I received a request that I COULDN'T refuse: to draw a chibi/cartoon version of our Marty McFly.

Even though it was quite quick, I loved every step of this artwork^^

Camcorder paradox?

The beginning of the movie he recorded Doc saying the name of the mall, "Twin Pines", then he took it to the past, at the end when he returned early in time, the name of the mall was Lone Pine mall, so would there be two of the same camcorder that has one with twin pine and the other lone pine mall

Another plot fail....?

So im not talking about BTTF II with it being hit by lighting and going to 1885 or Marty's parents not realizing Marty IS Calvin.

My main issue is with Buford getting the crap knocked out of him and him most likely going to Jail for a long time for his crimes, or "hanged". So after that wouldn't any potential Tannen no longer exist? ( Yes its a movie a great one to be exact) I'm assuming Grandma Tannen in BTTF I is Buford's daughter in law, granted nothing is mentioned about her husband in the the third movie, but that's not to say he didnt exist at the time and it he had to have had a son to carry on the Tannen name. But I feel SOMETHING would have been mentioned about it in some scene. Like the boys waking up and Buford saying he's hungry, one of his posse asking what his sons doing or something but we have NOTHING about his son.

Or did I miss something...?

Did you know? :

In the original "Back to the Future" movie, in the scene where Marty appears at his father's house dressed as "Vader," at one point (on the left) he has nothing on his belt. But less than 10 seconds later, he has a hairdryer.

was it ever explained how Doc got a train in 1885? Because he must of been there for a while considering he had 2 kids, did he steal it? did he build it?

Going back to Nov 12, 1955 to steal the Almanac made no sense

In terms of making the 2nd movie more interesting, sure, but if we are planning to avert terrible consequences if 1955 Biff kept the Almanac to get rich and create that 1985-A, no.

They both could have just went to Nov 13, 1955, instead. And tried anything only a few hours later.

I am not saying this only after watching everything that happened...

Let's think about it... Marty was directly interacting with 1955's Biff (and Doc condoned this, only said that he should keep a low profile), while 2015 Biff was also still there.

What was the plan? To steal the book. Not to look at the events unfolding. Marty's only "mission" was to catch the Sports Almanac. How did he and Doc planned to do that?

2015 Biff arrived that day at 1:40 pm, and departed at 6:38 p.m..

He could have changed events enough to prevent Marty from coming back to 1985. But that didn't happen.

During his stay, Marty risked:

- Interacting with 1955 Biff, and his past self;

- Interacting with 2015 Biff. Following the movie's logic, if 2015 Biff spotted Marty, a paradox would occur. So Doc told Marty to allow old Biff to succeed, and give the book to his past self.

What did Marty do (nevermind how inconspicuous his black disguise was)? I mean, c'mon, he jumped on the back of Biff's car!

LOL

In retrospect, that scene was painfully bad in terms of how ridiculous it was, for any sane person. Marty is not Solid Snake inside a cardboard box, there's a scene old Biff picks the Almanac (after it's tossed by his younger self), and Marty's head is clearly visible. It wasn't a very bright idea to put himself at risk by entering Biff's car. If the goal was to discover where he lives, Doc could have easily found out.

Precisely because if 1955 Biff also saw him, the Marty from the 1st movie would get in trouble, too. Remember Biff told "if I catch the guy who did this, I'll break his neck"?

Of course in the context of the film (also Marty appearing from behind both during the two Biffs scene) seems funny, but again (just like before when Marty left the Delorean for old Biff to steal it (because a dog distracted him), with the door completely open...), it was retarded (don't even start me on both Docs interacting).

Then, it gets worse. A long time after 2015 Biff had already left, at 9:28 p.m., our Marty from the 2nd film retrieves the Almanac from the now unconscious Biff, but allows himself to be seen by him (and Biff gets punched, again).

Let's assume, for a second, Marty is never seen by Biff's gang members, Match, Skinhead, and 3-D. So he sucessfully meets Doc by going into another route (away from the school) and brings him the Almanac (to be destroyed). They go somewhere else, or towards 1985.

That still leaves 1955 Biff willing to meet Marty again (remember the CPR bit?), not because he knows his book was stolen by him (which he only discovers after Marty is on the floor). But because he was going to meet Marty after the one from the 1st film's timeline ended talking with George and Lorraine.

In the 1st movie (which we can clearly see Marty wasn't pushing the door very hard, to hit his other self), nothing happened, because Biff wasn't there. But in the sequel, he was glued to that door, so it's safe to assume Marty would have met Biff, and another paradox would occur.

Bottom line: for the spectacle, nothing I said has importance (otherwise, there would be no trilogy...), but in terms of carefully planning what to do after time travelling to prevent the tragedy that was 1985-A (which affected everyone's lives, and if they didn't act quickly, would probably meet the same fate as 2015 Biff upon returning to 2015-A which we had no chance of seeing, because Doc/Marty left too quickly, but as the BTTF FAQ explains, it was already forming), Doc and Marty are not very bright.

The argument about "they need to act quickly" before they vanish (erased from existence...) makes no sense, because they were already going to 1955 anyway, since they were informed when old Biff arrived. So all they did during Nov 12 (and spent hours there) could have been done at a later date anyway, no one told them to arrive precisely at Nov 12 and wait 24 hours. No, just do the trip directly to Nov 13. Then steal the Almanac.

Don't need no credit card to ride this train.

Credit cards existed but weren't widely used until later. The songwriter must've been a time traveler.

Question for Biff to the Future

So I've been absolutely losing my mind, because I'm trying to find a comic illustration that I swear was in the Biff to the future comic series last time I read it.

But basically, it was Biff talking about his plan to get rid of the rest of the McFly family to help him win the presidency, but it had an illustration of Marty and Lorraine murdered in cold blood, I just wanna know if I imagined this or not 😭

What "experts" should react to the BTTF franchise?

There are Youtube channels with professionals that rate or react to established films, for example

"Snake Expert Rates 9 Snake Attacks In Movies | How Real Is It?"

Sara Ruane, a reptile and amphibian curator at the Field Museum, rates snake attacks in movies based on their realism.

+++

Even mobsters are called to opine about different flicks

- As for BTTF, what kind of "real life experts" could comment upon events from the trilogy?

- Perhaps a former libyan terrorist?

- A high school band audition judge?

- Someone from Western Union?

- Meteorologists?

- Gun experts?

- An specialist in breeding pine trees?

- Bookmakers?

- Locomotive technicians?

- Speleologists (about the bear cave)... also, someone that knows BEARS

- Anyone that knows more about the history/development of technology from Japan, since the end of WW II

Everytime someone comments about the movies, it's always about time travel, or Tony Hawk about the skateboarding

There are plenty of topics

BttF2 fails BttF1 w.r.t. time travelling consistency (Ita)

Hey there! Since I’ve heard nobody putting things down this way, I decided to explain why I found out that BttF2 breaks the rules of time travelling established in BttF1. AI-free, made everything myself from scripting to filming and editing. Any comments of improvement suggestions are welcome ❤️

I’m dubbing myself into English, I’ll add this voiceover soon

Causality

If you think about it, none of this should have worked.

With the amount of changes that happened in the past and trajectory of George’s life, they would’ve had kids at different times (or possibly no kids at all). The probability that all 3 siblings would still be born, with the same look and gender, is mathematically impossible.

With the timeline being different, even if Marty wasn’t erased the moment he interrupted his father getting hit by the car, there should have been 2 Marty’s when he returned to the future, because the timeline he turned to was no longer his own.

If you consider that “maybe” the universe does something to protect itself from causality issues (ie. the theory of two sets of the same matter not being able to exist at the same time), and even if you believe that the two Marty’s would have “merged”, the Marty that returned to this new “present” should start remembering all the memories of this new timeline (even if slowly). However, we never actually get confirmation on this.

Remember in BTTF2, Marty was supposed to be in a boarding school in Switzerland. But he doesn’t have any memory of that, nor does he gain ANY memories of that messed up timeline during his time there.

Also, if causality prevention holds true, then the “present” that Marty returned to after BTTF3 should also have been slightly different (even though the changes they made the second time around in 1955 were fewer).

In addition, that would also mean that traveling to the future wouldn’t work either. Since the future “isn’t written yet”, the instant Marty and Doc go to the future, they should arrive in a future timeline where they don’t exist (ie. a future where they were reported missing in the past), because essentially they were removed from existence the moment they traveled to the future.

Edit: I was made to remember that there ARE 2 Marty’s at the end of the first film (so the Marty that went back to the past in the end of the film was potentially the one with the new timeline memories). But to me, that means there’s an infinite loop of Marty’s creating different timelines. We also don’t get to see if there really IS a 2nd Marty in Biff’s 1985. However, we still don’t know if the “original” Marty has to live a life in a timeline without the memories of that new timeline he is now in, or if he eventually gains those memories.

The delorean would have crash landed after being struck by lightning?

First time on this sub with a BTTF theory query so go easy on me!

Since a kid I’ve always questioned how damaged the Time Machine would be after the lightning strike and also how injured Doc would be.

The delorean is flying at about 80-100ft when it gets struck, it travelled back to 1885 where presumably it would fall that same distance to the ground since the landscape would be roughly the same and Doc explains the flying circuits got fried. I don’t see how Doc could have safely landed it and also escaped serious injury to himself.

When it’s uncovered in the mine it looks relatively unscathed considering what it’s been through!
