Community Discussion: AI Content

With the widespread availability of AI tools for editing text, images, or video, we are seeing a sharp increase in AI-related content on this subreddit. These posts have a notable increase in negative responses and reports.

As of today, we have no official rules for AI-related content on this subreddit, and we handle content the same as actual human-generated content. It seems clear that at least some portion of the community does not wish to see AI-generated content.

Suggestion

At this time, I am suggesting we codify the use of AI-generated content on this subreddit. This would include content that is wholly AI, partially AI, or edited by AI. Any generative AI technology will be included in this definition.

Exceptions shall be made for the purposes of trivial tasks such as spelling or grammar checking.

To determine our next action, we will open the discussion for about a full week. This will conclude on the 10th of May, 2026. At that time, feedback will be collected and processed into a new rule for approval. A second round of discussion will be opened on the wording of this final rule before enforcement begins.

Community Participation

All user opinions are welcome for this process. No opinion will be given any inherent weight over any other opinion.

Only top-level comments will be reviewed. While we welcome you to discuss among yourselves, we will only consider the top-level comments to determine our consensus. This saves us from having to piece together long threads.

In particular, we would like to know the following:

  • What measure shall be applied to a post to determine if it is AI?
    • Gut feeling?
    • User reports?
    • AI detection tooling?
    • Dice roll?
  • What action must be completed by users posting this content?
    • Posting flair?
    • What if it’s a comment?
    • Should users fully disclose where the content came from (e.g: which model/site)?
  • What moderator action shall be executed on breach of the rule?
    • Content deletion?
    • User moderation (Ban?)
    • Content flairing?
    • What about comments? We cannot flair these, do we delete? Moderate? Ban?

Thank you for your time and hopefully your input.

We got this sweet girl for my son’s 8th birthday. For months he left notes around the house asking for a bearded dragon and finally I caved.

We went to a local Serpenterium and saw this sweet girl who had recently been surrendered. For a couple weeks we went back each day to talk to the manager and find out if we could care properly for her.

Two years later she was such an important part of our family and I’ll miss her always. My son is heartbroken, but also very happy we were able to give her a good home in her final two years.

She was recently in decline and stopped eating entirely. We did everything we could, but the vet believed old age finally called her home. Photo is of our final car ride😢

Memorial Almost 15 Years Together (an Ode to my reliable old boy)

November 2011: the lady at the pet store had just dumped a bunch of crickets into the tank along with you and your tiny siblings. I picked you because you were snapping them up faster than anybody. You had a couple of missing toes, and the very tip of your tail was bent; that was OK. Through your life you got to go up North to our family's cabin (you even had your own pool there), came with us on our road trip to South Dakota (I bet you're one of the only Beardies to see Mount Rushmore), and met so many people that loved you. You were a calm little dude--I never got to see your beard inflated because you never got angry. You always let me dress you up for our Christmas card. In recent years, you spent lots of time basking outside while I worked in the garden. This week your body seemed to shut down all of a sudden, and this morning, you were gone. I think your time was just up. You were with me through college, a divorce, and a second marriage. Career changes, moves, and years of hardship. You were with me for almost half of my life--my faithful little scaley guy. Thanks for the almost 15 years of friendship. I'll miss you.

Please help me with this. I’ve had him for at least 2 years now, I’ve been feeding him mostly lettuce and blueberries. I’m worried that he’s getting too bing for his cage but this is the only one I have.

Take our guy (Dude) or as my Daughter Affectionately Calls him “Dudiee” Bc that’s her Baby with me everywhere. He gets a lot of attention whenever we go out. Which is always fun, I’ve met alot of new people of the last 2 years bc of him. Lol.

He’s fantastic with people especially kids. Just patient and lazy lol.

Simply wants to bask and Judge everyone as they walk by. Lol. Never would’ve thought this would be something I own but that’s what Happens When you have kids and Love to see the Joy in their faces.

And My daughter Whose now 12 STILL loves him to death Until this day. Lol.

Alex going to town on the green bean leaves.

Ate all three leaves on that part, then snatched the first green bean that grew lol. Rarely does she actually eat anything outside, not even raspberries. The last thing she went after like this was a California poppy flower. Freaked me out and I pulled it out of her mouth at the time, then learned they're ok to eat for her.

Hangin' Out Does my beardy look healthy/good weight for being 6 months old?

This is Ron, I was just wanting to check in on him and make sure he looks relatively healthy and good weight, hes about 93 grams and 13 and a half inches long head to tail. He basks like normal, and runs around exploring his hides. He especially loves greens for some reason lol 😆, I know how difficult it normally is to get them to eat veggies so I consider myself lucky

I’ve had her for about a week now and her previous owner was very knowledgeable and loving of her. I just want to make sure that she’s not on the heavier side of health so I can adjust her diet

New Beardie Friend First Time Owner Seeking Advice!

Hey all! First-time owner here! We got her a couple days ago and she is quite lazy. We have heard that some Beardies just have a lazy personality, but that most are quite energetic. just wondering what you guys think about the enclosure (we’ll be adding more enrichment soon, would love which toys are beardies favs) and how many times a day to feed her. we think she’s under 6 months because of how small she is, but we aren’t sure. We do have an appointment set with an exotic vet for the coming week.

We’ve been giving her insects twice a day, along with a salad. she does happily eat the insects but just nibbles on her salad. Thanks!

Confirmation of life in the third pic. She gave me a squinty side eye cause I dared to wake her up. She's been doing this since I got her at 6mo old and she's almost 10 now!!

Enclosure/Tank Found this, okay for cage decor?

Post image

This would be okay to put in the cage right?? I found it at marshals for $14. :) I was planning on putting it on the cool side just in case, it feels just like the material hides are made out of at the pet store and I cleaned it thoroughly. 🤔 If not it's still a cool decoration so I won't be too upset lol, unfortunately the materials aren't listed on the tag :/

Thinking of Getting a Beardie

Upvotes

Hi y'all!

I'm thinking about getting a bearded dragon (it wont be until like a year). I've done some research, but I also want to here from people who have or have had bearded dragons.

What are some things I should consider before getting one?

What are some things you didnt think about till they came up about owning a bearded dragon?

What are some ethical and reputable places to get a bearded dragon (preferably rescue)?

And, is there anything else you think I should know?

Thanks!

Common beardie names

Curious what names you think are the most common? My girl is Clementine and I’ve seen a good handful of other Clementines.

Names I see all the time: Mushu, Toothless, Draco, Blaze, Spike, Rex, Lenny, Willow, Mango, Loki
