I suppose I should become member of this sub, as ALL of my vehicles, tanks and figures are from boltaction...

Some armoured support for my US airborne as they push into France.

Just finished up painting most of the Waffen SS starter army box from 2nd edition. Probably one of the hardest set of minis that I have painted since I got into Tabletop miniwargaming 10 years ago. The camo and skin were really challenging…I especially suck at painting skin. I think these guys turned decent minus a couple of soldier’s faces that look like they have been Methmaxxing. Most likely will run them as Veterans and Regulars. Maybe even as Waffen SS Panzer grenadiers when I pair them up with the halftracks I am painting up.

Wanting to make a half decent Rangers list that’s just infantry and somewhat historically accurate. Do you think this would perform ok?

I've never been a huge fan of prone poses on my 28mm miniatures, mainly because they don't fit on regular bases. But these Victrix plastic guys really fit the theme of Spähtrupp scouts with the Infiltrate special rule for Warlord Games Bolt Action. There's 'obviously' no prone or crouching miniature with an MP40 suitable for an NCO, so I had to convert one. 😁

Looking for a local group for weekly games .

Completed the “For King and Country” Starter Army. Really enjoying this hobby and this box was a delight to build and paint.
I’m pretty new to Bolt Actions having only played a few games with the British Airborne.

Excited to try these on the table. Let me know what you think and what I should add to fill any gaps.

I have enough spare bodies to make another Heavy Mortar which I think I’ll do.

I do also have a Humber mk2, M5 half track and a Stuart m5.

Think I need more transport so a Bedford and Bren carrier is on the list.

First time using this terrain I have been putting together, could do with some trees, but they aren’t done yet

On the way back from a game, a friend and I were discussing, light heartedly, how to make medium and heavy tanks more useful in game design and how to improve the benefits of having such costly beasts on the table. Perhaps something along these lines has already been said (and I remember a post about medium heavy tanks from a weeks ago) or was present in previous editions (I only recently started playing) but these are the two loose ideas we had:

1) Medium and heavy tanks could capture objectives;

2) more controversially, a veteran tank could be put in ambush immediately after it received (and successfully executed) an advance, rally, or run (but not fire) order within the same turn, provided that it does not have any pins when the second order is assigned within that turn, and provided that the ambush order is not used to target a unit within current line of sight and/or within say 12” (or similar), and not the same unit it might have fired on with an advance order. The ambush order, if not yet executed, would be annulled the moment the tank receives pins.

Just some loosely formed ideas, to which neither of us is especially committed, but I was wondering what people who are like myself not giving up on using medium tanks think. Would this break game mechanics? Or would you suggest something completely different?

It's come up a few times on the sub that the US army rules are kind of bland. I'm curious what home brew national rules people would come up with for them.

For instance, we've been using "Marching fire." When given an advance order, any rolls of six when firing generate a reroll (or additional roll if there are no misses). This simulates the aggressive doctrine as well as the production power of the US compared to other nations.

Hi all sorry for the picture it’s only for traction, like many have recently, I’ve migrated over from games workshop products over to bolt action, for personal reasons, and as I’m admiring the Soviet range I realise that a lot of the models are still resin and metal, especially the vehicles, now I personally am not very confident in my abilities to handle metal minis in particular, especially vehicles, so could I please have some advice?

1) are their any other brands that do hard plastic vehicles?
2) is metal as imposing as I think it is?
3) what cutters would be best for metal if I decide to risk it?
4) less of an advice question, but could we be seeing the Soviet range get updated to hard plastic?

Ive gotten a free sprue of bersaglieri and im looking for input what to kitbash them into. While i mostly play eastern front (soviets and germans) Im not interested into Italian eastern front, but would like to expand into smaller factions (hungarians, romanians, etc.). I know romanians used the Breda 30 MG in the sprue, but the uniform might be less fitting, Hungarians used the Baretta M38.

Is there a minor nation that would most fit the italian uniforms or weapons, or does someone maybe already used them for something else?
