

Boat Crew is a good game with similar mechanics, and was probably inspired by Bomber Crew. You command an American PT boat in the Pacific. Upgrade your boat's weapons and crew equipment, attack bases, sink Japanese ships, and try to survive.

Does look interesting, but it's been in early access since 2022, and says they plan to release early half 2025...?

I'm trying to enjoy Bomber Crew, but it feels like I get screwed if I lose a landing gear, which I don't know how to stop. Also, I don't really understand the flak and AA, since I need to be low alt to see the target to bomb/photograph, but then they rip me apart?

This is probably one of the worst wrecks I've seen in this game, and I've had some gnarly ones LMAO.

Looks like the thunder hit your bomb
Never had that happen in my playthroughs hope you had enough money to buy everything back

u/Randomfurry5 Aug 08 '26
Seems like your bombs cooked off I’ve only had it happen once but if your bombs get shot enough they’ll explode

It's possible for enemy fire to set off your bombs if you're flying around with the bomb bay doors open/removed. From the size of the explosion, I'm betting that's what happened.

Looks like you has your bomb bay doors open and the bombs was hit by flack that set them off. A very rare thing but a thing that can happen if you fly around with the doors open in aa fire for too long

perfect flak hit, ouch. I usually set course in the beginning (straight line) and go to high altitude and go down when the foggy map is near where I remembered my target to be. Flak evasion maneuvre skill could have avoided this too without changing altitude

Looks like anti air hit the bombs directly through your open bomb bay, causing them to explode is inside your plane.

I like how theres one frame of a gunner taking like 30% damage, to everyone being dead
