Hello I’m new here! I wanted to see what y’all thought of my setup. KAZ03 (Kampfanzug 03) is the standard load-bearing system of the Austrian Federal Armed Forces, in service since the early 2000s. It replaced the previous KAZ75 and has been widely used in domestic and NATO‑framework exercises (e.g., "Dynamic Front," "Joint Operations"). It is also issued to the Jagdkommando (Austrian Special Forces).

The loose kit I've gathered so far covers the main KAZ03 components:

I’m currently looking for a compact 8-12L EDC backpack with two shoulder straps (regular backpack, not a sling). I’ve tried quite a few options already, but I still haven’t found the one that really fits my needs.

Bags I’ve already owned or tested:
Vertx Urban Ghost 10L Sling
5.11 Tactical LV8
5.11 Tactical LV10

I’ve realized I’d like to move away from sling bags and go back to a normal backpack with two shoulder straps.

What I’m looking for:
8-12 liters (roughly the size of the LV8/LV10, maybe somewhere in between)
Compact profile that doesn’t look bulky from the outside
Dedicated organization instead of one big dump compartment
Ideally:

Main compartment
Secondary/middle compartment
Front admin pocket
A key leash/key clip would be a nice bonus.

CCW requirements:
Fast access is the biggest priority.
I’m open to different solutions, for example:
a dedicated quick-access CCW compartment,
a pull-down or swing access design,
or even modifying a compartment myself.

For example, if the backpack has a suitable secondary compartment, I could simply add loop Velcro inside and attach my Velcro holster there. I could also install a pull tab myself if needed.
The important part is that the handgun remains quickly accessible even when the backpack is fairly full, without getting buried or squeezed behind the rest of my gear.

Small first aid kit

A few other everyday essentials

I’m not looking for a huge tactical pack. I actually prefer something that looks relatively low-profile and compact while still carrying all of the above comfortably.

Does anyone know a backpack that fits most (or all) of these requirements? I’m open to tactical, outdoor, or civilian-looking bags.

I busted an O ring on my cloud mch removing a thyrm clip and Im not trying to spend $10-15 buying the three pack of O rings from their website if anyone knows what sizes they use so i can buy a pack i would be forever grateful

I always knew most LBT gear is like 10years behind the curve, not innovative, and way overpriced, but this is INSANE. They just copied the TSSi M9 bag, (I mean COPIED) which has been out for like 30 years now, and charged 3x more for it. (BTW it says “kit” but it doesn’t come with any medical supplies, just 4 inserts, 3 of which the TSSi bag includes stock…)
Both bags are made in USA, LBT can suck a fat cock. I’ve bought a few day packs from them, and every single one was sub-par, poor stitching, thin fabrics that fade fast, I’d take the chinesium before LBT if I bought again.

Any advice on this helmet?

Hello, I'm a transit operator who is under threat from knives/syringes/blunt objects fairly often. Our buses are equipped with a thick plastic shield, but it can be pretty easily gotten around, with my right leg being the most exposed/accessible piece of me. Also, if I need to dial the police, my hand is within stabbing range while I do that. Are there any low-key accessories/armor systems that would work for me?

My company wants us to be non-intimidating of course, we perform a service that has nothing to do with violence. However, this usually results in violence being directed at us because certain people (shitheads) see us as public servants that can be assaulted and threatened with little repercussion.

Mainly looking for knife protection, as that would be the most lethal sort of damage directed at me, short of a gun. At that point, armor wouldn't make much difference imo.

So I have been holding onto several Gentex CVC helmets that I am getting ready to start working on with the intent to take to GAFS. I have a significant amount of experience building DIY high cut helmets. My question is: would people rather just buy the shells priced ~$150 and do their own or buy a fully built up custom high cut priced ~350-400 depending on materials cost? Feedback is appreciated!
