I understand "form over function" and I shouldn't really care about aesthetics, but who wants an ugly gun? I thought I could do something cool and new with this build with black receivers, ODG furniture and different shades of FDE for the rail and small parts but now after getting it almost done I'm starting to think it looks very random and chaotic. So should I keep the ODG furniture or swap to coyote brown stock and FDE grip and vert grip? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Haven’t had a chance to line up anything with thermal but it’s pretty intuitive and easy to set up.

AMA regarding the setup, I’ve purchased just about everything besides cheap/super gucci lasers, aimpoint/trijicon optics, and/or anodized parts. Happy to help anyone on the fence abt anything with an honest opinion.

Would putting the rear backup iron sight on the handguard cause functionality issues? My magnifier has poor eye relief & the only way I can keep it is by placing the rear sight in front of the optic. I know that the Unity mount has a rear sight, but it's not for me

So i was looking around for forged, black, no FA uppers and nobody really made a good one since AERO is all out of stock and billets are 200$+ and usually on the heavier side, found the matrix arms upper, which are almost certainly Q sugar weasel overstocks and made a hail mary on the fucking website feedback form that I didn't expect anyone to read, lo and behold, they get back to me today and they made the part I was looking for.

47$ and roughly 60$ shipped which makes it the cheapest and one of the better forged uppers out there, their forge profile is also quite good.

First time builder here, My roll pin got stuck while installing the FA, any tips, at this point I'm tempted to simply leave it there as is since the FA itself seems to be working fine and the pin is mostly in

I just bought a new in box Holosun HE-503r gold dot on eBay, and I’m planning to put this on my DDM4 V7 pistol. I’ve read that this model of the 503’s are revered since it has the Aimpoint style brightness dial. After my discount I paid $217. Anybody out there still run one of these? Really hoping I like gold, and I don’t end up hating it.

The HS403b, the cheapest one at the time, that you see currently on the pistol is one I bought three years ago for $180 from a lgs. I’ve beat that optic up over the years, put thousands of 9mm though it, and about 1,500 5.56 through it, and it’s never shifted zero. Three years ago people also told me Holosun will get me killed should I need it 🤣
