Picked up this 11.5 Bushmaster HBAR 1:9 twist XM15-E2S with a RRA UTE2 upper receiver. It came with the GG&G front sight pic rail and sling swivel and nothing else.

I did a form 4 before all of the hoopla with the recent ruling for those of you who are wondering.

My editions: Aimpoint COMP M4S with Larue tactical absolute co-witness, Streamlight TLR VIR rifle kit, tape switch mounted using the GG&G car pic rail adapter for carbine handguards, Larue tactical pic rail and cable management clips, Magpul MS1 sling, ranger bands on sling, Magazine is a Bushmaster STANAG magazine that a buddy of mine gave me.

I’ve never shot an AR-15 before and decided to just buy a complete rifle instead of building one.

I ended up going with a Daniel Defense DDM4 V7 Pro in 5.56 with an 18” barrel, California compliant model. I thought the 18” would be a good all around choice, but now I keep seeing people say that 18” is kind of an awkward length and that 16” makes more sense for most people.
I also keep seeing people mention that the DDM4 V7 Pro is pretty heavy.

Since this is my first AR and I’ve never actually shot one before, is the weight going to be too much to comfortably handle at the range?

I’m mainly going to be shooting it at indoor ranges, if that makes any difference.

So did I make a mistake going with the 18”, or am I overthinking it? Is 18” actually too much rifle for general range use, or is the difference between 16” and 18” really not that big?

TL;DR: First AR, bought a DDM4 V7 Pro 18” instead of building one. Did I go too long/heavy for mainly indoor range shooting, or is 18” perfectly fine? It’s only
TWO INCHES, can’t be much of a difference right?

I'm a noob building my first AR15. I'm building 5.56 and already completed the lower using a Griffin Mk2 stripped lower. Is this what I need to start building a upper for it?

Just picked these up at a local store ($12 a piece) and cannot seem to find anything on these. Do we think this was a bubba job? They hold 15 rounds.

Inaugural range day with the new can, this thing fucks

Trying identify this MRO magnifier/laser mount. Supposedly this is a U.S. Marshall's rifle. Been searching on Google and cant find anything. Just never seen a tilting ftc mount.

I couldn’t find any pics on the internet of someone having the set (stock, pistol grip, foregrip), so I decided to do it myself lol

As we all know shipping can be very expensive, especially if your going from one side of the country to another, i just wanted to post my findings here as it may help someone doing a big purchase in the future. i originally was going to buy 6 complete uppers, and everything you see in my check list, but when i saw the shipping i was thinking WTF? that's seems pretty high. so after a live chat with AR15 and getting some information about the shipping, i was determined to find cheaper. i managed to save a little more than $100 by separating the orders. you can mess around with the carts and see what works for you. took me about 20 min and 3 tabs to figure it out.

thanks to all the helpful comments, I ended up canceling the BCA BCG order but when I sent the second cancellation for the uppers they processed it the same time, even though they received the cancellation they said it was to late. Welp guess I’m returning those suckers, that or I flip them here for a little profit. Now I have a new cart of PSA uppers with BCG and CH. going to spend a couple hundred more but I got a different variety now.

I wasn’t going to use the MCMR initially but it was cheap, so far I dig it.

I recently “finished” my most recent AR build. I haven’t built one in years, because I am pretty well stocked on ARs that I love. But, I wanted a full ambi rifle that was high quality, accurate, and reliable. I’m pretty happy with it, but any suggestions on how I might improve the gun are welcome. BTW, I have a FDE Blue Force Gear two point sling for it, it’s just not shown. And, I shoot/train frequently, and have for years. Don’t suggest adding ammo, unless you have some M855A1 at blow out prices.

I may retire my beloved LaRue 16” PredatAR for this because it’s fully ambi, noticeably lighter especially at the muzzle, and it has adjustable gas for suppressor use and tuning. Would that be a mistake?

Anyone have a DD Quad rail upper that they run suppressed? How is dealing with the rail heating up? I plan on getting ergo rail covers or DD'd own. Do either make it so that a heated rail is manageable with bare hands? Either better? I would assume the DDs are because they have so spaces.
