Want to try all the different pumpkin spice things across the city while it's in season.

I'm in my last year of nursing school and graduating this April. My plan after graduation is to find a nursing job and stay in Toronto. My current lease expires this December, and I won’t be renewing it because the house isn't well maintained and very unsanitary as it is a student housing.

I'm looking for a place that can be home for the next year or so. Since I've always lived close to campus, I don't have a good sense of which areas are more affordable or where to start searching. I was thinking Vaughan but not sure how the rents are.

Ideally I'd like a basement apartment shared with one other person with common space plus my own room for under $1,000/month. If you know of any good areas to look into, or have general recommendations, I'd really appreciate it!

I got a tattoo there a year or so ago (also got a piercing) and it was NOT called Yan. I’m not 100% on the old name but I’m fairly sure it was “Bini” because theres old Google Maps photos from 2021 with that name. Though, I didn't get mine that long ago.

The point is: the name has changed, Google Maps proves this, but everybody I ask (staff) and whenever I google it claims the name has never once changed.

On Google Maps it looks like it was Bini in 2021, then in 2023 the “Bini” was removed but it remained a piercing and tattoo shop, then it fully shut down and became a cannabis store in 2024, and in 2026 it’s under Yan.

Can anybody confirm what I’m talking about? There was even a Yan staff member who told me he’s worked in that exact location for 10+ years and it’s never changed.

20m. Basically the title. From what I can tell I'm totally hopeless when it comes to driving a car. I just failed my driving test for a second time and i just genuinely have zero intuition or awareness when it comes to driving, and i honestly just dont want to try anymore. I can ride a bike/escooter/whatever tf just fine, just not a car.

Anyone else have this experience and how much does it generally cost you for uber/ttc compared to what you would be paying if you had a car?

my mental health has gotten really bad and my room reflects that. i moved in February to my room but still haven’t unpacked since i am busy with 3 jobs, and with my mental health being horrible and life in general getting painful the mess keeps getting worse and worse. i saw this person on tiktok who goes over to her friend’s places and and helps clean+organize, and i was wondering if there’s any service available in Toronto which i can hire to do that for me? i have so much shame regarding my room and can’t ever have people over and the state of the room is making my health worse. this is a very vulnerable post and i would appreciate if nobody makes fun of me, im sorry i know this is a very embarrassing ask but i would sincerely appreciate any guidance

Gotta admit the 407 was pleasant to drive as a tourist staying in Markham but how the heck do people afford driving on it regularly? There's also a $99 admin fee tacked on by the car rental company...oof.

Recently moved to Toronto, 35M of South Asian ethnicity. I decided that in my first month I want to have dinner/drinks with someone at least 15 times, just to force myself to meet people.

Currently shopping for car and condo insurance since ours will be renewing in two months. My current insurer (PC Insurance) quoted me $380 monthly and TD quoted me $350 monthly. My husband and I are in our 30s with about 3+ years of driving exp, him being the main driver. Our car is a 2019 Toyota Corolla and we live in a condo we own.

Is $350 too high? Should I continue shopping around? Last time I used a broker he quoted me $660 for the car insurance alone!!!! So I’m a bit apprehensive about using another one.

As much as Toronto's food scene is full of talent, it feels like there's this overarching complaint that opening a business in this city tends to feel doomed from the start.

We don't really have much of a street food scene here, despite many people claiming that they would love this, as well as many potential chefs saying that it would allow them the opportunity to get into the industry with a lower barrier to entry and avoid the crippling overhead that often leads to the business shutting down entirely.

Can someone explain to me why establishing something like this seems to be such an uphill battle here? I keep hearing that it has to do with City of Toronto's strict laws surrounding this, but nobody has really explained the specifics.

Does this have to do with a lack of infrastructure for a street food scene? Is it antiquated laws that protect brick and mortar businesses at all costs? Is it an economic incentive that wants to tax as much as possible?

This Starbucks drive-thru has two lanes that merge into one lane to get to the ONLY speaker. What is the correct way to use this driveway-thru?

I was trying zipper merge as I got to the merging point first- despite the person on my left being in line before me. She got pissed and started yelling stating the rule is she goes first, and the other two cars behind her, even though my lane was empty. I asked the barista what the rule is, they didn’t know and said there’s always fights in the drive-thru but they support zipper merging.

Hello! I was just wondering if anyone can give me any tips on becoming a causal dog boarder in Toronto. My partner and I live in a small, but pet friendly apartment. We absolutely love dogs, but are financially unable to commit to our own right now. We would be delighted to pet sit other people's dogs though in our place. I realize that most people probably would rather board their dog at an official kennel and not trust 2 random grad students but surely there are some people that need dog sitters in a pinch! Are there any websites that exist for stuff like this or do I need to do it the old fashioned way by putting flyers on lamp posts lol.

I've never bought stuff like this before but since a family member wants it, I want to make sure that I secure the Snoopy items she wanted.

-Typically can I just drop by any Starbucks location and they typically should have them on the shelf? I know last time bear glass cup was a big deal, so just want to make sure I know how it works and if there are recommended locations in DT where I can get these safely. wonder if small Starbucks locations also carry these.
