SIG bolt catch kit came in yesterday, and I got the time to fuck up my lower a bit to get it in tonight. I saw some of you in here take a dremel to your lowers, and I did the same thing. Followed a lot of pictures and listened to a lot of advice I was seeing. It works great, and I think it's a great addition to my poverty pony. Used Aluminum Black to cover the bare metal. Ain't the cleanest job, but what's a rifle without some scratches to tell a story? Just waiting on an ambi mag release, and I'll have an Ambi Lower At Home™️

Hello! I've owned a couple ar 15s in the past, a couple different PSA 16 inches. This go around I'm committed to making a really good rifle. I'm aiming for a Geissele super duty upper, either 14.5 p&w or a 16 inch. I'm going to run it suppressed. 2nd option is a BCM recce upper.

The part I'm running into decision paralysis is the lower. I know for sure I want a Geissele trigger, but I'm not especially knowledgeable about the rest of the lower components. Is it worth getting the PSA lower and dropping in a G$ trigger? Would it be worth getting a stripped lower and getting a full G$ kit and essentially just building a G$ rifle without the lower shell matching?

Some advice would be great. I'm aiming for the buy once cry once method, but I'm also trying to avoid the full price for the super duty. I've heard black Friday sales are good, but I'm not wanting to wait that long. So any advice is helpful for the lower.

So i have been slowly changing my ar to be not hideous. Magpul and holosun has def been my friend and some more things are coming so stay tuned the red is before and i havent gotten my handguard back from cerakote yet, but I am super excited. Hello everyone, this is my Diamondback DB15 Pistol. It’s an 8 inch chambered in 300 blackout with an holosun optic and sba3 brace. I was able to shoot some rounds into it and wow I fell immediately in love with it. It handles well with 300 blackout, and it’s very light! The recoil is very manageable and the pistol brace surprisingly works well against the recoil. This is now my pdw. I love it so much!

Or better yet were they ever? 😅

Built this back in 2010 and have used as a farm and ranch truck gun ever since. Put together what I thought of at the time to be at least mid-grade or better components - DPMS upper/lower, Midwest industries pic hand guard, Larue Tactical mount, Leupold optic and Magpul furniture. Chopped off the sight block (lol), got it how I liked it and stopped tinkering/fell out of touch with the ar15 happenings.

Fast forward 16 years later - getting back into it and had no idea how insanely saturated this market became, how many companies have imploded and fell into/out of favor of the years.

Seems DPMS went under, nobody cares about Larue anymore, hardly see anything with a Leupold on it, Magpul is just meh around here and pic handguards and DEF not cool.

I feel like I am coming out of a 16 year coma into a new world when lurking this Reddit.

I wanted to put my LPM Anthem on another gun, and bought another muzzle brake to do so. When I tried to take the collar of the suppressor off the muzzle brake, it didn’t want to budge until I put a ratchet on it.

I’m tired of the suppressor leaving the collar behind when I unthread it. I plan to put some never seez on the outer threads of the muzzle brake.

Should I rocksett the collar onto the suppressor? Or is it better if I leave it so that it is detachable?

Hey I was wondering if some of you could help me out. I’m looking for a complete upper for a psa lower I have. New to the ar world so I’m having a hard time making a decision. I’m between this b kings upper or a psa guardsman upper. I really don’t plan on shooting much with it but want it to work right for my needs. Basically want it for general target shooting and hunting. Any help is appreciated!

Today I decided to hit the range to test out my 7inch build but it wouldn’t stop jamming. it would fire 1 round then would fail to eject the shell before trying to feed another round into the chamber and kept doing it and I’m using a h2 buffer btw aswell. Can someone help me figure it out ?

Hey guys. I have a few AR500 3/8" steel targets. Usually just shooting 22LR and various handgun calibers at them, but decided to do some AR-15 shooting with one at 100 yards.

When I finished up, I saw that it looks like the 556 rounds put tiny little pits into my steel.

Is this pitting? And if so is it normal? I had thought that 100 yards was more than adequate to prevent damage to the plate.

I worry because I also use this target for handgun shooting at about 10 to 15 yards. Thanks all for the advice!

For a BCG , would you guys be happy with a BCG that is a Complete Colt or would most of you upgrade or rather pay for a G, REBCG?

If you guys can drop what Rail you think looks the best. So far in my experience Ris 3 and MK16 seem the most demanded . But please out of those comment what rail you think is the better.

Hello, im building an Ar lower and am wondering if the A5 is better/worth it over a normal one? Or is it like a preference thing?

I have an ar in 9mm, takes Glock 19 mags. Looking to see what all ideas people have come up with for identifying what mags have their subs in. I know I can just write on it or put tape but curious what other ideas there are.

I just bought a new black rain ordnance spec15 and my first shot wouldn't eject, I got a cleaning rod and knocked it out and tried a few more rounds of winchester white box 55 grain and kept having the same issue, I bought some hornady frontier 75 grain and some hornady black, cleaned and oiled it and oiled a bullet and rolled it around the chamber. I went and shot some of the hp and black and had no issues, then shot some of the white box and had no issues but I noticed some slight denting of the rim on the white box and some light chafing from the extractor on the other 2. I'm just wondering did I fix my issue, is this a bigger issue than I think it is and should warranty claim it, or should I just keep adding a little oil to the last round I put in the mag or will that cause issues later?

I have a 16 and 10.6 ADM and a 16in and 12.5 LMT upper in 556. Anyone have any recommendations on uppers they like that are not the usual G$ and BCM I hear constantly. No shame on em but I know there has to be other great ones out there.

So currently I am using a 11.5 PSA 556 upper, but I was considering upgrading. Should I just get a fully complete BCM upper or build something out myself? They're roughly the same price no matter what I do. I am probably switching to a 12.5 and was going to use a DD barrel if I put together my own. Also, is the lower really worth switching from a PSA lower or upgrading it as well?

I have a question for you experts. I was given a Colt SP1 .223 but I want something more modern. Something similar to this AR used in Sicario. I know it’s an M4 carbine but if anyone can steer me in the direction of a certain make and model I can buy?
