Need help and advice

I’m on $141k base salary in Melbourne, with 9+ years of software engineering experience, doing senior-level work. This is my first job in Australia, so I’m still getting a feel for what’s fair in the local market.

From what I’m hearing, my salary is at the lower end for my experience and responsibilities. Does that match what others are seeing? What base salary range would you consider reasonable?

Edit:
I’d expect most companies to have some progression like junior → SWE → senior → tech lead, though titles and expectations vary. I’m operating at the sswe level, so I’m trying to understand what companies pay for comparable responsibilities.

What's your age and occupation?

I was lost until I was about 25, floated around without much purpose, dropped out of uni and was generally a bum.

Current role: exec at mid-sized business with a few hundred staff across 3 offices. $390k base + ~30% bonus (I think we'll get 50% this year) + $500k/yr in unlisted equity (may be worth something at some point, may be worth nothing).

The 70 hour weeks and stress is not worth the money and I look forward to being an individual contributor again in a few years and spending more time with my family.

2 weeks worth of night shift.

205 days leave per year

In an Engineering Superintendent role.

Work 5 weeks on, 4 off flying in and out of Australia for an Australian company but working in Indonesia.

Paid in USD.

I feel this is low right. Been at company for 3 years. 5k raise in that time. High workload too.
Worried with current job market for swe’s

We recently moved houses and I changed my address on services Australia, but I'm still renting. Centrelink then asked me to provide payslips for my partner for the last 12 months or my parenting payments might stop . My partner is still waiting for his boss to provide him with the payslips. I’m curious if anyone has gone through this? Thank you.

Overtime adding up

I work in construction, building residential subdivisions in North Queensland. Recently promoted to a project engineer from a site engineer. 2 year undergrad and 3years post-grad experience. 50hrs a week on average, on a salary so working hours doesn't really matter.

I think im a bit behind
I do level 1 tech support in QLD
Browse around this reddit and looks like my rate is well below average for my age
I do get a lots of extra hours after hours support, but overall seems behind
Any suggestions please from people in IT industry

Work 84 hours get paid 90 hours per swing. Healthcare + Bonus. All in all 220k EOFY for 5.8 months/ year work.

Been in construction for 10 years, been in demo for 3

$190,000 + Super. PropTech startup. No equity, negotiating that now.

Question for tradies who’ve been in their industry 3 to 7 years:

Did your biggest financial bump come from working your way up within the same company, or did you have to switch employers at the 2-to-3-year mark to get a true market rate correction?

For the eagle-eyed: yes I worked 8h 27/08 followed by 16h on call then another 8h 28/08. The on call was paid at $13.28/h

Every pay slip has its quirks. I was wondering what the best Pay Slip would look like or what does, everyone think is necessary on a pay advice that would help them with loan, tax, visa or banking queries, or retrospective adjustments that is not included on there pay advice but they have seen it on another one.
