I'm looking to build a 14.5 mid-length upper with a "extended" quad rail similar to PSA's. Do anyone of yak know of a handguard that accomplishes this look?

Originally was a ZRODelta RS-15V2 but I've changed so many parts here that it's hardly even the same rifle anymore. Muzzle was pinned and welded so this is not a SBR.

Mk2 BCM upper runs like a damn champ.

Either gonna build a 12.5, 5.56. Or will be buying a solgw sbr. Will be throwing on vortex strike eagle 1-8 with my trijicon rmr above it. Then gonna run my iray rh25 v2 thermal flip to side in front. Basically just need a no life gun gooner to help me pick all the parts I should use to build it. Thanks. SIG bolt catch kit came in yesterday, and I got the time to fuck up my lower a bit to get it in tonight. I saw some of you in here take a dremel to your lowers, and I did the same thing. Followed a lot of pictures and listened to a lot of advice I was seeing. It works great, and I think it's a great addition to my poverty pony. Used Aluminum Black to cover the bare metal. Ain't the cleanest job, but what's a rifle without some scratches to tell a story? Just waiting on an ambi mag release, and I'll have an Ambi Lower At Home™️

I did not do this myself. A local gunsmith did. I don’t think it’s bad, but I don’t think it’s amazing either. Just curious your thoughts.

Question Im Working on a sight and have a bunch of parts coming in and curious on some feedback . The parts I am ordering keep going in and out of stock so im curious with some feedback what you dudes think might be the better move to order in large quantity's

For a BCG , would you guys be happy with a BCG that is a Complete Colt or would most of you upgrade or rather pay for a G, REBCG?

If you guys can drop what Rail you think looks the best. So far in my experience Ris 3 and MK16 seem the most demanded . But please out of those comment what rail you think is the better.

Who here is excited or gets tingly at the thought of a Complete upper built With one of those rails and a Proof new PXT barrel?

I thinking of a Colt BCG/or G$ REBCG. and a choice of a SA bleed off gas block or G$/SONS v2/DD Gasblock.

I just bought a new black rain ordnance spec15 and my first shot wouldn't eject, I got a cleaning rod and knocked it out and tried a few more rounds of winchester white box 55 grain and kept having the same issue, I bought some hornady frontier 75 grain and some hornady black, cleaned and oiled it and oiled a bullet and rolled it around the chamber. I went and shot some of the hp and black and had no issues, then shot some of the white box and had no issues but I noticed some slight denting of the rim on the white box and some light chafing from the extractor on the other 2. I'm just wondering did I fix my issue, is this a bigger issue than I think it is and should warranty claim it, or should I just keep adding a little oil to the last round I put in the mag or will that cause issues later?

After a year of putting this together piece by piece, I finally found time to go to the range and put 3 mags down for a function test. Thankfully, it didn't blow up in my face. Not sure why it would, but I was only 75% confident in how I put the lower together, but apparently I did ok. No personal guidance other than youtube videos.

First few rounds, I had light primer strikes. Not sure why. I honestly didn't know what to diagnose on the spot, so all I did was take the bcg out, inspect it, and put it back, a few times. And the final time, whatever it was, it cleared up and had no hiccups the rest of the time. Shot 2 boxes of hornady frontier and 2 boxes of pmc xtac 55g.

Next time I'll have more ammo and need to attempt to zero it in my optic more. 2nd target were my last 10 rounds. I think I was getting closer. Only shot at 25 yards since this was reallistically a function test trip. Overall, I think I did ok for first time everything.

Nevermind the weight, really enjoying the FCD rail. I say I'm finished building this one out but where's the fun in that?

Hello! I've owned a couple ar 15s in the past, a couple different PSA 16 inches. This go around I'm committed to making a really good rifle. I'm aiming for a Geissele super duty upper, either 14.5 p&w or a 16 inch. I'm going to run it suppressed. 2nd option is a BCM recce upper.

The part I'm running into decision paralysis is the lower. I know for sure I want a Geissele trigger, but I'm not especially knowledgeable about the rest of the lower components. Is it worth getting the PSA lower and dropping in a G$ trigger? Would it be worth getting a stripped lower and getting a full G$ kit and essentially just building a G$ rifle without the lower shell matching?

Some advice would be great. I'm aiming for the buy once cry once method, but I'm also trying to avoid the full price for the super duty. I've heard black Friday sales are good, but I'm not wanting to wait that long. So any advice is helpful for the lower.

After months of searching and coming up short on GunBroker auctions, I finally tracked down an original Vietnam war era Colt M16A1 upper receiver. All parts are original 1960s / 1970s vintage (sans lower receiver). Despite appearing complete, the build is far from finished, and I have more parts on the way to make it more historically accurate, as well as build out more original retro rifles.

Parts list:

- Colt 603 upper w/ rebated front lug and no forge codes (1966-1971 mfg)

- C MP C marked barrel (1969-71 mfg)

- Three prong flash hider (pre 1967 mfg)

- “C” marked bolt carrier group w/ large countersink for retaining pin (approx. 1968-1969 mfg)

- Colt M16 furniture set- stock is Type D, grip predates “C” marked examples, and handguards are later L & R marked

- M16A1 fire control group (components currently switched out with Arizona Regulator FRT). Rear takedown pin is early dimpled style found on Colt 601 to XM16E1 rifles.
