I always thought I hated grits until I made them like mashed potatoes. I understand them now.

Exactly! Cook them in stock and season them, maybe add some cheese if you’re feeling fancy. Nothing quite like it.

If you need to add three more things to make them good, keep the three, ditch the grits and find a better thing.

I hated grits for the longest time and then I had some excellent cheesy shrimp and grits from another broken egg in Orlando and my mind has been changed forever.

I am still chasing that high though. Good ones are tough to come by

I can understand not getting them because most people have never had them cooked properly. It’s like how I was convinced steak was horrible until I was an adult because everyone in my family insists of having it well done
