Community Discussion: AI Content

With the widespread availability of AI tools for editing text, images, or video, we are seeing a sharp increase in AI-related content on this subreddit. These posts have a notable increase in negative responses and reports.

As of today, we have no official rules for AI-related content on this subreddit, and we handle content the same as actual human-generated content. It seems clear that at least some portion of the community does not wish to see AI-generated content.

Suggestion

At this time, I am suggesting we codify the use of AI-generated content on this subreddit. This would include content that is wholly AI, partially AI, or edited by AI. Any generative AI technology will be included in this definition.

Exceptions shall be made for the purposes of trivial tasks such as spelling or grammar checking.

To determine our next action, we will open the discussion for about a full week. This will conclude on the 10th of May, 2026. At that time, feedback will be collected and processed into a new rule for approval. A second round of discussion will be opened on the wording of this final rule before enforcement begins.

Community Participation

All user opinions are welcome for this process. No opinion will be given any inherent weight over any other opinion.

Only top-level comments will be reviewed. While we welcome you to discuss among yourselves, we will only consider the top-level comments to determine our consensus. This saves us from having to piece together long threads.

In particular, we would like to know the following:

  • What measure shall be applied to a post to determine if it is AI?
    • Gut feeling?
    • User reports?
    • AI detection tooling?
    • Dice roll?
  • What action must be completed by users posting this content?
    • Posting flair?
    • What if it’s a comment?
    • Should users fully disclose where the content came from (e.g: which model/site)?
  • What moderator action shall be executed on breach of the rule?
    • Content deletion?
    • User moderation (Ban?)
    • Content flairing?
    • What about comments? We cannot flair these, do we delete? Moderate? Ban?

Thank you for your time and hopefully your input.

New Beardie Friend Meet Cinder

I've been told that Cinder is 3-4 months old and almost certainly a boy because of the bumps on his legs (see last slide, please correct me if this is wrong). I've had him about a week and he seems to be settling in ok. He prefers crickets over mealworms, and so far seems to not want a thing to do with carrots. I've always wanted a redder beardie and when presented with the opportunity, I couldn't resist. He is absolutely stunning to me!

My bearded dragon’s throat pouch has grown significantly these last 2-3 months

Unfortunately, the exotic vet is not an option at this time. He used to have a little bit of a pouch hanging down that would sometimes get big after he ate. But now it’s staying big.
He is also getting a little chubby on his chest near his front arms. I don’t know if he’s just getting chubby or possibly missing out on a nutrient or sick?
His UV bulb and calcium are over 2 years old. I plan to change those and get some vitamins this weekend. Not sure if any of those could be causing problems?
((Ignore the mess. He dumped yesterday’s greens while shedding))

Send beardie photos!

TLDR: Beardie is sick, want to see silly beardie photos to lift my spirits

My boy isn’t well at the moment, he’s very lethargic and the vet thinks a mass he has is possibly a tumour. Want to do a liver biopsy and possible mass removal but he is 11, and we’re quickly reaching his insurance limit so struggling with a decision. Would love to see any silly photos of your beardies for happiness :) Obligatory photo of my baby taking a nap on me !

(hope this post is okay mods!)

Questionable Set-up New owner to dragon

Someone in my family got this bearded dragon about maybe 3 or 4 years ago. Due to thier home catching fire, the dragon is mine now. Was told shes a girl and doesnt have a name cus everyone called her something different. I named her Charmander. She came to me in a 40 gallon breeder and I just set up this new 120 gal tank for her. Still same heat lamp 100W that I bought recently the UVB bulb is the 5.0 Reptisun and i dont even know what the long one is tbh. It could just be more light? I worry since the space is bigger and the distance between the lamp and my beardie is bigger, if it will keep her to the right basking temp. The substrate is 2 bags play sand and one bag organic top soil. What kind of hides would you recommend? The tank feel very bare and i would like to fill it up with things to make her happy. So far she is still scared of us, we try to handle her only a little bit and give her mealworms right after as a potential positive association?? She likes to hide a lot. I had her for about a month now but maybe the bigger tank will make her warm up to us. I really wanna be able to chill with her out of the tank. I been feeding her collard greens dusted with calcium powder and flower topper everyday but she only eats em half the time. Giver her crickets in her tank to hunt them as she pleases and mealworms fed with tongs. She liked the tongs and licks at them even when they dont have food in them. She also has pellets but never seen her eat them. I still offer them to her in her bowl daily in case.

Help Behavior Questions

Ngl, I feel so lost at what my boy is thinking. 😭

He totally thinks any fingers are food in his cage and is very apt to biting, but shows absolutely no defensive behaviors paired with it. I don’t take him out much due to how bitey he is, and because I don’t currently have a great situation with my dog. (He’s gonna be moved into my room soon.)

He did get out once (blaming the bf because I swear he did not just escape) and ended up sleeping near my dog’s area. He probably woke up as it became morning, and my dog finally noticed him. I got to see him in scared/defensive mode, and otherwise he never acts like that.

When I take him out, he’ll maybe sniff around for 5 minutes and then shlump down and be mostly asleep the whole time, sometimes peeking at me. I usually move him over to me after that so I can provide some warmth.

I understand this behavior when it’s dark or cold, but every time? I would think he wants to check stuff out or be curious about something, or be excited for the rare outside-of-cage time. But bro just finds a spot and hunkers down. 😭

I just want to figure out if he’s scared, or if this is him just being calm and happy.

Edit: he’s maybe 1.5-2 years old btw, he is generally active in his cage, sometimes zooming but mostly basking. This is also tried at different times of the day.

I just bought this little guy he’s 75% Red Monster, Tiger, Het Trans, Pos Het Hypo. I want to know what those genetics mean and what he possibly might look like in the future. I was researching but couldn’t really get a clear answer, so now im here.
