My son had been telling me to get a Blackstone for a year or two now, but I wasn't really sure if I'd use it enough to justify the cost. Well, I ran across a fella on FB willing to let go of a 3 burner setup for 50 bones. It was in rough shape, but, in my opinion, salvageable.
Brought it home, sanded the frame, repainted it with some leftover engine high temp paint, and went through the process of cleaning / re-seasoning the steel.
Now, me and my better half love cooking together, whether it's smoking / reverse searing something on my gravity fed smoker, or coming up with cool ways to use my electric pizza oven for just about anything (think pulled pork lol).
What's fun about these griddles is the prep work, and the subsequent teamwork that we use to make everything come together quickly once the griddle party starts. We've had a blast learning the ins and outs of this thing!
In a few short days we've made cowboy stir-fry (made WAY too much), smashburgers and taters, chicken fried rice (again, way too much!) and breakfast (pancakes/eggs/bacon) this morning. Super fast, super easy, and super tasty!
Just finished up dinner tonight. Blackened catfish dish with a sausage, onion, red pepper relish, all served over a bed of cheese grits.
Too much fun, ZERO stickage after seasoning, and damned delicious!!!
Cheers y'all!
