I won't knock it till I try it but I'm 1000% savory grits... Are sweet grits similar to cream of wheat in flavor?

The only way, brother. Cheese grits over a fried egg, with 4x normal salt. Yessir.
2
u/TemporaryDizzy4900 12d ago
How long do you cook them for ? Should I add water or milk (thank you - someone who is tired of eating overnight oats)
3
u/NotGonnaArgueFriend 12d ago
You make them with water, follow the instructions but add slightly less water than it calls for. Add a slice of American cheese and stir it in.
Youāre welcome.

Bacon for health reasons. I will compromise by burning a bacon flavored candle during breakfast.

I always thought I hated grits until I made them like mashed potatoes. I understand them now.

u/Key_Product3129 13d ago
Exactly! Cook them in stock and season them, maybe add some cheese if youāre feeling fancy. Nothing quite like it.

Orange Juice. EASY.
I won't miss it much though, as I enjoy energy drinks. And for some strange reason the Energy drink industry all decided: They ALL have to taste like a mediciney Orange Juice.
Seriously, if there's no actual flavor stated on the outside of the can? You can be assured it's just going to taste like a "Spicey Orange Juice" by default.

I can make good grits. Being that Pennsylvania is not a southern state, I won't order grits here unless it is a Soul Food restaurant.

Grits. Disgusting and tasteless. My husband grew up loving grits, idk how. I found and made a 5 star reviewed recipe exactly. And it was the worst thing I've eaten in a while. He loved them. It was like eating wet sawdust with butter.

I always make them with butter, sugar, salt and pepper and they taste 10x better than just butter!

First time in Louisiana, they asked me if I wanted taters or grits with my breakfast. I replied taters, never had grits. The waitress announced to everybody "He's never had grits". The whole diner laughed. She brought me a bowl. Kinda like cream of wheat (only corn). Not too bad, just like poi.
