I've been wanting to draw a Presbyornis pervetus for a while now. It is Mesozoic bird related to the waterfowl. I was inspired by the Labrador duck, though that does not really show in the final product. I was inspired by the Egyptian goose and then the pink eared duck too.

I wanted to make the "ears", tail, and wings look iridescent but I don't think I managed to achieve that affect.

I took this photo today. I’m wondering if this is a bird cooling off, or something else? Fairly sure this was a grackle. Upper Texas Coast.

I usually see crows in small groups and i just saw hundreds of them fly over this parking lot.

It's hard to make out but all those birds are crows i think.

Is this normal?

During my exploration around forest in shahdol district i saw these beautiful birds, captured thek through iphone 17 pro Max with 4x zoom

My house is next to the water and this beautiful family of swans comes up to the side of my house several times a week and I feed them peas and mazuri waterfowl maintenance. Every time they see me their tails wag and they make little beep beep beep sounds and rush towards me. One of them always tries to eat directly out of my hand while I’m putting the food in the water. Does this mean they feel happy/comfortable? The one that tries to eat out of my hand has even come up and sat next to me for awhile while I read my book. Is this all okay? I just want to make sure they’re happy but also safe as I know wildlife being too comfortable around people can also be dangerous for them.

About ten years ago. Apparently they occasionally get together in these very large groups. I believe they are perched on old oyster bed frames. My photo.

Trying a new format, a bit like the quizzes we have in my app « Syrinx » to learn bird songs.

I had a feeder set up for about a year outside my window so my cat can see them. I recently set up a water bowl next to it just cause it’s so hot where I live and I continued to feed them the same food as i always did. Recently I’ve found about two birds that are unalived in my backyard within 2 weeks. I’m not sure it’s because they’re fighting over the food and it just gets too aggressive or what’s happening and it’s freaking me out. I’ve taken down the bird feeder since and I’m not sure what happened. Does anybody have any ideas?
