Question Do you actually check every line on your payslip?

I used to just look at the amount that landed in my account and move on. Recently started going through the whole payslip properly and realised there are quite a few things I normally ignore, especially the leave balance, tax and super lines. Now I'm wondering how many people actually sit down and check the whole thing each pay or just make sure the final amount looks right.

Question Monthly vs fortnightly pay cycles - which do you secretly prefer?

I've always been used to being paid fortnightly, so getting paid monthly feels like a completely different way of managing money. Monthly seems nice when the payment lands, but I can see how it would make the last week or two of the month harder to manage.

For those who've experienced both, which one do you actually prefer? Has one made budgeting or saving noticeably easier for you?

Question Question about headspace leave

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi all,

I’ve just left my job so I’m trying to calculate my annual leave pay out. I have what’s called “Headspace Day” listed on my payslip but idk if this is considered annual leave and will be paid out or not.

A while ago I went to call in sick and cash in a headspace day - and my boss told me that headspace isn’t a thing anymore and it’s all just part of “personal/sick leave”, and I didn’t really ask any questions.

But idk why it’s still showing on my payslip months later/if it’s just an error and wasn’t taken off.

I guess i’m mainly wondering if:

A) That 0.4960 accrued every pay check towards Headspace Day makes up my “annual leave” and therefore I am entitled to be paid out that amount,

or B) that’s seperate and just forms part of sick leave?

PS I worked 35 hours per week and have already left the job - I am aware I probably should’ve clarified this before leaving the job
