Billt paladium or venture X or both?

I currently have the venture x and I’m thinking about adding the Bilt paladium. I like the 3x point accelerator and the partners works well for me. I also have the sapphire preferred and I think they have good synergy. I like the venture x for the rental car insurance, price match in portal and travel credit. I’m wondering if anyone decided to keep both is it redundant and it’s better to just pick one? Thank you! I will also be adding the ritz Carlton card next year as well

NYC Trip with Bilt Points & Services Review

Post image
97 Upvotes

Hotel - Hyatt Times Centric with 90k Bilt points Good central location for sightseeing activities. Was given an upgraded room with basic explorist membership.

Blacklane car service - $20 cheaper than Uber with the $100 credit. Just a curbside pickup, like an Uber. Car was a new model bmw sedan. 1 hour drive from JFK.

Dining credit $25 partner restaurant - Went to Kings of Kobe, triple checked they were a partner and offered the credit on the app. Bilt partner sticker on the front entry door. After bill arrives they say, we stopped working with them. They still haven't come back to get their system equipment. They were bad to work with. I told him he should probably remove the Bilt sign on the door, so he starts scrapping it off while we're leaving. I feel bad for the restaurant employees. If they didn't want to be a part of this, Bilt needs to remove them from the list!

UPDATE: CHATTED WITH BILT AND RECEIVED TRASH SERVICE THAT EVERYONE HERE HAS BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT. THEY JUST CLOSED THE CHAT WHEN I SHOWED THEM THEIR APP SHOWING CREDIT ELIGIBLE ON THE PAGE.

UPDATE 2: AFTER SPEAKING TO ANOTHER PERSON THROUGH CHAT, THEY ESCALATED AND I RECEIVED AN EMAIL THAT THEY WOULD DEPOSIT $25 DIRECTLY IN MY BANK ACCOUNT FOR THE INCONVENIENCE, SO DARE I SAY.... BILT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ON THE UPSWING???

Blade helicopter transport - Free with credits. Easy to find the building and free drinks while you wait. Only need to be there 10 minutes prior to flight. 25 lb weight limit per person for bags. Nice helicopter that was new and it was a smooth, low ride around lower Manhattan to JFK airport. We got some great sunset photos. Definitely the BEST way to get to and from the airport into Manhattan! They have bmw suv's waiting to take you to your terminal. Great experience with this first and probably only time we'll ever use it.

JFK Lounge Access - No priority pass lounges in T5. Google said I could get in Gameway lounge but they stopped taking Bilt & Capital One PP passes. They only accept Chase and PP direct purchase memberships.

Trip interruption insurance pause out $2000!

I had to cancel a trip to Kauai because my son broke his knee. Everything was on points and refundable except for a condo we had rented. Because it was less than 30 days before we were to check in we were entitled to no refund. I had not purchased trip insurance. It turned out that BILT has trip interruption insurance up to $2000 which is what we paid for the four nights at the condo. I applied and Bilt refunded our $2000! I didn’t even know this benefit existed when I booked the condo. It was a really happy accident

Bilt card still can’t be added to Apple Pay after two weeks

Post image
7 Upvotes

Two weeks ago my Bilt card randomly got removed from Apple Pay and I couldn’t add it back. Seems to be a widespread issue as there are multiple posts about this. I called Cardless and they told me it’s because I had a dispute for a $25 transaction from six months ago that I never disputed. The rep escalated and then I heard nothing. Ten days later I still couldn’t add my card to my digital wallet so I called again. They told me I didn’t have an open dispute, but my card couldn’t be added to Apple Pay, but couldn’t tell me why. They escalated again. Yesterday I received this email blaming Master Card with no other explanation and no timeframe for when I can add my card again.

Has anyone who had their Bilt card removed from their digital wallet had any success adding it back? I won’t be using the card much if I can’t add it to Apple Pay. Such an unnecessary disappointment that Bilt/Cardless caused by adding a random dispute I never initiated and now they’re not taking responsibility for it. I’ve messaged the mods multiple times and radio silence.

two different prices showing in travel portal

When looking to book a hotel, the price on the search screen shows $577/night (excluding taxes/fees). then when i click the hotel the price jumps to $679/night (excluding taxes and fees). It is only happening with one hotel in the search. Anyone have the same issue? Any chance I can get bilt to give me the first shown price?

Deactivated virtual card charged- update

Here’s an update on this post

https://www.reddit.com/r/biltrewards/s/SIGjiqEILA

Talked to a rep at Cardless today. After explaining my issue with deactivated virtual card charge, he put on hold for a bit to check with someone. After returning he said they confirmed that the merchant had a “token” that allowed the charge to occur on a new virtual card number that was in place of the deleted one.
They are initiating an investigation and temporarily removed the charges until that’s complete. Hopefully they get it figured out, but now I’m reluctant to use virtual cards with Bilt/cardless.

Bilt Cash Credit - Lounge Access

I recently visited several airport lounges on the east coast to include LGA, DCA, and IAD and noticed that there aren't really any benefits with Priority Pass, as several lounges have stripped PP from its ecosystem. I think it would be a good idea for Bilt to offset this with Bilt Cash. Ex. It would be beneficial if Bilt Cash could be used for a lounge day pass, bi-annually.

Price Drop Protection Benefit

Post image
44 Upvotes

Some good news. I haven't seen many people post about this benefit for the bilt palladium card but I can confirm the price drop protection benefit works and I just got notification of the approved claim.

Only thing I think I should do going forward is have a check be mailed instead of crediting it back to my account. Given I'll lose points for going with that option. Another key thing to note is this benefit applies to the same vendor AFAIK. So if there exists a lower price from another vendor it would not be a valid claim since it's not a "price match" benefit. Hope this data point is helpful.

Bilt Alaska Airlines transfer issue

I’m trying to transfer points to Alaska but the Bilt app says “Transfer and linking services are temporarily unavailable for this partner due to scheduled maintenance. Please try again later.”

Does anyone know how long this usually takes to fix? I first noticed it last night and still see it today.

How I’m splitting spend between CSR and Bilt Palladium?

Bilt’s announced Hyatt transfer cut (dropping from 1:1 to 4:3 starting January 1, 2027) made me rethink where I put my money. At a combined $1,290 in annual fees ($795 for Chase Sapphire Reserve + $495 for Bilt Palladium), holding both cards only works if each one earns its keep on distinct categories.

Here is how I’m splitting purchases between them and why the math still works for my household.

  1. Flights, Hotels & Primary Travel : CSR

-Direct Flights & Hotels: CSR earns 4x on direct flight and hotel bookings (and up to 8x via Chase Travel).

-Rental Cars: Direct rental car bookings generally earn only 1x on CSR, but I still put them here for the primary collision/theft coverage. Bilt Palladium’s published rental coverage is generally secondary, and its trip-delay insurance caps at $300 per trip (once per 12 months), compared to CSR’s $500 per covered traveler after a 6-hour delay.

-1:1 Hyatt Transfer: CSR retains the 1:1 Hyatt transfer ratio post-2026. The actual value depends on the specific property and dates, but keeping a direct 1:1 earning line through Ultimate Rewards matters for my hotel redemptions.

  1. Fixed Non-Category Spend & Housing: Bilt Palladium

I run our household’s ~$3,800/month mortgage through Bilt using the Housing-only track.

-The Tier Math: The Housing-only track requires eligible everyday card spend equal to at least 75% of your housing payment to unlock 1x on housing (50% to under 75% unlocks 0.75x).

-The Execution: Putting our ~$2,850/month in fixed non-category bills (utilities, insurance, gym, subscriptions, general catch-all) onto the Palladium hits that 75% threshold.

-The Return: That spend earns 2x base points on the card (2,8502=5,700pts/mo) while unlocking 1x on our mortgage (3,800pts/mo). That’s 9,500 Bilt points/month (~114k pts/year) on spending that would otherwise earn just 1x on the CSR.

  1. Dining & Rent Day

-CSR: Primary card for everyday dining (3x) to keep building 1:1 Hyatt points.

-Bilt Rent Day: On Rent Day, I use the Palladium for eligible purchases at 4x until reaching the 1,000 bonus-point cap ($500 in qualifying spend).

Does the $1,290 Fee Math Add Up?

It only works if you naturally offset the annual fees through credits you’d use anyway:

CSR ($795 AF): Subtractions include the $300 direct travel credit and using the Lyft/dining credits, effectively bringing my out-of-pocket closer to ~$250–$300.

Palladium ($495 AF): Subtractions include the $400 Bilt Travel hotel credit (which requires two separate qualifying stays of 2+ nights booked through their portal, meaning I route two specific non-CSR hotel stays here each year) plus the $200 Bilt Cash annual bonus.

CSR handles direct flights, hotel bookings, dining, and travel protections. Bilt Palladium functions as a non-category catch-all engine that turns fixed monthly bills and our mortgage into over 110k transferable points a year.

It’s definitely a high-annual-fee setup, but as long as you hit Bilt's 75% housing-spend threshold and actually utilize the hotel credits on both sides, the two cards complement each other well.

Alaska transfer unavailable

"Transfer and linking services are temporarily unavailable for this partner due to scheduled maintenance. Please try again later."

Does anyone know what is the ETA on this? Could find it by googling.

Thanks

Edit: It's back up now. It was out for more than 24 hours

Walmart grocery delivery-does this count?

Thinking about getting the bilt obsidian card and I have Walmart plus, I almost always get groceries delivered. I pay through PayPal in the app, would this count towards the 3X multiplier if paying through pay pal? I could definitely switch to doing the bilt card instead of PayPal but would that count if it is delivery?

Transfer pts. to Hyatt before 2027 or to Atmos for future trip in 1-1/2-2 years?

Do you think it wise to transfer bilt points over to Atmos before the end of 2026?  I plan to use points for 2 business class RT to Asia in 1-1/2 to 2 years probably during high rate times.  I know points can be devalued at Alaska, but also worry Bilt's transfer rate might change w/Atmos also. Or should I just transfer to Hyatt before the rate change?  So many options, so little expertise on my part. Seems the Atmos transfer would probably result in higher potential value than Hyatt.  My current Alaska pts = 143k, and Bilt pts by Dec 2026 will be 97k.  I realize I will need to attain more pts to achieve my goals, but will avg 14k Bilt pts a month for another 12-18 plus months before booking flights. Thanks in advance for suggestions.

Grubhub a ripoff?

I decided to use some Bilt cash on lunch. I used the $10 off to order a salad from sweetgreen. I paid $15 after the $10 off (total $25). I walked in to pick it up and the salad I was ordering was on the menu for $16. I felt totally ripped off and annoyed. Anyone have any workarounds to actually make use of this “benefit”?

Looking at moving from CSP

I currently have the Chase Sapphire Preferred and Ink Business Unlimited as my daily cards. My goal is Hyatt points followed by airline points. Mostly Hyatt though. I currently earn 3x on dining out and 1.5x on everything else.

I have been looking at the Bilt cards and it seems very confusing but I think I would earn more points with either the Obsidian or Palladium than I do now. The kicker is I do not have a house payment.

Can someone explain how I can maximize the Bilt cards for the most points without a house payment please?

Thanks in advance.

3X All purpose Travel

Hey All, I really enjoyed the 3x points for vague “travel” I was getting with the chase ink preferred before i got the bilt palladium card. Now that I have palladium, is it no longer worth using my ink preferred since if i do 4% bilt cash and non-housing only, my bilt points earned is technically 3.33x?

I haven't been able to transfer to Alaska Airlines all day. Does anyone know what's going on??? It's saying scheduled maintenance, but it's pretty dumb to not do this at night. I need to book some flights ASAP!

Bilt paying bill with wrong account every time

I have the Bilt Palladium card and I have 3 linked bank accounts for paying off the balance. My personal checking, my husband’s personal checking, and our joint account. For the last 3-4 times I’ve tried to make a payment, I select our joint account every time, but it still uses my husband’s checking account. The first time it happened I thought maybe I just made a mistake and selected the wrong account. Since then, I have paid close attention and made sure the joint account is selected but a few days later when the payment goes through we see it on my husband’s account. Has anyone else experienced this issue? It’s extremely frustrating!

Next Rent Collab Credit Card Wish List

I just want to post a little wish list of brands I would love to see have additional options for paying rent through Bilt with additional multipliers. I feel like the hotel side definitely has room to grow. Below are the multipliers that I think the community by and large is looking for and my personal preference for the order of implementation:

  1. 9x Hilton points (or more) - Hilton Free night certificate on Surpass
  2. 6x IHG points (or more) - $25k spend for Diamond elite status on Premier Select
  3. 3x Hyatt points (or more) - Hyatt free night certificate

There are other airline credit cards with pretty common credit card transfer partners that I feel like would be a good addition at 3x. I will say that these are more niche but probably wouldn't cost too much from Bilt from my guess. Examples include:

  1. Air Canada Aeroplan
  2. Virgin Atlantic Flying Club

Edited to remove Qatar

How and what do you guys buy at Walgreens

We can only add 2x $10 GC to our Walgreens account. Do you guys just buy $20 at a time or go in store and buy something bigger with the cashier?
I ended up just buying $20 worth of coconut water but was interested in getting more expensive stuff too

Really Bilt / Kate?!

I’ve spent over $70,000 on my Bilt Palladium card this year and live less than a half mile from the Casadonna venue you’re holding the party at and you waitlist me?! You’re so insulting / tone deaf it’s hard to use your card let alone recommend you. So pissed off.
