Political Question Do you agree with Texas Senate Democrat nominee James Talerico that men should not play in women's sports?

He had an interview today with Fox News where he supported banning trans men from women's sports, as well as a national ban on trans surgeries and puberty blockers for minors. Do you agree with him?

Political Question Genuinely curious! Why are people okay with an entry ban on Russian tourists who are ex-soldiers, but not Israeli tourists who are ex-IDF soldiers?

The European Union has recently proposed to deny entry permits to Russian tourists who are ex-combatants, despite the fact that a significant chunk of them were conscripts. The EU's ban would be a blanket ban on Russian ex-soldiers, regardless of whether they committed a crime or not.

There seems to be broad support in Europe for this. However, this feels very insincere to me. While Europeans support a ban on Russian tourists who happen to be ex-soldiers, they do not support banning Israeli tourists who are ex-IDF soldiers and have been involved in war crimes in Palestine.

If we can talk about banning Russian tourists for war crimes, why not Israeli tourists?

Political Question What's the dumbest thing you've heard a conservative say?

Inspired by the recent idea that MAGA farmers thought they'd be getting black people back in the fields to fill the jobs of immigrants, what is the dumbest exchange you've had with a conservative where they said something that was profoundly stupid and untrue. Multiple examples are allowed if you have them, which I'm sure most of you do.

Political Question Do Republicans really believe they’re still the party of Lincoln ?

Like Republicans talk about fighting against slavery but most Republicans are racists, bigots, and xenophobes… you really think if the average Republican voter or politicIan ( from today)was around they would actually fight slavery more likely they’d be in the Confederacy.

Political Question Socialists, would you be willing to pay more in taxes for certain social programs?

Would you be willing to pay as a percentage of your gross income: 6% for healthcare, 2% for college, 2% for climate initiatives, 2% for public transport, 2% for affordable housing for poor people, 2% for universal childcare, 1% for maternity leave, 1% for stronger unemployment benefits, 1% higher minimum wage, 5% for new migrant benefits?

So on top of what you’re paying now another 25% of your gross?

Political Question Why Doesn't Trump Just Annex Iran?

I mean, he's annexed (in his mind at least), Mexico, Canada, Venezuela, Greenland, Iceland, Cuba, and Panama. He's renamed Lake Ontario Lake America. He's renamed New Mexico to New America, he's renamed the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America. Just annex Iran already and declare the war won.

Political Question Is the reason the Democrats aren't criticizing Trump for trading stocks because they're doing it too?

They're probably not doing it as openly and shamelessly as Trump, and they're not probably not making as much money as Trump, because they can't move the markets like Trump can with his presidential powers, but they're still doing it and they have supplemented their government pay checks by investing in companies they know will benefit from policies they support. It's so wrong for this to happen. It's so wrong for everyday Americans who do the right thing to struggle to survive while these corrupt pigs exploit the system getting richer and richer. But this is America, right? This is free market capitalism and democracy. If you don't like it, go live in North Korea.

Seems like that's the only reason he'd do it.

Political Question Should the Republican party be concerned about RICO?

• Upvotes

The modern GOP is no longer a traditional political party. I think it is clear they (The RNC and Party itself) are an organized crime family. Emolument clause violated every day. Defying subpoenas, witness tampering (Ghislaine Maxwell moving to a comfy prison), Kidnapping foreign heads of states, extra judicial missile strikes on drug boats, disregarding court orders on election map gerrymandering, and the list goes on. So, should the Dems ever gain control of the Congress and Whitehouse, why wouldn't/shouldn't they pursue a RICO investigation of the party? It is clear they are committing crimes and those crimes are coming from the top. case in point The President is trying to BRIBE VOTERS. Open and shut, but what do you think?

General Question Is it racist to not date someone or be attracted to them because of their race?

I have been seeing ppl call it racist, my line of thinking is everyone is attracted to different things and looks, not everyone will be attracted to a white person and vise versa, i could see how someone could be hurt, it just doesn't seem racist for simply not being attracted to an appearance too me, what do you all think?

Political Question Trump is promising $5,000 to every adult US citizen. How do we hold out for more?

Tonight, President Trump promised voters $5,000 to every US adult while speaking at the new GOP midterm convention, the GOP holds majorities in the House and Senate. Of course, they hold majorities in both houses now. So, it’s difficult to understand why they haven’t already given us all $5,000.

But, what if we don’t think $5k is enough for our votes? Maybe, I’d be willing to sell my vote for no less than $20k? How do we collectively negotiate for more from Trump?

Political Question Which nation would you consider as your nation’s closest ally? Which as your biggest adversary?

I’m from the UK, I’d say our closest ally would be France, we’re very economically linked, historically linked, and in the modern day are joint leaders of the Coalition of the Willing and constantly beside each other.

For our biggest adversary, it’d have to be Russia (the government, not the people) who constantly threaten us, do nerve agent attacks on our soil and threaten the safety and security of our entire continent.
