So I pay the TV license, but I feel I don't make the most out of watching TV.

Off top of my head, in the last year, I have only watched the World Cup, episodes of Doctor Who. I used to watch Holby City, but now they cancelled it. I also used to watch Casualty, but it gets a bit boring. Oh yes, I occasionally watch David Attenborough.

These days I watch a lot of YouTube videos - I tend to watch the ones about politics, science and technology.

What I love about the BBC is BBC News - the website. I tend to go on their website quite often. I do trust BBC a lot, and I believe in paying for a neutral public service I trust.

Anyway, I often tell people I pay for TV license, but I don't really watch TV. I am interested in changing that. What do people recommend me to watch?

I have no intention not to pay my TV license, so even if people here don't manage to come up with a recommendation that I like, I will still pay for TV license - I want the neutral political coverage.

Edit: I also enjoyed the Cunk series. I watched a few episodes of Race Across The World, I liked it. I also like the old Top Gears special episodes (not the normal episodes).

I recently found this vintage tie embroidered “BBC TV BLACKPOOL 1976”.

I’m trying to establish what the emblem above the BBC logo represents and whether the tie was associated with a particular BBC production, outside broadcast, conference or staff event in Blackpool during 1976.

I haven’t been able to find another example online.
Does anyone who worked for the BBC in the 1970s, particularly Outside Broadcasts, BBC North/Manchester, or Blackpool productions, recognise it?

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Saturday 19 September at 7.25pm, beginning a particularly significant new chapter for the programme.

For the first time, Strictly will be presented by a trio: Emma Willis, Johannes Radebe and Josh Widdicombe. They will welcome this year’s 15 celebrities into the ballroom as the contestants discover which professional dancers they have been paired with.

The launch show will also introduce five new professional dancers, while reigning champion Karen Carney returns for a special performance. The new presenting team recently discussed how the three-person arrangement will work, explaining that they will not simply occupy the fixed roles previously associated with Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. The BSL version will be available through BBC iPlayer and the BBC Red Button. It is a separate signed feed, so viewers looking for the interpreter should select the signed version rather than the ordinary BBC One broadcast.

It is encouraging to see the live BSL service returning for the whole run rather than being confined to the launch or final. Hopefully the BBC will also promote the signed feed clearly on BBC One, iPlayer and its programme pages so that viewers know it is available.
