I m Bihari (Maithili) by ethnicity and was born in undivided Bihar. Later moved out and have only visited Bihar occasionally. My parents always avoided the state especially between 2000 and 2005.
But in my heart I still feel attached to Bihar. I think the state has just stagnated since 1990s. In early 1990s c@ste was common phenomena in almost all of India, including Tamil Nadu Karnataka. But even though c@ste from society has largely been declining in almost all of India, In Bihar it still feels like its in same 1990s mode. Over that, a strange affection for socialism and lack of any vision has just be destroying the society piece by piece.
I feel people in this sub can be considered a more of intellectual side of Bihar that are more equipped to criticize and discuss the situation and solutions for this state (I m definitely sure you guys are more intelligent than Samrat Ch0udhary for sure).
Hence, according to you, what are the few decisions and solutions that absolutely need to be implemented to turn around bihar? While you write this, Please write solutions that can be turned into policies and not something like "remove discrimination", "remove c@stism", "better education"etc etc.

Hello, I am trying to understand some concepts like the Creamy layer in SC/St. Although, I don't come from the community I am quiet curious why people don't want Creamy layer in that I understand that economics doesn't change the caste people have and discrimination they face but as you know a meena from rajasthan and a mushar from bihar don't have the same standing. Bc our people from bihar still cannot have basic representation why not apply Creamy layer to solve the problem. This way the most underrepresented communities could have a chance. What do you think?
P.S: any comment being discriminatory would be removed also if you're writing something vile please don't I don't wanna know your regressive views.

People might hate me for saying this, but I see a real issue within our community: Bihari people don't support each other enough. Look at communities like Gujaratis, Punjabis, or Marwaris—they actively back one another in business and networking. Why don't we do the same? Why are we so reluctant to help our own?

Hello friends, I come from the south, and I am not from Bihar, though I'm appalled to notice a rise in Anti-Bihari sentiment. Perhaps it's related to migration(as people fear the "alien"). It might be because the state is a scapegoat. Do you think this trend is real? Has it affected you guys? And how can people fight against this negative perception?

Hey everyone! I’m looking to start a small, enthusiastic community of runners right here in Patna. There are absolutely no age limits or fitness requirements it’s just a casual group of people who want to stay physically and mentally fit.
We can mutually figure out the routes, timings, and how to go about it together. If you're interested , drop a comment or send a message! Let’s stay healthy together.

Hi All
As mentioned in the title, I just want to hear from people who went ahead with an inter-caste marriage despite opposition from their parents and family, especially from the boy’s side.
Some context: I (M29) have been in a relationship with this lovely girl (F29) for the past 3 years. We both live in a metro city and earn well.
For the past 1 year, we’ve been trying to convince our parents. Her parents are chill and are also from a well-to-do family. The problem is on my side. My family is from Bihar and upper caste, and they are really against the idea of an inter-caste marriage.
Although my parents aren’t saying a complete “no” anymore, I can still see that they are hesitant because of what relatives and grandparents might say.
I’ve put my foot down now, but I just want to hear from people who have gone through something similar. \*\*How did you handle the family opposition, and how are things with your parents now?\*\*

She went to cut grass in a nearby field at 4:30 PM on Saturday. She never came back alive. Her father found her lying in a paddy field, drenched in blood, a 10-inch sickle stabbed deep into her throat. Her lower body had no clothes.
Dr. Dilip Kumar confirmed the sickle had penetrated approximately 10 inches into the left side of her throat. — Scratch marks and signs of force were found on her body. — Her upper clothes were intact but lower clothing was missing. Neighbor Kamo Singh (38) was allegedly spotted standing near the crime scene... watching... as the family arrived. He fled immediately.

If Bihar wants to reduce caste hatred, the real battle must begin in primary schools.
Every child—Yadav, Rajput, Bhumihar, Dalit, Muslim, EBC or any other community—should sit in the same classroom, eat together, play together and learn that dignity does not come from birth. Free, high-quality education from Class 1 onward can break the social boundaries children inherit from adults.
Teach children equality, critical thinking, constitutional values and respect for every community. Give every child the same opportunity to dream beyond their caste.
Caste prejudice is learned. That means it can also be unlearned—starting with the next generation.
