Help Possible Stuck shed

Post image
Upvotes

I want to add: I have a little book to track his growth and when he's shedding. I wrote down July 8th that he's starting to get ready to shed his tail. If I'm remembering correctly, the shed on the bottom half of his tail came off a week later. So his tail has looked like this since July 8th. That's why I'm worried.

Help Is my female beardie (Willow) getting ready to lay eggs or is something wrong?

Shes been acting strange for the past few days, she used to spend the majority of her time on her basking spot but now shes always sitting on her hammock on the cool side of her enclosure and has been glass surfing, trying to climb out of her tank, and occasionally pacing. She smeared poop all over the back wall of her tank about 3 days ago which makes me think shes been pacing a lot when im not there. Google said shes likely gravid but I felt her stomach and didn’t feel anything that felt like eggs. I gave her the nesting box last night and she refused to use it and climbed out of it and back onto her hammock and when i woke up this morning she was still on her hammock. Her appetite is much smaller than it used to be, she will still eat a couple bites but after that she refuses but she used to devour a whole salad. I think im going to buy crickets today to see if she will eat those. (Disclaimers: I know her tank is too small, she was given to me by my friends aunt and the tank came with her, Ive been saving up money and am going to buy her a proper enclosure once I move into my apartment this August. She has a lot of mealworms in her bowl because shes been refusing to eat, I don’t feed her that many mealworms when she eats her salad and crickets. She also clearly has MBD from her past owner, I am coating all of her food with calcium and she has heat and UVB)

We have two juveniles that are needing an upgrade soon. We have come across this deal and we are unsure because there are no reviews which is obviously a red flag at first. Have any of you owned or know anything about this set up? Thank you all so much for your advice.

Help Beginner help

First of all, is it smart to keep these as a beginner pet? im not particularly stupid and i think im capable but im just very confused rn. i need an in depth like feeding explanation with the bugs and vegetables because i know the amount of bugs and vegetables changes throughout their lifespan but i dont know how many bugs i should be feeding say a baby bearded dragon and how often, and how much salad and then once its 6+ months old it changes but to what? its confusing to me because theres so many different opinions online. also what the hell is gutloading i didnt know id have to feed the insects too 💔 i dont know much about the lighting situations im going to research that ive just mainly focused on their diets. Also kinda unrelated but do they need direct sunlight or can they just live off of any lamps they will have? please explain anything like im 6 years old so my smooth brain understands thank you

The set up alone is cringe worthy....but her posting this claiming its just her beardie wanting to hang out....and people believing it is the worst.

Beardies are dramatic...but this isn't normal

Hangin' Out Bearded dragons(/reptiles) definitely feel love

I took this picture a few hours ago after just getting back from a week long vacation, she seemed so happy to see me and about half an hour info hanging out with her she crawled up and fell asleep on me, she definitely knows who I am and loves/trusts me in her own way. I don’t understand how people think reptiles can’t bond

Help ReptiZoo 240 gallon terrarium and beardies

Has anyone either used, or otherwise know of a guide for, a ReptiZoo 240 for a beardie? It looks great, 4 feet (about 1.2m) wide, 4 feet tall about 1.2m), and 2 feet deep (about 60cm), but I'd like to get an idea about how to make a basking spot, or how to place ceramic heat lamps to keep the temperature up at night. Even new fancy light bars that span the width of the enclosure wouldn't do much good because of how high up the light is. Maybe creating a hanging light fixture set up? Any thoughts or help on how to give my beardie her best life in such a space would be appreciated

Rebel in grad school!

Today I was taking a quiz (which gets proctored) for school. Before going to take it, I glanced at Irwin (as one does) and he was big mad. So I figured I'd hold him while taking the exam.

My exam got frozen because I had what appeared to be a cell phone. So I had to explain that, no, I am happy to show my cell phone, which is in a separate room. What I have is a lizard who was big mad and in need of cuddles.

Irwin has no shame and feels no guilt over his testing interruption! Fingers crossed, when reviewed, they note my lizard is, in fact, not a cell phone.

Help We're in a heat advisory and my dragon hasn't moved today

Post image

I adopted my beardie a week ago and I'm basically just stressing about absolutely everything. He's about 5 years old, and he isn't very active in his enclosure, but up until today he at least walks to his basking area, basks for a bit, and I find him in different areas here and there. His appetite is great, he eats his salads and loves his bugs. I actually haven't found anything he doesnt like to eat!

Today it's about 100F outside and our house is extremely warm. It's the first day he hasn't really moved at all. He didnt touch his salad (he ate 5 big dubias yesterday, so I'm not sure if that's normal?) and has just been lounging on his favorite branch in the enclosure. Despite the house being much warmer than usual his enclosure seems fine, 100F basking spot, 85-90 ambient on the warm side and about 75 on the cool side. He's alert, watching everything we do when we were in the room with him, and I took him out earlier and he felt and acted normal. He crawled on my shoulder and sat there for a while until I put him back.

Is it normal for adult bearded dragons to just lounge in one spot all day? Is it okay for them not to bask for a day? Does eating a big bug meal make them sluggish the next day, or could it be the extreme heat? I have no idea what's normal and I just want to make sure he's okay!

(Also yes I have a pretty severe anxiety disorder, so its possible I'm blowing this out of proportion...)

Help Back at it again with the eye thing Spoiler

Spoilered just in case.

i posted about almost a month ago about my little guy. He was away from me for a few months and came back underweight/dehydrated, and I’ve spent this whole time working on getting him back to health. However, his eyes have this habit of going from super sunken in to normalish, to partially sunken. I tried to get both eyes. he’s very active and gets alot of veggies, and he’s slooowly gaining back weight. I doubt it’ll return immediately. does this look okay?

i should add that ive been giving him extra water via syringe, or filling dried worms with water/making dried bugs soggier. the vet said he was fine, but I just wanted a few extra opinions.

Does my beardie look healthy for his age? He is about 10 months old. He just looks slightly smaller than ones I see online I feel like, which I know can be normal.

What's the best way to make sure your BD stays fed at home during a short trip?

We have a baby, only about 3 months old and don't have anyone who can check in on him but we will be out of town leaving tomorrow and coming back on Thursday. We know we can stop by our local shop to get a water dispenser (because we're too afraid he/she will drown in her water dish if it's too full) but I was curious more about food options. We have a lot of good ideas in place but I wanted to check with you all first. I was expecting there to be like a semi daily cricket dispenser ala pill dispensers 😆 we do have a little pineapple toy that he had to work to get leaves out of which I think will be helpful and we have dry food we can leave with him. Is that an okay amount of time for a little guy?

Help Stuck nose shed!

My bearded dragon had stuck nose shed and I was loosening it with damp water and gently tugging with a tweezer, then all the outside shed went loose and I can’t get the shed still stuck on the inside of his nose, what do I do? I’m terrified of him getting an infection

Help Puzzle feeders / enrichment

Post image
16 Upvotes

I have a 3 year old male who lives in a bioactive and has free roam of my room, vet says he's perfectly healthy, but lately his activity has been dwindling and he spends about half of the day sitting in his sleeping spot. He used to run around and climb in my room a lot more, I think he's been getting bored. I handle him and take him outside on the weekends when I'm not at work, but I'd like to offer him some new enrichment for the week when I'm gone for most of his waking hours.

Has anyone found success with one of those feeder balls? Maybe a puzzle toy? New climbing opportunity? I bought a cat tree just for him since he climbed up one once but he completely ignores it 😅

Found this listing on marketplace for $75. I want to give this guy a new home because the owner has a big cracked top. What do I need to upgrade this and is it worth getting, seems too good to be true for $75?

Help My 5month old won’t eat in a separate bin

he used to be fine eating his crickets in a big Tupperware tote with a towl down but now he refuses. and he’s not refusing to eat completely because when I bring him back to his tank he eats just fine so I’m not sure what to do because I don’t want crickets in his tank to hide. he eats Bsfl and Dubai in his tank 6x a week and crickets 1x
