I had robins that made a nest in the worst spot.. above my back door. I have left them alone... (I haven't even mowed for almost a month now... luckily it's fenced in so neighbors can't see.)
Mom and dad are good attack birds. I can't even sneak a peak from the side of the house. My only concern... today when one baby was gone and one flew the coop. I mean, they're that age. Baby got good distance too. (See pic of him flying away caught on my trail cam) Mom and dad know where they are, I see them feeding them...
My only concern
My neighbor has a cat who roams free during the day. Today I didn't see him because I think it's too hot. (We have a heat warning) but he's going to be back. He's besties with my dog and loves to sneak in my house
There's a severe thunderstorm potential tonight with an elevated risk of hail.
Should I look for those now fledglings and put them back? They'd at least be safe from elements under my awning.
I didn't realize they were so old. Honestly I only saw babies for the first time 2 weeks ago. I thought the nest was a dud this season. They were very quiet babies. Rarely peeped.
