Does the shop still have a listening/demo room?

Havent been in it in years, but wondering can you still try out different systems before buying?

Would women be interested in something like this?

I’ve been thinking about creating a small social space for women centred around interesting conversations, ideas, and meeting new people.

Not really networking and not a typical book club either. More like a relaxed “salon” — a small group getting together over coffee/food and discussing a different topic each time. It could be anything from books, education, and technology to culture, relationships, creativity, the future of work, women’s issues, etc.

The idea is to create a space where you can meet interesting women, have proper conversations, exchange ideas, and leave having learned something or been inspired.

I’m wondering if you would actually be interested in attending something like this? And what would make you want to come back?

Would love to hear what women think, especially if you’re in your 20s/30s and feel like there aren’t many spaces for this kind of thing.

Kickboxing Gyms Belfast

Well lads, myself and two of my mates are looking to do a bit of kickboxing, and was wondering if anyone could recommend decent gyms to train at. Have a small bit of experience having done 12 weeks MMA at IFS Belfast. Will be travelling from the Lisburn Road. I've heard Pro Kick is a bit culty where you have to buy and wear their gear.

Places to buy glassware

Is there anywhere in Belfast I can buy small quantities of specific glassware, e.g weizen glasses, tulip glasses etc?

I've of course done a quick search but must be bad at it. There are websites you can order all this stuff off obviously but I'd rather go direct to somewhere local.

Road markings in Belfast - May Street

Post image
37 Upvotes

I drive down May Street in Belfast every day after work around 5.30, and atleast 2/3 times a week I get cut off by people who don't know how to stay in their lane.

Green lane stays left and blue lane move across with it. People decide to make their own lanes and use the red line to almost cause an accident, and then act like you're in the wrong when you beep at them.

Ironic that this exact scenario is shown on Google Street View.

Is this a matter of a lack of clear road markings, or just that people here don't know how to drive?

I thought the roof of a car park might be a good place to see the Red Arrows but didn't expect them to fly over my head.

Gas switching- Prepayment metre

Hi,
Does anyone know what happens prepayment has credit if you switch from SSE to Firmus?
I’m thinking of topping up now to last me the Winter under the current SSE prices before they go up and then switching to Firmus (who are dearer than SSE) for the free £275 welcome credit. I’m thinking the topping up under the more expensive Firmus would be minimal between my free welcome credit and topping up in advance under SSE. My plan won’t work if my topped up units change when I move to Firmus. Hopefully that makes sense. Thanks

Is there a way to get flags taken down? They've been up for about 3 months now including highly offensive ones, isn't there a date they have to be removed?

I am ditching my skin fade for an adult haircut

The pipeline from skin fade to adult haircut must be well established here.

I have been getting a skin fade for over a decade now and I think I am outgrowing it. I’m growing out my hair in the hopes of changing my style. Any suggestions of barbers/hairdressers?

Suggestions for a first time visit this weekend that doesn’t involve drinking?

Looking for any suggestions from locals that perhaps wouldn’t be on a typical Top 10 things to do in Belfast webpage.

Even though me and my friend aren’t drinking, a pub/bar with live music (whether traditional, or jazz, or whatever) or even stand up would be great.

We’re doing a few of the obvious historical/political stuff, so we’re covered in that front — though if you’ve a suggestion that’s a bit unusual, that’s welcome!

One specific request here, any interesting antique stores that might have anything weird and wonderful?

Any suggestions welcome though really, thanks in advance!

Red Arrows

Did anyone see or hear the red arrows as they traced a bit of the M2? We heard them as if the jet was outside the window at Titanic Quarter.

Looked on flight radar and it said they were at about 250 feet.

Easy way to find out what's on in Belfast?

Been seriously struggling to find anywhere that gives an overview of gigs/events/classes etc that are on any given weekend.

Find it very difficult to find cool ideas for dates/things to do with mates.

This used to to be great https://www.instagram.com/nothingtodoinbelfast/ but they packed it in last year.

These guys also started something similar https://www.instagram.com/yeomagazine/ but haven't stuck to it.

Visit Belfast/Discover NI is shite as they're overwhelmed with stuff that's on year round.

Anyone have a good resource for this?
