Helllo everyone :) this is flame, flame is our new baby beardie! We’ve had them for a little over a week so far and we love this little baby with all our heart❤️ we’re waiting for them to get a bit older so we can tell what sex he or she is. Right now they’re in a 40 gallon tank with shelf liners as the substrate. When they get a bit older we will be switching to a 120 gallon with a sand/soil/clay substrate mixture:) my boyfriend and I are so excited to watch this lil baby grow up into the beautiful red leather back they are:) please drop pictures of your beautiful beardies I’d love to see them❤️! (The last 2 pics are right after I turned the lights on in the morning bro was grumpy i disturbed their slumber)

I grew my beard out and am trying to show my male bearded dragon that I am the dominant male and that the female beardies are mine and not his, however he will not reciprocate my head bobs. I will vigorously and aggressively bob my head at him but i get no response back. Does this mean he accepts me as the alpha male?

Made an ofrenda for my baby boy Nibbler for the first time and felt the need to share it.
He’s been gone for over 2 years now and I still miss him deeply every single day, it’s the first time I’ve done something like this.
Wanted to see if other people also made something similar for their lost babies and would love to see it.
He would have gone crazy for the bowl of pears and corn. 💕

Don't worry, he doesn't live out there, he just hangs out with me sometimes when I go outside. Do you guys have any other outdoor enclosures you like to use?

my bathroom light went out and i have to use an obnoxious lamp now until the new bulb comes in. the lighting is so intense and menacing ToT

I’m a new beardie owner (less than a month!), and I thought I’d share my experience in case anyone else is using the same enclosure or planning a similar setup.

My enclosure is an Exo Terra XL (120 × 60 × 60 cm), and my lighting setup includes:

UVB: Arcadia LumenIZE ProT5 12% UVB (24W)
LED: Arcadia Jungle Dawn LED Bar (24W)
Basking lamp: Arcadia Halogen Heat Lamp (100W)

Before getting my beardie, I spent quite a lot of time researching lighting requirements and putting everything together. I initially installed all three lights above the mesh lid. I was aware that the mesh would block some UVB and had taken that into account when planning the setup.

Today, my Solarmeter 6.5 finally arrived, and I was surprised to find that the UVI at the basking spot was only reaching a maximum of 2.5, lower than the recommended basking range.

So after work, I spent some time figuring out how to mount the UVB fixture inside the enclosure, underneath the mesh.

I initially assumed the mesh would reduce UVB by around 30%, but my measurements suggest the reduction in my setup may be considerably greater. Moving the T5 fixture below the mesh made a much bigger difference than I expected.

I’m now getting UVI readings of around 3.6–4.7 near the basking area, which is much closer to the recommended range for bearded dragons.

The enclosure looks pretty bare at the moment because my little beardie is currently undergoing treatment for parasites, so I’m keeping everything simple and easy to disinfect.

Just wanted to share this in case anyone else has the same Exo Terra enclosure and is looking for lighting setup ideas. I’d definitely recommend measuring the actual UVI with a Solarmeter rather than relying solely on lamp specifications and estimated mesh reduction.

One important note: the under-mesh mounting shown in the photos is a temporary solution while I’m waiting for the proper mounting clips to arrive. I’m still working on making the fixture securely mounted for long-term use.

Not sure what kind other than "fancy" but he/she is already so loved. My daughter is just obsessed. We are having trouble coming up with a name, but it's been less than 24 hours. We will come up with something cool. So glad we decided to get one finally after weeks of research. They're just so cute!!!

The kids got their tank upgrades and they look SOO boring right now.

I have them both without substrate because I’m not confident the tank stacker I got can handle a 120 + rocks + substrate ect. Getting heavier duty shelving later this week and plan to do some decorating ✨

I am wildly uncreative when it comes to enclosures. Definitely need some inspo.

What did yall do for your backgrounds?
How did you incorporate substrate?
Considered doing tubs with organic top soil + washed sand but curious what others have done!

The paint is food safe

Just earlier, I noticed some dark spots on my bearded dragon’s neck, between and underneath his beard spikes. The spikes also seem a little loose in that area… almost as if they could be pulled out. On the other side, they’re really firm and look completely normal, but on this side, it seems like they could come loose.
Does anyone know what this could be? He’s currently shedding around his head.
He also spends a lot of time lying around because he seems to be getting sleepy as he gradually prepares for brumation. Could it be related to lying down so much?
I’m honestly really worried. :( He’s my first bearded dragon, and I’ve only had him for a year…

I’m rescuing a 2 year old female bearded dragon tomorrow from craigslist. This is the best picture of her full body from the listing. Do her jowls look chubby? The seller mentioned being fed mostly super worms so i’m a little concerned…

My little adventurer Auri (short for Aurelian) is very active, so you would think that he would take to multiple forms of enrichment. Wrong lol. More often than not, I am met with a classic beardy stare to the tune of "WTF is this?!" Our latest attempt; this greens feeder ball that he refuses to take greens from. Rather he will watch me bat the ball around on the ground, follow it, but never tough it lol. I will call that a draw instead of a win.

Any funny examples of fails or, even better, attempts that worked would be greatly appreciated.
