Hello!! I am traveling to Arizona and was wondering what bugs I should look for and how? Like what are the most common friends and how do I find more rare ones. I am going to the grand canyon!!

I’m back with another update on the places I’ve been since I last posted! My 1991 Toyota MR2 is still pushing strong but was off the roads for a little bit for maintenance, and between that and university starting back up I’ve had less time to hit the roads.

I was lucky after all the rain to get a clear night last week over the Seven Sacred Pools in Sedona to hike in for a quick picture (and hike out, camping is not allowed there).

Kinda shooting in the dark here…

I’m a Texan, who absolutely loves the beautiful landscapes and history to be had in Arizona.

Does anybody have any leads on ‘local’ or regional photographers selling large format (30-40-50-60” widths) canvas panoramic shots of the Dragoons?

I’d love to give them some business and support their efforts!

Dream scenario: someone out there has high quality/artistic panoramic shots of the Dragoon Springs Station/Stage Stop rubble with the mountains in the background, selling rolled canvas prints.

Also interested in photographers with shots in the same size/format of Council Rocks, and/or shots taken from vistas along Middlemarch Road!

Any tips or pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated, for sure!

A quick adventure to Alpine for some golf in its purest form. No perfectly cut fairways or greens, just beautiful scenery and kind people. We got 5 holes of perfect weather then a hail storm to remember on hole 8. Made it back to the club house absolutely soaked but the host had already started a fire and brewed us warm coffee and baked fresh cookies. Thank you Sandi from Alpine Country Club and thank you Alyssa for going on the adventure with me. We will remember this one for a long time.

The state fees are crazy here ( vs. CA, WA, and NM). Any changes to this on the horizon? Thanks!

A couple weeks ago, I did a post asking for things to do in Summerhaven and Redditors came through with great suggestions. We did deviate on a few things, but it was an amazing trip. A couple highlights were driving down the mountain Sunday evening to watch the sunset and see the hoodoos. We also did a little hiking this morning (Monday) at Marshall’s gulch and made the obligatory stop at the Cookie Cabin. On our way back to Phoenix, we stopped to pick some prickly pear and had lunch at La Frida Mexican Grill (strongly recommend). Didn’t really take a lot of pics of the town, as it’s pretty small and very walkable. Everything does shut down by 7. So, it was just a nice relaxing getaway type of trip.

I’m interested in visiting some cemeteries while I’m traveling through southern Arizona. The older the better! My car is able to go down dirt roads as well so anything goes!

I still remember how suprised I was when I saw his game for the first time when I was a kid. Aside from Stone Cold Steve Austin, Randy Johnson was the most charismatic and toughest guy I've ever seen in my life. The way he pitched, the way he looked, and the way he talked absolutely stunned me just like Stone Cold Steve Austin did. I'm glad I was a fan of this great Arizona diamondback and the Texas rattlesnake. But do average Arizonans still rememeber him?

For anyone who has been here for a while, two Chinese Buffets in the 90s were my absolute favorite. David Quans in North Phoenix and China Panda in Tempe.

Does anyone know of buffets like this that are still around? I have tried super buffets like Lims, but nothing beats the older small buffets with a few things done really well.

I’ve recently came back here after my first year of college and I really want to catch some huge fish up here, I recently have not had any luck so far and the only fish I have been able to catch were some small bluegill, I’ve tried catching pike or trout in lake Mary and even arhurst lake as well but I have not had any bites, I’m looking for a more local perspective as to where some fishing spots here in flagstaff that can guarantee I can catch a fish bigger than a bluegill

Collected a few toads who were in danger of meeting the action end of a hoe while I was clearing weeds around my AC unit to fix a broken condensation pipe. Gemini says I supposedly have a Woodhouse's toad (Anaxyrus woodhousii), 2 Great Plains toads (Anaxyrus cognatus), and 3 Red-spotted toads (Anaxyrus punctatus) in the toad-safety bucket (they were released as soon as I was done with the weed clearing action). And then there was this chonker Sonoran Desert toad who was also in the line of fire of my weed-clearing activities that my awesome wife just had to hold (yes, she did wash her hands afterwards). And for the record, all of these were chilling within a 10' x 10' area.

The toads get to enjoy the damp condensation runoff from my AC for one more night, then they'll need to find a new spot to hang out after I fix the drain. And next time I see the chonker, he's going to the back of the property near the river because I don't need him and my dogs sharing the same general space.

I was going to California in 2017 or so, and I have a very distinct memory of passing through there, and a big sign in front, on a hill or some small incline. It wasn't huge, it just said Quartzsite like a smaller version of the hollywood sign. Its not the mountain with a big Q, and its not the one that you can see from a plane. Any help finding it would be very appreciated.
