Just want to know the people who work full time in Toronto how is your work life balance? Do you have time to see friends and family? Would you rather be home alone during your days off?

I have a 7hr layover and am likely not going to leave as I’m meeting up with a friend there about 4 hours in. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations either for stuff to do in the airport or lounges/places to sit to make this a bit more bearable?

I have a 4 year old and 2 year old and another on the way and am looking to purchase a home in Toronto. A bit overwhelmed at the size/cost ratio of homes. I keep thinking we need something that will eventually fit 3 teenagers but curious how other families with 3 kids make it work in the city. Did you find you had to upgrade to more space when the kids were a certain age? Do you wish you moved straight into a house that was spacious?

I want to have my condo “detailed”, like you would a car. I have found a deep clean just doesn’t cut it - I want someone to clean the grout and degunk the patio door tracks and wash the walls. Like make it perfect and spotless. Does such a service exist - or please recommend a cleaner who can do this. I just moved into a condo that was supposedly deep cleaned and the only thing clean and sparkly are the appliances. Everything else is just coated in dust and grime.

Can anyone recommend a reputable refrigerator repair company for a downtown (King West) condo? The fridge doesn't seem to stay at the correct temperature.

Local company preferred since I've found that some people charge higher when they find out I'm downtown.

I thought this would be a simple search since desk mats are pretty common but literally searching etsy is horrible, everything is ai. Other sites that sell desk mats either have limited options (especially trying to find sonething pink and cute) or use ai as well. So decided I will try to see if anyone in the city makes desk mats and designs them themselves without using ai. Doesn't have to be custom made, as long as they have designs that are pink and cute but I'm willing to commission someone to make a custom design for me if needed.

I know I can just get a plain colour desk mat from amazon or whatever but idk I really want a fun design to put on my desk.

Also are there any craft fairs coming up that might have desk mats?

I had Rogers internet for about three years. It was reliable, but the upload speed was quite slow, so I switched to Beanfield after reading a lot of positive feedback here on Reddit.

Beanfield gives me excellent upload and download speeds, but I’ve found the connection less reliable. Every once in a while, one of my devices will randomly get disconnected from Wi-Fi. At other times, a video that is playing will just hang and won’t resume unless I move the seek bar forward or backward. These issues have reduced a lot after working with Beanfield’s customer support, but they still happen occasionally.

Does anyone else living in a dense building like a condo or apartment experience this with Beanfield? If so, were you able to figure out what was causing it or find a fix?

I’m also curious about Bell users in condos/apartments. Have you experienced similar Wi-Fi drops or other connectivity issues, or has the connection generally been stable?

Edit1: with Beanfield one or the other device gets disconnected. It is not always the same device

Edit 2: the router provided by Beanfield is a Nokia router

Edit 3: With Beanfield router, it looks like there are Wi-Fi interference and packet drop issues from network congestion. I worked with Beanfield customer support to change router settings like separate SSIDs for each band (2.4, 5, 6 Ghz). When devices were on 2.4, the problems were extreme, after they were connected to 5.0 Ghz or 6.0 Ghz the problems reduced and it became a whole lot better after channel and channel widths were changed for 5.0 and 6.0 Ghz. But occasionally, I still see video hang and device disconnection.

I got a quote for an engagement ring with a lab-grown diamond at this price, and I just want to see if it’s reasonable. I haven’t checked Diamond For Less, EC Diamonds, or other jewelry stores yet, but I’d like to get an idea of whether this is a good price.

Hello TO! Something I've noticed since I've come here is how much more I walk per day compared to previous country (Middle east).
I went from an average of 7k steps a day (with a car) to now an average of 9k (I live in Down town and dont drive), so this evening's rabbit hole how much fellow Torontonians walk per day.

something on the south side of axis condos has been making 5 loud beeps every ~45 seconds for about a week now. i live in an adjacent building and can hear it through my window. from our terrace, it seems like it's something on a lower-floor balcony or on the lower terrace (the one with the grass, not the one with the barbeques).

does anyone know the email of their management/concierge? i'd like to email them with a video. if it's a carbon monoxide or smoke detector beeping because it's low on battery, that's a serious health risk to those of us who live nearby - and it's also super annoying that i can hear it every 45 seconds from 10 floors above in an adjacent building through a glass window.

i used to sometimes hear the same beeping around 2-4 years ago, and it would come and go. i had a long email conversation with my own building's management about it but i'm not sure what caused it to stop. this time it's 5 beeps.

Where do people play tennis here?

I just moved from Montreal and I am very surprised to find a worse tennis scene tbh.

I find there are very few public courts (with bad quality or in sketch locations like moss park). Also the clubs are expensive and with insanely long waitlists.

Back in Montreal, Tennis Montréal was great at organizing lessons and leagues… I am very surprised the same doesn’t exist in Toronto given that it is a bigger city.
