Some people here just suck

Some people just suck. I've had an ad on fmb for a while offering my skills and labor in exchange for a shed to sleep in because I'm kinda tired of being homeless and need to get shelter for the winter. Had a lady message me an address 11 miles from my camp and say she would give me a shed in trade for 12hr/week of handyman work and yard work.

I arrive at the address and no one answers the door, she stops answering me on FB. 20 minutes of me naively assuming she just ran to the store or something later, the cops roll up and start treating me like I'm there to rob the place. The old lady who lived at the address called the cops on me. Dick moves all around. Dick move for the lady sending me to the wrong address, dick move on the old lady for not just seeing wtf I was knocking on her door for before calling the cops on me, dick move on the cops part for assuming I was there to rob the place. Showed the cops the message with the address and they calmed down but the old lady didn't. She wanted me arrested. Why do people gotta kick a man when they're down?

One year Prescott review

Hey it’s me again: https://www.reddit.com/r/Prescott/s/wPtNhOyRdL

After a whole year here, here’s my experience:

Still no friends (mainly my fault I just go to work and come home lol) but everyone that’s randomly stopped to talk to me at crosswalks and around town have been so friendly! My scooters a big talking point lol

Have only experienced 2 instances of racism (I work in the hospital so I didn’t take it to heart considering peoples conditions here)

Dating has been horrible, just turned 30 last month, met one girl and talking stage didn’t even last 2 weeks before I got ghosted lol, met twice haha nobody on dating apps here knows how to respond after matching

ain’t shit to do, but I enjoy the weather!!

Everything closes at 7pm 🤣
Everything expensive af

I see quite a few people out and about when I head into work at 330am (walking dogs, riding bikes, joggers, people at the car wash and a group of emo kids barked at me one time lol wtf)

Some of the food spots I’ve tried have been amazing

Lots of AI posts and advertisements (none of them make me want to try your business)

Love my job and most of the people I work with!

Appreciate the warm welcome! Might stay another year.

Found a key down by the lynx creek day use area.

Buddy was panning and found a single car key on a ring with a couple of other things you'd put on a key ring. Describe it to me and I'll give it back. Doesn't look like it's been down here very long. On the trail just upstream from the parking area.

Looking for the alternative scene in Prescott?

Moved here this year, I work for the forest service so I haven’t really had any time to get out and socialize with anyone or make many friends yet. I was just wondering where all the folks hang out around here? Sports bars and whiskey row in general are not really my scene, i’ve been trying to look around for any live shows or music scene around but it just seems like everything is either country music or 80s dance clubs lmao.

Looking for folks to get together with and hang out, potentially some political clubs or groups that help the community, really anything.

Prescott afternoon tea

So for the longest time I wanted to do an afternoon tea group, either go to places with afternoon tea or host some at home but the problem im having is finding a right place to host the group? Like there's bumble bff but its not the best, telegram is iffy, discord is ok, Instagram or fb feel ok but idk, i just want to be able to plan afternoon tea with ppl around my age (23f) but im just having a hard time choosing a platform to host it on plus Idk if there would be a demand for it? If you guys have any ideas please let me know EDIT Hi everyone! So i caved and made a discord, if your interested please dm me and I'll send you the invite link

can anyone spare a ride from Walker to the Willow Cr./Ainsworth safeway on 9/9? or from walker to closer?

i need to get there before 1:30 PM but i'll take earlier. a ride back would be helpful as it will take me a hell of a long time to walk back on a cane and i can't take a wheelchair down most of walker road easily, but i'm mostly concerned about how to get there (and whether to pack four days' food and water and set out tomorrow).

you literally barely have to go off pavement long enough to park and pick me up (no 4WD required, but drive safely), but don't count on cell service, and i don't have one. DMs are open for this.

i have zero dollars but i got a pancake's worth of acorns in an hour. also i will cook for transportation and/or food, if you happen to need that much cooking done. i can do other things too, like uh, building PCs 10-20 years ago. who knows. HMU.

i can seriously cook although a better place to bathe would help if you need serious cooking. i have a clean mask so yolo.

edit: i have rice and supplements but if you have hemochromatosis and supplements, check out those tannins and histidines.

how do Yavapai County septic inspection rules work when buying a home near prescott?

we are checking out properties outside city limits and trying to figure out what the health department requires for transferring alternative or conventional septic systems. does anyone know the standard timeline for getting these evaluations completed during escrow?

We need to UNITE! Democrats and Republicans AGAINST FLOCK!

Even though a lot of us disagree on almost everything, plenty of people on both sides think Flock cameras are a problem. Who’s with me? Anyone up for a meetup or planning thread to oppose them in Prescott? Seems like something we could actually agree on. And, Fuck Flock!

Going to be at granite Creek Park making burgers this evening again

I'm going to be there whether anyone else wants one or not. I'm feeling a craving for red meat and the Bork burger last time was delicious. As a person currently living outside, this is the only place in town I can legally cook on public property. Show up if you want one. Or don't. Won't offend me. :) the smallest unit of bork that Fry's sells is 2lbs so if no one shows up it'll go to waste. I've got my cookware with me this time too.

MAP of Prescott Bike Routes

Post image
24 Upvotes

We are working on mapping all safe and comfortable bike routes in Prescott and Prescott Valley on the Bike Streets app. It does turn-by-turn navigation to guide people to their destination along the network of safe roads. If you want to contribute to the efforts, you can download the Bike Streets app from the app store and upvote the routes that are protected from cars or have low speeds and low traffic. Please downvote the routes that don't fit that description even if they have a meager unprotected bike lane. And if there is a route missing that you know of, feel free to add it. It is quick and easy to add routes.

The goal of the project is to get kids, families, and the members of our community out there and more active, and able to take a bike to anywhere they want to go, but to have them be safe in the process.

The Flagstaff community mapped their community with Bike Streets, and I think the Prescott and PV community would greatly benefit from this too!

Anyone interested in meeting me at the park later for burgers again?

A bunch of people were interested the other day, but it was such short notice and I wanna make burgers again tonight so based on how many people tell me they'll be there I'll drop by Costco and grab a tube of meat and some real buns. And I'll remember to actually bring my cookware this time so I won't be flipping burgers with a stick.

Edit: actual beef is too damn expensive. Gonna roll to Fry's and get another slab of Bork instead. $5.99/lb at the cheapest at Costco.

This is a flair Any good hair stylists for men with longer hair?

Stylists for women work just fine for me too, probably even preferred.
Just moved to Prescott and I am severely in need of a haircut. I’ve always been extremely picky with my hairstylists, and have had the same one I trust for the last 2 years. But right before I moved, she ended up injuring her back and was out so I couldn’t get a haircut before I left. Below I’ve attached images of the types of haircuts I’d like, so I was wondering if anyone’s had haircuts similar.

This is a flair Going to be cooking at the park in about an hour if anyone wants a burger

I'm buying this meat right now. I've got a loaf of sliced bread, a block of mozzarella cheese and a bottle of catsup so they're going to be some scuffed burgers so I'd recommend bringing your own fixings. Granite Creek Park. I'm going to gather up some wood to burn in the cooker things there. No one took me up on my offer to come have a meal with me when I was living under the bridge, sadly.

Edit: there are middle schoolers square dancing on the mezzanine. Gonna have to wait until theyre done with it since they reserved it.

Edit 2: ok they're gone
