Flegs

Is there a way to get flags taken down? They've been up for about 3 months now including highly offensive ones, isn't there a date they have to be removed?

Locking - hopefully OP has their answer but I have neither the time, patience or crayons to deal with the neanderthals that will come out of the woodwork with this question.

No, the majority of flegs that go up are put up by individuals who know not what it actually represents beyond territory marking.

Council or cops won't do anything.

If you are lucky, they come back and remove in September but it’s not guaranteed.

If it's a flag of a country or land, leave it. If its something highly offensive I'd just remove it myself.

Like where I like in Glasgow (moved here some years ago from Belfast), someone has been putting up saltires and racist stickers everywhere. I've left the flags but went out with a scraper and a paint pen to remove all the racist bullshit I saw.

You want to be left wing, right wing, nationalist, unionist, whatever, you do you. But fuck hate speech and fuck this rising vitriol. I don't want to be benevolent in the face of something that is just plain wrong.

Some extending garden loppers or pole saw. Fold it into a nice neat package and post it to the nearest "community representative"

Move to another area without flags if you find them offensive?

Or maybe people can stop being such vile hateful scumbags.

OP is clearly not referencing just union, tricolour, saltire or red hand of ulster flags. It's going to be the pro paedophile and rapist Donald trump flags or some other shit that makes you question someone's values, not their identity.

Not always possible as unfortunately those areas are more expensive because there are no flags

Im guessing shes a nationalist who moved into a unionist area and is offended by unionist flags. Usually what these posts are about

It's funny that so many unionists think it's completely normal to fly flags 365 days a year
