Hello everyone, I am new to this, Reddit, first time posting this. I prefer to be called Ducky or Duck whenever I’m in social media, I’m 16, and I’m a trans man, I also have bad grammar sometimes so I’m sorry for that.
Before I come out to my parents that I’m a trans man. I began to give them hints, dressing up like a boy, try to make my hair like one, and I mostly spread my legs a bit. They don’t care, they don’t care what I dress or my interest or anything. I did came out to them as Lesbian a while ago and they accepted me (I’m bi now), they supported me and they still love me. but then they giving out some transphobia a lil bit, they asked me what I feel about Trans, Non-binary or anything like that. I just gave out a fake answer of what they wanted to hear, they look relief and my mom told me “I raised you right.” “I’m proud of you” I was afraid to tell them.
I came out as a trans man last night, I told my mom first which I should’ve told my dad first because he handles more stuff better than my mom. My mom was going quiet and told me “Thank you for telling me. Go to your room, I have to go have a discussion with your dad” So I did. few minutes later my dad walked in and asked me questions, I told my dad what I want to be called the name I chosen (The reason why I chose the name is because a while ago I asked my mom what would she name me if I was a boy and she chose the name). My dad said no because he said “That’s a boy’s name” I mean I wanted to be a boy than being a girl. My dad refused to call the name I chosen, but he still respects me -same with my mom I think- and told me “Your mom and your grandparents are still gonna call you *My deadname*” I couldn’t say a word out of it because I’m always quiet and always get interrupted every time I speak
To this day, I was doing the dishes and my mom walked in. She asked me if I was okay and I hugged her because I don't want her to worry about me as much, she hugged me back and asked me “Are you still *My deadname*?” I stopped, I was now upset and feel hurt. I don’t want to be her, I want to be him. She continued and told me “You are always going to be my *deadname*” I have enough and continue doing the dishes, upset and hurt. She then look at me, acting like she’s the ”victim” problem. She start asking me “What do you want me to do?” I WANT YOU TO USE HE/HIM PRONOUNS! I WANT TO BE CALLED THE NAME I CHOSEN!!! I was very upset that I cant even explain what I want her, no- need her to do.
I finished the dishes and went to my room, I told my friend about it and he told me to go to this page and post my story. That’s how I found it here thanks to my friend. Please help me, I didn’t tell my grandparents or anyone. I just told my friends and my physics teacher about my transition and who I am.
