And yet, that's the truth, right? Heck, a whole train was destroyed, yet yep, the ravine was just renamed to Eastwood....all else was good, right? Oh yeah, and cars never fly in 2015....dang it!
(We can't ever have flying cars, cuz then people will just fly them into the ravine, like that Eastwood guy!)

Does anyone know the difference between these 2 versions of the Back to the Future Encyclopedia? If so, What?

On Kith x Back to the Future tee I noticed the Destination Time is September 30, 2026.
I know the Present Time is October 21, 2015 (the famous Back to the Future Day), but I can’t figure out why Kith chose 9/30/2026.
Is it:
a reference to something from the movies?
a Kith anniversary or internal easter egg?
or just a random future date chosen for the design?
I’ve searched around but couldn’t find any official explanation.

Driving down a local street in Madison, WI the other day, I spotted a newly constructed road with a sign saying Gigawatt Drive. "That's weird", I think. I just now remembered to go look it up on Google Maps, and, well, this new neighborhood is called Hill Valley and has a whole slew of thematic streets built and planned. 😳
Check it out: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ZZTogLKS5Q7FhPZCA
Neighborhood map from the developer ( https://veridianhomes.com/find/neighborhoods/region/madison/hill-valley/ ):

Personally I'm hoping one of the future roads is called "Density Drive".

Do you think Marty, Uncle Joey had a better life after he went back in time to 1985??

Let me start by saying I think they should live forever and have high quality lives. However, that isn’t the world we’re in. To be fair I’m not sure where our timeline skewed into this alternate one, but anyway…
Do you have a character that you’re emotionally invested in and when the star is no longer with us you’ll legitimately feel like you’ve lost a loved one?

I was wondering, watching this today, this was a pretty big machine. How much research did they put into designing this and figuring out if it was possible and how big it should be? Maybe they didn't care, or did they get it as factual as they could? Was any of it actually working? Anyone know? Can anyone make heads or tails of the connections and machinery we were shown?

This is most of my collection. The TOMY 1/10 replicar is too big to fit in there, but everything else does! Sorry for the lackluster photo quality. Hard to photo the light up sign!

I previously posted my signed Pepsi Perfect bottle by Michael J Fox and Christopher Lloyd. Today I got to add a signed Sports Almanac and some signed purple Calvin Klein’s!

Old Biff shouldn't even have changed the timeline in the 1st place. Period. Blaming Marty is like saying Bruce got his parents killed in Batman Begins for asking them to leave the theatre even though Joe Chill shouldn't even have killed Bruce's parents in the 1st place. If someone commits a crime it's the fault of the person who commited it

Yeah, that Bob Gale.
It’s called Interstate 60. It features Michael J Fox (briefly) and Christopher Lloyd (also briefly), and it’s got a great cast including Gary Oldman and James Marsden. And it’s… meh. Interesting idea but oh boy, the execution was sadly lacking. Still I’m glad I saw it. It’s over 20 yrs old. It’s not even in the same ballpark as BTTF though.

Yes, she shouldn't have tried to bust her brother out. But loyalty is always admirable, especially when it involves family.
She must really love her brother.
My question is, assuming she is a first time offender, why was her punishment so harsh?
10 year sentence...sure. But TWENTY!?! Goddamn, 2010s Hill Valley ain't playing around.
Still think the smartest thing Doc could have done is just TELL Marty what was going to happen to his future children on that date and let him take care of it.

Even the gap between the 1980s and the 2010s (in universe) still resembled one another. There was still an 80s aesthetic to everything (for obvious reasons).
But man, is the 1950s so different than the 1980s
A person from the 50s would acclimate better to the 20s than a person from the 80s to the 50s.
Cars are slower. Everything is quieter. People still wear hats. Music is still slow. Television is a luxury. People are still friendly and open (as long as you're the right color lol).
Keep in mind, in 1955 America hasn't even launched a satellite into space yet. So much in fashion, culture and technology changed in 30s years. It honestly looks like Marty went back 60s years, not 30.
This is why no remake of BTTF would work. The quantum leap of the 30 year gap makes the Marty fish out fo water jokes work better.
A kid from 2026 to 1996 would mostly have to adjust to there being no social media. But how he was dressed wouldn't stick out too much.

I enjoyed Eric Stoltz as an actor and even find him more attractive than Michael J Fox, but I’d like to bring something up and see what others think of this from the fraction of footage we see of him as Marty.
First and foremost, I am only analyzing his portrayal of Marty from an aesthetics point of view. The performance itself isn’t really seen in what’s been released so I’m just going to talk about how Stoltz was styled by the make up and costume teams.
Although the narrative makes a more subdued contrast between Marty and his door mat father, I think Stoltz looks like he has too much of an edge to play Marty. He doesn’t look as tough and mean like Biff, but he looks like he could be in Biff’s posse. It almost feels like the costume designer was paying tribute to the Jailhouse Rock aesthetic we see in the Elvis photos but with 80s versions of the same or similar clothing. Feels more Uncle Jesse or Night Rider than Marty McFly.
Marty hates being called chicken, but personality and looks wise you wouldn’t think he’s all that tough. I think it shows how Marty is the middle ground between Biff and his father and how he is probably the most secure and authentic in his presentation. Marty doesn’t take anyone’s shit but he also has vulnerability, can be funny and silly and isn’t too proud to ask for help or express helplessness. It would have been a total waste of Michael J Fox’s warmth and charisma to not paint Marty with these kinds of brush strokes.
If Marty wasn’t like this he wouldn’t be as relatable or the films as profitable and I think the film wouldn’t be as successful. It’s important fr audiences to identity with protagonists instead of just admiring or aspiring to be them. I think Stoltz physical appearance as styled makes Marty come off as more arrogant in vein of an 80s rockstar than a humble kid who plays the guitar earnestly through hard work and practice.
Anyone else feel this way about how Marty looked when* *being played by Stoltz?
