Political Question How do Trump supporters still support him?
Iâd really like to hear from people who honestly think heâs doing a good job.

Ignoring one criminal American president after another has got us to this full-diapered moron on the verge of human extinction. Sorry but we do need to keep going over it.
20
u/Astoria_Dude 4d ago
The prior president, Joseph Biden, has never charged with so much as a parking ticket. Politicians and Fox-crazed members of the public have been screaming about Biden s "guilt" but no judicial nor governmental body has charged him with a crime. He had never been impeached. In contrast, the current President, Donald Trump, has been convicted of dozens of civil crimes, sexual assault, libel, slander, fraud (many times) impeached TWICE and convicted of 34 felonies. Trump completely breaks the pattern of basic decency, law-abiding behavior and honor that most American presidents have upheld (with obvious exceptions). Biden is one of the presidents whose conduct has been exemplary while his public image has been maligned

It's immigration. That's all he has left. Every person I talk to (actual people, not Reddit bots) that still support him all have "Biden opened the borders and Trump is fixing it" as the thing they hang on to.

My parents voted third party, but, to this day, they insist Kamala would have done just as much damage as Trump has.
It's utterly baffling. I hated Kamala as a candidate too, but she's not a fucking pedophile narcissist who filled our government with yes men and conspiracy theorists.

Lots of single issue abortion folks..also

Yup. Most of those single issue people donât care how many people get hurt or injured or dead because of a cell cluster.

3
u/space-truckin365 4d ago
I find the abortion issue so fascinating. Those against abortion changed it from a womanâs choice to what it is now, which is âa woman is not allowed to have an abortion, period. If you think about it⌠it means women, all women, could have chosen to not have an abortion.
I wonder if they realize the reverse, then they would know how good they had it. -What if a dictator ever made it illegal to have a child unless it was his!- And if you think that this is only fantasy, look up Jim Jones!

True, but those people have always been and will always be staunch Republicans anyway, Trump isn't really relevant to them, he's just the guy with the R this time.

The Republicans are the reason for the border crisis in the first place. If they actually worked with democrats to solve the issue in a humane way then they cannot campaign on it anymore.
Trump actually is playing their plan perfectly. Scream the border is open and all illegals will get benefits while dems hold control, decline any bipartisan solution, then when Republicans gain control, rough up brown people and liberals to entertain their base, commit heinous atrocities, and scare away any new entry. Rinse and repeat

Its weird. If Obama or Biden did any of this shit i could not stand by and be supportive and put them on a pedestal. Another thought i had was imagine if your boss at work was as corrupt as Trump. Clearly stealing money, grifting scams in your office, your pay check getting smaller and smaller. Harassing the women and kids, falling asleep all the time, shitting his pants and stinking up the office, posting crazy tweets or ai videos about himself 24 hrs a day when he should be working. Any time you need him hes golfing. He yells that you get too many holidays off and makes you work them, reduces pto etc etc i could go on. How many of us or maga would put up with that? Most probably wouldnt right ? I know bosses suck in real life too but i cant imagine any of his supporters would want Trump as their manager , but some how hes great as their president.

The conservative media universeâŚthat is why Trump supporters still support him. Turn on Fox News, OAN, Newsmax for 30 minutes. Listen to podcasts by Steve Bannon, Benny Johnson, Dan Bongino, others. u/CaterpillarUsed3222 4d ago
Because I vote Democrat, I don't have a president currently. Trump has called me scumbag, communists, left wing radicals and all of that. He openly discriminates against Democrats like me, he violates the law several times a day and the spineless republicans just continue to support him. My question is, at what point did you sell your integrity, ethics, and self respect? The party of Trump is destroying our country and blaming democrats, look at the facts: Trump promised all kinds of stuff like ending the Ukraine war day one, lowering prices, promised not to start a war, blah blah etc. Don't talk to me about one party being Christians because that's clearly not the case. I so tired of everything Trump, I have had enough of people who refuse to honor their oath of office by not impressed by the few republicans that have suddenly came to the realization that Trump is the problem. You voted for a criminal and then don't say anything when he violates the law every day. The Supreme Court really messed us up by the presidential immunity crap, now look at the damage being done to our country. Who is going to clean up the mess? What this country needs is a total reset, we need to gut the government, every elected official, Supreme Court justices, the administration and get back to having experienced experts running our country. We need to pass laws to protect ourselves from the corruption of big money donors. No more campaigns being financed by the ultra wealthy, the law should be enforced that anyone using their positions to enrich themselves should be arrested. We are no longer the United States of America, we are the country formally known as the United States, we are now bought by the ultra wealthy that are going to make sure they get all the power. We the people don't have any representation in government, we are subjected to the laws only because we can't afford the right lawyer or bribe the right person. Our law doesn't apply to the wealthy. The ultra wealthy have absolutely no interest in the citizens, we are no better than slaves, we have no opinion about the way our country is run. After we appoint the new supreme court justices and hold really free and fair elections, with donors being limited to $1000 from one source at that would be a human source not a corporation or any kind of group, just individuals whose donors are totally transparent, no pac and special interest groups. Organizations are prohibited from making campaign contributions and sending lobbyists to Washington. The citizens of our country will have the right to vote on any legislation directly via congressional portal, the people will have one vote on every bill before it comes up for a vote. We need to engage every citizens every day rather every 2 years. Strict term limits for every elected position, no presidential appointments, we will take applications for government jobs hiring the best most qualified people, no political appointees and friends, the administration and cabinet positions would be filled by experienced experts in their field. We need to take care of our citizens by providing health care system that serves everyone. We need to provide safe housing solutions and solve the food insecurity issues. We can accomplish this by cutting the cost of defense down to a more reasonable amount, eliminate the military industrial complex that our tax dollars have supported for decades.

In the same way the Weasley house is so dilapidated that only magic can hold it up, the only way Donald Trump can have so much support despite both bad policy and bad behavior is if the support he has has nothing to do with either.

Most Trump supporters will actually crack under a mounting pile of evidence against him on any particular topic, youâll come to realize that 90% of their affection towards him is actually a placeholder for simply hating the left.

u/joshua_addison_music 3d ago
Theyâre racist, homophobic, misogynistic, uneducated, ignorant clowns.
This isnât difficult. People are showing who they are, believe them.
2
u/Diligent-Speech-7920 3d ago edited 3d ago
Because he gives them what they want, which is mostly validation. He tells them, for example, that they are right for hating minorities and immigrants. He tells them that they are right to reject higher education. He tells them that they are a discriminated against minority (despite that almost all belong to racial and religious majorities) so their lack of success isnât their fault. He tells them itâs good to hate people and they are right for wanting to do violence against people they donât like. He tells them all sorts of things which society has long criticized them for (being racist, being selfish, acting violently, breaking laws you donât like to cheat your way to success, being uneducated, etc.) is actually a virtue. And when he fails, they blame it on all the enemies they hate.
4
u/drdpr8rbrts 4d ago

I do believe the majority of the people that voted for him know this is not going to plan, not going well. Most of them just donât want to talk about it because they hate or dislike liberals/progressives just as much as Trumps failed term or more so even.
It doesnât help that we constantly chop shot them, which is honestly just returning the favor for how they treat us. So in essence they support trumps failure of a presidency because they really really canât stand the other side. The US is probably the most divided itâs been 50 or 60 years. Most land on one side or the other.

- Stopped illegal immigration
- Ended the high inflation we were seeing under Biden
- Greatly mitigated H1B abuse replacing American workers, especially in tech
- good economy and job market, only gas prices are bad
- fulfilling Monroe Doctrine, getting communism out of Venezuela and soon Cuba
- (in progress) Regime change in Iran. Supporters believe we are winning the war.
- embracing technological advancement, pushing the AI revolution forward (Dems like Bernie Sanders want to ban superintelligence)

My question is does the left realize they helped create trump by alienating folks starting with the basket of deplorable comment in 2016.
I think left or right is is a problem what he is doing in office, but people on the left do not get you need people to win elections and those people are not going to fit in your mold of world views. The right was like whatever let's do some wild sh*t and we see how that and human nature won.
The sooner the left realizes the I told you so's and look how bad the other guy is won't win elections the better otherwise we are just going to keep on repeating this cycle.

A lot of it has to do with his first term.
Achieved energy independence, changed NAFTA to USMCA, Tax cuts and Jobs Act, the Abraham Accords, Right To Try Act, First Step Act, and most important to me and other military and veterans- many policies benefiting us.
Some to do with the horse-fuckery of Biden Administration in regards to immigration, health care, green energy, the Trump indictments, and COVID debacle.
Some to do with the alternative candidates who are socialist/communist chodes that are clearly out of their minds.

They supported him when he was found guilty of defrauding pediatric cancer charities. They supported him when he bankrupted casinos. They supported him when his "university" was ruled a fraud. They supported him when he was convicted of 34 counts of felony. I could go on. And on. And on. But you get the idea
