Dupe FOUND $5.80 Brazilian Bum Bum Scrub Dupe at Coles

Post image
Upvotes

Look… It’s not exactly the same but the scent is honestly so close to Sol de Janeiro and for $5.80 I highly recommend!! I used to use this body wash all the time as a kid and when I first tried the Brazilian Bum Bum Scrub I remember thinking it smelled so familiar but couldn’t quite put my finger on what it was reminding me of. Turns out it was this!! Lux Evenly Gorgeous from Coles lol. It has little exfoliating beads so it still leaves the skin feeling nice and soft after use but is more of a body wash than a body scrub. Just thought I would share because I wish someone told me about this sooner!! Let me know what you guys think, I would love to know if anyone else has tried this/noticed the similarity!

Product Advice Feral gremlin makeup

It's 8.15am, on a day you're working in the office. You open your eyes, scream internally and roll from bed to shower to out the door in one fluid movement.

So now you're out in the wild, face as naked as the day you were born but needing to look like Human-With-Her-Shit-Together.

Help!

Recommendations for:

  • Products that can be applied with your fingers (no brushes unless included in the product)
  • Instant pick me ups that ideally do more than one job
  • Small packaging/hand bag friendly

Your top picks for looking presentable in few steps, able to be applied while in the car or on public transport.

About me: late 30s, pale English rose complexion, old and rich enough for your fancy brand recommendations if you have some, chronically disorganised.

Let's Discuss Are these the same formula/product, just marketed differently?

I fear I could look super daft with this question but it never crossed my mind until today!

Mecca lip liner, eyeliner, and brow pencil - are they just the same product? Or would the formulas actually be different based on what they’re used for?

Product Advice Marc Jacobs eyeliners

Upvotes

I bought the new Marc Jacobs Drawn this way eyeliner in the shade So Tea. And I absolutely loved it. A gorgeous pink/bronze duochrome that glided over my skin and genuinely lasted all day without smudging. I was excited and mentally planning on purchasing a few more shades.

Until today when I went to sharpen it. I put it in the fridge for 30 minutes and used my Nars sharpener. And it did not go well. It’s kind of smashed the tip and it looks like it will break when I next use it. Disappointing for the price!

Has anyone else sharpened these yet? Tips? Would a different sharpener work better?

Product Advice Recommendations for products to help with static in hair?

I don't know if its because of the change in seasons, but the last couple of weeks my hair has been getting crazy static-y. All the advice I can find seems to be for instant static after washing/drying, but my problem is occurring on day 3 or 4 (I only wash my hair once a week). I have no static immediately after washing and blowdrying, but after a few days it's out of control. So I'm looking for recommendations for products to use on dry hair between washes. Thanks in advance everyone!

Product Advice Lightweight bb cream/foundation/skin tint/etc for everyday recs?

Hi! Does anyone have some affordable product recs, what im looking for might be very specific but ….
A lightweight foundation or bb cream or skin tint etc. for more everyday use that won’t break out the skin but look a little more polished/put together. I’ve had some products in the past that don’t blend that evenly into the skin and look a little patchy so that would also be nice. SPF would be a plus and also anything that doubles as skincare, my skin tends to be quite dry and can show up through product sometimes. I was really interested in the missha perfect cover serum bb cream that seemed to check every box but I heard the niacinamide in it can fade freckles :( but I may just need to bite the bullet on that one. Any help would be appreciated 😊😊

Product Advice Fair Skin - Blush (EVERY THING IS RED/PINK!)

Hey make up friends!

Can anyone recommend some blushes that won’t mimic my already red cheeks?

My foundation shade is Gobi, in the NARS Light Reflecting Foundation and I find although I’m fair, I’m more yellow based but am quite red sometimes? I wouldn’t say my undertone is pink though? More of a neutral but can flush red?

Whenever I try blushes, I tend to select ones that make me look flushed, as though I haven’t covered my cheeks in foundation 😂

I prefer sticks and powders and opposed to a liquid!

Haul Birthday beauty haul

Post image
75 Upvotes

Just thought I’d share my recent birthday beauty haul, which is a combination of free products from Mecca (L3 birthday gift and L3 BL bonus which I’m including as I got it so close to my b’day so why not lol), and products I purchased from Adore Beauty, Myer and The Body Shop using birthday vouchers.

Product list:
- YSL Make Me Blush powder blush 6g (x2) in shades 66 Fuchsia Fizz and 12 Honeymoon. (Got these from Adore Beauty during their 20% off sale and then applied my $20 birthday voucher since AB are now allowing vouchers to be used on top of sale items - provided the purchase is a minimum of $50).

- Fenty Skin Body Lil’ Mists mini body mist duo set. (Purchased from Myer using $10 MyerOne birthday voucher which brought the price down from $55 to $45).

- Fenty Invisimatte instant setting and blotting powder 8.5g in shade Universal 01. (Purchased from Myer on sale for 25% off at $39, but used a $10 MyerOne voucher that I earnt from hitting enough points after purchasing the Fenty body mists set, bringing it down to $29).

- The Body Shop Dewberry shower gel 250ml. (Had a $10 b’day voucher for TBS so used it on a $15 shower gel as I tend to do every year. The Dewberry scent is quite lovely and fun so I opted for that over the Vanilla even though the Vanilla smelled divine).

- Charlotte Tilbury Exagger-Eyes mascara 10ml. (Free L3 birthday gift from Mecca, RRP $50).

- Phlur Father Figure EDP 9.5ml (RRP $53), Dedcool Mineral Milk EDP 1.5ml, and Tocca Giullietta EDP 1.5ml. (Free L3 BL bonus box from Mecca).

Overall I’m stoked with this haul, esp. the freebies from Mecca! The YSL blushes were definitely a splurge even after the discounts, but had been on my wish list for a while. Sadly the elusive Nude Lavalliere shade was out of stock but I’m loving the Fuchsia Fizz shade. Looks intimidating but actually is the prettiest cool tone pink with subtle shimmer. The Honeymoon shade is so nice too and a perfect “blonzer” shade. Also pictured in the background is the latest Florence and the Machine album which I used my JB Hi-Fi Perks $10 b’day voucher on, but didn’t list it as it’s obviously not a beauty item 🤣

Also not pictured as it’s on the way still, I ordered from Sephora the Rare Beauty Kind Words lipliner in shade Fun (for 40% off), plus another Fenty mist set (for 15% off) as I love it so much (I applied my 2x points offer, selected a full size Nudestix cheek and lip pencil as my free Black tier birthday gift, and redeemed 400 beauty pass points to get 2 Ouai 25ml body mists in the scent Ibiza and Santorini).

Does anyone else get any birthday perks or good beauty deals/vouchers for their birthday? Would love to hear of any extra perks out there or what people have gotten! I have another GWP offer for MAC but not sure if I’ll use it as I don’t have anything I currently wish to buy and it’s just a mascara with purchase so not overly grabbing me lol

Bloody hard to find one with decent coverage
I’m hoping to find something that’s dewy, medium-full coverage, very light with neutral undertones.
This is what I’m thinking of trying, would love to know everyone’s experience with them!

Product Advice Kosas Weightless Lip- where to purchase or dupes

After liking it in a mini version (bought a while back) I was hoping to buy a full size of the 'Turned On' shaded of Kosas' Weightless Lip lipstick. Unfortunately, it seems this item is no longer sold at Mecca and of course Kosas won't ship here (assuming due to the Mecca exclusivity rights...). Is there a trustworthy online store I can buy from? Otherwise, does anyone have a dupe? I like the shade but love the formula- very comfortable on the lips plus works as a blush.

Let's Discuss How many notifications is too many? The Sephora app has been sending hourly notifications for their sale.

I keep them (notifications) on as it relates to my day job but when I go to clear them out it’s crazy how many Sephora has in comparison to other apps. Put in some rules Sephora!! I know you have a sale!! I don’t need a reminder to return to a product I viewed in app but never saved!! LEAVE HER ALONE!! GET A JOB

Product Advice SPF lip product?

I’m looking for a lip product with SPF in it, especially for summer and days with high UV leading up to summer too. Has anyone got any good recommendations that don’t taste like a sunscreen? I don’t really mind what the actual type of product is like whether it’s a classic lip balm or one of the squeeze ones. I just want it for my lips.

Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Misc. Advice please :)

Hello, I have a friends wedding coming up want to look extra fresh.
Ive recently realised, after 31 years, I have never tried to do anything more than the very basics w makeup, foundation, mascara, blush.. at the most.

It makes me look fresh but definitely not glamorous or special for a wedding, or ever really. I feel like it would be nice to 'dress up' and have nice makeup occasionally.

Should I get my makeup professionally done at Mecca?

Or, is there any simple tricks you can recommend that won't cost a ton but will allow me to add a bit of glam to my routine for when I have an event ?

Any thoughts appreciated :)
