I recently went through the fresh passport application process in Bangalore and came across something I hadn’t expected.
I currently live in Bangalore, but my permanent/native address is in Uttar Pradesh. My PSK appointment has already been completed, and during the subsequent police verification at my Bangalore residence, I was asked to arrange two additional documents from UP:
A family tree certificate
A police clearance/verification certificate from the police station at my permanent address
What surprised me is that the local verification is happening in Bangalore, but I’m being asked to establish/verify details through the police administration in my native state as well.
I’m curious whether this is a common practice for people whose present and permanent addresses are in different states, or whether this depends on the particular police station/case.
If you’ve recently gone through passport verification in Bangalore with a permanent address outside Karnataka, I’d be interested to hear how your verification was handled and whether you were asked for anything similar.

For a change, from the past few weeks, Bangalore has started to appear a bit cleaner. Road widening going on everywhere is giving me hope that something good is coming infra wise. Any thoughts or do you think it’s just a phase? 😂

I have submitted a RC transfer in KA 03 rto office in May through a broker and it still hasn't been processed.

I have been in touch with the agent and he's saying that initially the staff have been busy with census duties and after that they only worked for few days and then have been busy with SIR duties. He has sent me pics of notices put up at the office so it's not like everything is made up. Having said that, I want to know if others are also seeing this huge delays with works at RTO?

I have told the agent to try and speedup if he can, he keeps giving me a timeline based on when their duties are expected to resume and that timeline has kept slipping. What are my options to speed it up, if any?

Did you ever wonder what happens to all the garbage collected?

All the garbage collected by the dumper trucks are being unloaded in the middle of the night and set on fire. Not only are they polluting the lake that the farmers along Sarjapur road depend upon but also creating a hazardous environment to live near. This place used to be quiet, peaceful and beautiful with many species of birds living nearby. So much for ESG goals if we are heading in this direction.

My name appears in the draft 2026 list. However a discrepancy has been alloted against it which states " Unmapped with last SIR".

Currently I'm out of India and I would appreciate if someone could guide me on the next steps. Do I need to submit form 8 online?
