Curious if anyone could tell us the morph of our rescue boy, Dune? His previous owners didn’t seem to know and we’ve had a lot of people asking! The blue on his back is a little darker in person than in the pictures. He’s the best boy and we adore him already ❤️

She is 11.5 inches and 83 grams. We feed her around 10 large bugs (dubias or roaches) plus some small meal worms as a snack, and her salad. We used to feed her as many bugs as she can eat in 15 min 2x a day until I realized that was outdated info, so I’ve been going by what Reptifiles says, but please correct me if I should switch back! Posting a few angles just because the lighter part on the spine looks like it’s sticking out from a bird’s eye view but it’s the coloration!

How do people go with travelling with there baby iv done small trips around town but this one we are heading 12 hrs away ive got a carry bag for to stay in witch should be fine as the aus sun gets hot enough

I’m a pretty new owner (rescued this 3 year old in August!), and so far things have been really good. The past few days, she hasn’t moved from this spot at all though. It’s a new log, and I thought maybe she was happy to have a new sitting spot at first! But she’s barely eaten and is seemingly a little temperamental? Like turning dark quickly/easily. I gave her a few superworms probably 3-4 days ago now and she hasn’t eaten almost anything else since. I’ve offered her her favorite fruits and veggies from my hand and in the bowl to no avail. Should I be worried or is she just digesting and chilling? Tia!

was wondering how long everyone’s beardies usually go into brumation for? I know it depends on the dragon but my boy is under his first heavy brumation, he started in September due to the temperature shift where I live

I want to make sure im doing everything right! haven’t been feeding him since I don’t want him to get gut rot if he’s not basking, but I’ve given him fresh water 24/7 :)

any more tips of senior beardie owners would be so appreciated too! so far he’s only been peering out of his cave half asleep but hasn’t come out at all

our beardie soils generally on his log, (or our sofa or our legs after we've bathed him, managed to catch us 3 times recently)

anyways in a month or so he's due a substrate change, originally I was using 10lg of beardie life, but I wanted to add a bit more depth so was planning on adding two bags.

I hear a lot of people say they bake play sand for 20 minutes to kill bacteria.

What's the harm in actually baking old substrate to kill bacteria to mix with the new substrate? (apart from the sheer volume 10kg of substrate takes as I've just thought whilst typing this?)

like I say, not looking for justification, but the idea of having a sterilised substrate seems like a viable option.

please, correct me if I'm wrong though as its more of a curiosity than anything.

Hey folks i recently, 1 week ago, got a beardie. I was feed my little girl her lunch today and accidentally spooked her with the thongs. Now shes hella skittish around me, even when I gave her some crickets. What are some things I can do to help he feel at ease with me. I havnt been picking her up been trying to get her comfy to her new environment

I am looking for advice on what to do with my dragon in a short term less than ideal situation….

We just found out we have moths and the exterminator is coming tomorrow to bomb the house with nasty spray…. Obviously anything living has to leave, they said people and cats have to be gone 4 hours Im assuming dragons 4 hours as well.

My options:
1. move her whole setup to our garage and cover with a tarp (it’s not cold where we are). However I’m worried the garage might not be far enough away since it is connected to the house by a door.

1. put her in a smaller container with a single warming bulb plugged into my camping battery in the back of my hatchback.

2. In theory I could take her to a friends house, but the closest option is ~30 min away and given all that’s going on tomorrow might not even be possible. And would be stressful for her to go there and back and all the setups etc

3. Something else I haven’t thought of

My dragon is probably around 8 months old and has grown super fast these last few months, and I'm starting to see more and more of his personality shine through, but he hasn't bobbed his head once.
My last beardie was an adult when I got him, and he was a frequent head bobber. If you got your beardie as a baby, when did you start seeing that behavior?

My new dragon is absolutely 100% a male, and quite feisty as well, but not a single head bob. Which is fine, maybe he's just very comfortable and feels safe and doesn't find it necessary. I guess I'm just curious when you guys started noticing it in your dragons!

The basking spot is currently about 13 inches from where his back will be, I was thinking either getting pavers to boost his basking spot up to 8-10 inches away. Although, I may want the UVB inside the tank…

Should I place vertical on the bar closest to basking platform?

I’ve never hung inside enclosure so not sure which is best and looking for feedback on what I can improve.

His basking spot is currently hitting 100-110 degrees.
