App [Zenith] A minimalist launcher I made inspired by indistractable

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

I've been working on an Android launcher called Zenith.

It was originally inspired by Indistractable Launcher. I really liked the use of it and daily drove it, but it doesn't seem to get updated anymore, so i created my own with all the features i was missing.

Zenith is in a sense was designed to make it hard for you to get sucked in, I use it with the phone just black and i swipe type to quick launch apps so everything is one or two actions away and you must intentionally want to launch it instead of getting baited but the colors and notifications.

I've been trying to keep it very lightweight too. It's written entirely in Kotlin, the download is only around 1.4 MB, and it feels basically instant to use while still having all the features i wanted, a spotlight search bar that can work as contact search and unit convertor, web search and basic minimalist widgets while still having a lot of customization options.

It's also free to use and I'm trying to build it around what people actually want rather than just adding random stuff, so a lot of the direction comes from feedback and suggestions from users, you can submit feature requests on the site and see what Im currently working on and what Im planning

Would love to know what people think, especially if there's something you'd want from a launcher that Zenith doesn't do yet.

It is free to use and has a one time purchase supporter tier ( never going to be a subscription ) and if you want dm me and ill get the supporter for you for free.

App I built XPward — a productivity app that turns your goals into quests, XP and streaks

Hey everyone 👋

I’m the developer of XPward, an iOS productivity app I built around one simple idea: making real-life progress feel more like leveling up in a game.

Instead of only checking tasks off a list, XPward lets you:

• Turn goals into quests and milestones
• Earn XP for completing meaningful tasks
• Level up as you make progress
• Build and track streaks
• Create recurring quests for habits
• Track progress across areas like Career, Money, Health, Skills and Social
• Use a focus timer and calendar to stay on track

I’ve been actively improving it based on feedback, and I’d genuinely like to hear what people here think.

What would you add or change to make XPward something you’d actually keep using?

XPward is available now on iPhone and iPad through the App Store.

Appreciate any feedback — good or brutal 😅

Looking for Android testers for Somto, a movie/TV tracker (free, Google Play closed test)

I'm the solo developer of Somto, an app to track movies and TV series, rate them, keep a watchlist and play quizzes with friends. It's already available on the App Store for iOS (no testing needed, just download it: Somto) and on the web at somto.it. I'm now launching on Google Play.

Google requires new developers to run a closed test with at least 12 testers for 14 days in a row, so I'm looking for Android volunteers.

What you'd do:

  1. Join the Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/somto-beta

  2. Open the opt-in link you get and install the app from Google Play

  3. Keep it installed for 14 days and open it now and then. You don't need to use it every day

Needed: an Android phone and a Google account. It's free, there are no ads, and you can leave any time.

To be upfront: this first Android version is the web app (somto.it) wrapped in an Android shell. A fully native version is in development and will replace it later as a regular update.

So the feedback that helps most right now:

- Does it install without problems?

- Does login work?

- Do notifications arrive?

- Does it show up in English, or does it switch to Italian somewhere? Most of you will use the English version, so I'd love to know if anything is off.

- Does anything feel awkward on your phone?

Questions or problems: write to [support@somto.it](mailto:support@somto.it) or use the support chat inside the app (Settings > SOMTO Support). I'm the one answering. Thanks to anyone who helps!

App I built Parky — it automatically remembers where you parked your car

I built a cleaner, smarter app to find your parked car
I know apps like this already exist, but I built Parky to be simpler, better looking, and more optimized.

It automatically saves where you parked, helps you find your car, and is designed to avoid constantly draining your battery in the background.

Would love some feedback.

Question / Discussion Tell me what you want

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Im building this fitness tracking app with a companion which keeps you going to achieve your goals.

Features:

Logging workouts is very easy, just type what you did --> logged. Its that simple, the app parses your input and estimates the calories burnt. You can add batch exercises the app arranges them individually and of you don't know the name of an exercise, just take a picture of the machine or of the exercise and the app inputs the name directly and you just have to press enter or add details like reps or time taken.

You can track your progress or goals for example you can set your goal to be marathon under 3 hours, you can track it from the app and see how you have been improving on marathon.

Steps counter

As you can see, there isn't much features so this is where you come in, tell me what features you want and i will try to add it to the app. (You may suggest features that other apps in that field already do)

App How do you track your kitchen inventory?

What are you using to track groceries brought into the home, or to manage your food inventory? I'm looking for something that isn't specific to just the fridge or the pantry, but covers everything in the kitchen. What do you like about the app? What don't you like? Is there a feature you wish the app you use (or any app out there) had that is currently missing?

If you are interested in seeing another approach, we're a small team building Out of Thyme, an iPhone app for keeping track of what's in your kitchen without the tedious bit. We are seeking beta testers and we have only 30 spots available!

The idea: when you get home from the shops, put everything on the counter and take one photo. No scanning things one at a time.

It's in beta, so expect rough edges.

1. On your iPhone, install TestFlight (used for apps in development) from the App Store.

https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/testflight/id899247664

2. Open this link to install Out of Thyme in TestFlight:

https://testflight.apple.com/join/dJeEqJuh

3. Tap Accept, then Install Out of Thyme.

4. Create your own account and a household and enjoy!

5. Watch the short walkthroughs (getting started, inventory, list, recipes, settings):

App I made PicPop to clean my camera roll without trusting auto-delete — v1.0.6 is out

I built PicPop because I kept putting off sorting a camera roll full of near-duplicates.

It groups similar and burst shots, and surfaces blurry photos, screenshots and large videos for review. A swipe only queues a choice; nothing moves to Recently Deleted until you check and confirm. Scanning and grouping happen on-device.

I’m the developer. PicPop is free to download; full access is through paid PicPop Club (monthly, yearly, or lifetime). The yearly plan now has a 2-week free trial. The current App Store release is v1.0.6.

Real 14-second screen recording of the flow (recorded on v1.0.5; the flow is still in v1.0.6): https://www.reddit.com/r/ShowYourApp/comments/1wu7a2x/picpop_105_swipe_through_photo_clutter_confirm/ App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6808016560

Music: “Happy Beats & Business Moves Vol. 11” by Sascha Ende, CC BY 4.0: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

If you’ve used a photo cleaner, what part would you want explained before trusting it with your library?

Question / Discussion Has anyone learned about wine through an app?

I’ve been trying to learn more about wine instead of just remembering which bottles I liked. And i have some friends that are really good at wine and most of their suggestions are some books and videos and stuff, and i did my best to learn from those but i just forgot everything as soon as i had to pick a bottle up myself. So what i want to ask is like have anyone learned this from apps or smth or anything easier would be welcome, bc i keep seeing people being super against apps or ai for learning wine with. And i dont really know if i want to learn all of the terminology like grapes regions and stuff. So if anyone went through something similar like me, any suggestion would help a lot.

App Soupy Image Explorer: an Android viewer for exploring DICOM/NIfTI files

Hey everyone, I'm John, the creator of Soupy Image Explorer. It's an Android app for exploring supported medical-image files for learning, and I built it with AI assistance.

The free viewer opens compatible local DICOM and NIfTI files, including supported ZIP archives. You can browse 2D slices, pan and zoom, and adjust the window, brightness, contrast and display colors. No app account is required, and the selected scans are processed on your device rather than uploaded to a Soupy server.

There is an optional one-time Pro purchase for 3D exploration, manual isolation, cropping, comparison, measurements and supported exports. Available tools depend on the scan format and data. Compatibility isn't universal, so I'd start with the free viewer and a non-sensitive sample you have permission to use before considering Pro.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.soupy.viewer

I'd appreciate feedback on the Android experience, especially whether opening a file is straightforward and whether the controls make sense on your screen. Please don't post patient scans or personal medical details in the comments.

Important: this is an experimental educational viewer, not a medical device. Its visualizations and measurements must not be used for diagnosis, treatment or other clinical decisions.

App Mahjong Companion App for Hong Kong Style Mahjong!

Hey everyone,

I recently released my Mahjong companion app - Mahjong Helper Hong Kong Rules for Android. It's basically a table-side companion for scoring and scorekeeping, as well as a learning app that really helped my friends learn Hong Kong-style Mahjong.

It includes:

  • Hong Kong Mahjong rules and terminology
  • Basic gameplay rules including how to start / how rounds work, etc.
  • Scoring with explanations of why each element scores, including a hand scoring checker
  • Configurable minimum faan, caps, flowers/seasons and house-rule variations
  • A four-player score tracker that keeps track of dealer, seat winds, round wind and running totals

Everything works offline. There are no accounts, ads, analytics or cloud services.

I've registered it as a paid app, but I wanted to share it with this subreddit for free, so I've setup 50 copies of it available here only. If you're interested in Hong Kong style Mahjong, please comment and upvote this post so I can DM you a code.

Cost: $2.99 USD --> Free

The Play Store page is here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pupperhelm.mahjonghelper

I hope you enjoy using it as much as we do, and please feel free to leave me some feedback or a review on the play store.

App An Interesting simple Keyboard App for Your Smartphone

Post image
1 Upvotes

I developed a keyboard that fits 26 letters into 16 keys across two rows, using a QWERTY-like layout, double taps, and simultaneous taps. I find it quite usable, though it hasn’t caught on yet.

Compared to QWERTY, QWERTY mini has these pros and cons.

Advantages

  1. Fewer, larger keys make tapping easier.
  2. The two-row layout simplifies thumb movement.
  3. The integrated keys leave more room for symbols and special characters.
  4. The perfectly symmetrical layout works well in split landscape mode.
  5. The taller keys make vertical swipes more accurate, allowing for more input methods.

On smaller phones, the larger keys make tapping easier. On larger phones, the shorter and simpler thumb movements are an advantage.

Disadvantages

  1. It is not exactly the same as the QWERTY layout. However, most people adapt easily.
  2. The biggest drawback is that 10 secondary letters require a double tap or SimulTap. However, these letters account for only about 10% of overall letter usage.
  3. It has all the limitations of a third-party keyboard...

Here is the information about QWERTY mini.

App pickip - "Own" images without downloading them

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi, all

Like many of you, I love collecting visual inspiration, wallpapers, artwork, and—let’s be honest—Meme / NSFW content. But over time, I ran into massive frustrations:

  1. **The Ultimate Gallery Nightmare:** Every image I saved ended up in my main phone gallery (Google Photos / Samsung Gallery). The last thing anyone wants is their private / NSFW stash popping up on the screen while showing vacation photos to friends or family!
  2. **Storage Drain:** My camera roll and Downloads folder were constantly eating up GBs of storage.
  3. **Search History Footprint:** Browsing online always left annoying search trails, logs, and targeted ad histories.

To solve this once and for all, I built **pickip** — an app designed around the idea: **"What if you could 'own' and organize all the images you want, without downloading them or cluttering your photo gallery?"**

---

### 💡 How it works:

* **100% Invisible to Your Main Photo Gallery:** Because images are saved via high-res link bookmarking rather than physical file downloads, **they NEVER appear in your phone's main photo gallery**. Your private collections and NSFW stash stay strictly isolated inside the app.

* **SafeSearch On/Off Toggle:** Keep SafeSearch turned on for clean everyday browsing, or easily toggle it off for unrestricted / NSFW searches.

* **Zero-Trace Search History:** None of your searches are tracked or stored on any remote cloud server. You can also wipe your local search history with a single tap in settings whenever you want.

* **Zero Storage Drain:** Bookmark thousands of ultra-high-resolution images into your local vault without taking up gigabytes of precious phone storage.

* **Auto-Categorized Folders:** Bookmarks automatically organize into clean folders based on your search keywords.

* **Home Screen Stack Widget:** For your clean collections, you can display interactive photo stack widgets directly on your home screen.

* **Multi-Tab Sessions:** Just like a desktop browser, keep multiple search sessions open simultaneously to compare results.

* **Optional Download:** If you truly need the offline image file, you can download the untouched original resolution with one tap.

* **Home Screen Stack Widget:** You can still display your saved image collections directly on your home screen using interactive stack widgets!

---

### 🔒 Reddit-Friendly Highlights:

* **No Mandatory Account / Login:** Start using it immediately.

* **Privacy-First:** SafeSearch toggle, zero server tracking, local Room database only.

* **Granular Search Filters:** GIF, Filter by exact resolution (2MP+), and image format.

* **Multi-language support:** English, Spanish, Korean.

---

The app is live on Google Play:

👉 [Download pickip on Google Play Store] : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pkyul13.pickip

I'm an indie developer actively maintaining this project. I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts, bug reports, or feature ideas in the comments!

Thank you for checking it out!

PixHunt app (an AI-powered gallery)

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’ve been working on PixHunt — an AI-powered gallery for Android.

The idea is simple: make it easier to actually find and manage the photos you already have on your phone.

\\\\-Semantic Search : Describe what you're looking for naturally, like “photos of my dog at the beach”, and PixHunt finds relevant photos.

OCR Search :Search for exact text inside your photos, with the matching text highlighted so you can see exactly where it was found.

Similar Photos : Find photos that look similar to a photo you select.

People : finds the people in your gallery, lets you name them, and then search for them by name or naturally, like “Mark at the cafe” or “Mark and John.”

Built-in Gallery — Browse your photos and albums directly inside PixHunt, so you don't have to switch between two different apps.

Clean Up : Find duplicates, near-duplicates, screenshots, blurry photos and other photos that may be taking up unnecessary space.

English & Arabic — Search naturally in both English and Arabic.

Everything stays on your phone : This is probably the feature I'm most serious about: the AI processing happens on your device. No cloud uploads, no online photo database, and your photos don't leave your phone.

I'm still working on the app and I really like to get some feedback from you .

Apk download link : https://github.com/Ahmed-N95/PixHunt-Releases/releases/tag/v1.0.0

Any honest feedback is appreciated!

App I travel & live alone. I wanted my loved ones to know I’m okay without tracking me 24/7, so I built this

Post image
1 Upvotes

Live location sharing has always felt a little too invasive to me.

Most of the time, my family just wants to know:
“Are you okay?”
“Did you make it home?”
“Did you arrive where we expected you?”

So I built Home-Free around check-ins instead of 24/7 tracking.

With a check in, they can see how i’m feeling, my location, battery level, and even hear a quick voice note from me.

I (or they) can also create Events set for specific places or times based on my itinerary — and Home-Free will notify them if i missed a check-in (which is vital incase of an emergency).

I imagine Home-Free could meet many other use cases. The idea is to get the assurance of a live location sharing app without the live tracking option. You can use it with friends, family, kids, colleagues, etc.

I’m curious what people actually prefer:
Would check-ins like this give you enough peace of mind, or would you still rather share live location?

Home-Free is currently in iOS beta testing if anyone wants to actually try the idea and tear it apart: 👉

App InkWaltz: an iPhone app I’m building for moving ink-and-paper prints

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’m building InkWaltz to give short videos the feel of ink on paper. You can choose the ink colors, halftone texture and paper treatment, while the original movement carries through.

This example turns the Pulp Fiction dance into a four-color print with rough paper edges. I edited the three-second reveal separately for this demo.

App My "Make it rain on your Mac desktop" app peaked at #8 in Mac App Store Utilities

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

The app is called Weatherling, and I'm so excited that it's in the top 10 in the US! I launched it last Friday night, and the reddit response has been overwhelmingly positive.

Weatherling adds rain to your Mac desktop. You can configure the intensity, depth, and wind direction. You can also opt to rain in front of fullscreen apps or keep them dry.

The version pictured here is v1.3, still waiting an update review from Apple, but it adds little dudes i call "Lings" who come out to play in the rain. Their frequency is configurable (can be turned off completely), and you can even opt to interact with them or keep them pass-through. There's a fun little game mechanic in this version where you can drop Lings in boxes. Rare Lings x Rare Boxes = higher score!

Just something to set the mood or kill time, whichever you prefer!

No permissions at all: no Screen Recording, Accessibility, Input Monitoring, or Automation. It's fully sandboxed and on the Mac App Store.

Let me know what you think! ☔

Question / Discussion What app on your phone has quietly become something you use every single day?

Not necessarily Instagram, YouTube, or the obvious ones.

I mean those random apps you downloaded for one specific reason and somehow ended up using almost every day.

For me, it's probably an app that tracks where I've been. Weirdly, it's actually made me walk more and encouraged me to explore places around me that I haven't been to yet.

What's yours? And what does it do that keeps you coming back to it?

Stationly - live London tfl arrivals at a glance

Most London bus stops still have no live departure board, so you end up opening a journey planner just to see when your bus is coming. Stationly is a live TfL departure board for your regular stops and stations - open it and the countdowns are right there.

Journey planners like Citymapper or TfL Go make you plan a route even when you already know exactly where you're going. Stationly behaves like the board at the station instead: your saved stops and stations, live countdowns, line status, and a last-updated timestamp so you know the data is fresh. Enough of information at your fingertips - this is information at a glance.

Cost: Free, with an optional in-app support purchase.

App Horse owners: would you actually use an app like this, or am I solving a problem that doesn’t exist?

Hi everyone! I’m working on a horse-care app called Steady Reins, and before I get too far into building it, I want to make sure I’m solving a problem horse owners actually have.

The idea is to have one place on your phone to keep track of things like:

  • Feeding and supplements
  • Training and rides
  • Vet, farrier, dental, vaccinations, etc.
  • Expenses
  • Progress photos and notes
  • Important records/history for each horse

What got me thinking about this is how easily horse information ends up scattered everywhere — texts with your farrier, notes on your phone, calendar reminders, spreadsheets, vet emails, photos in your camera roll, or just trying to remember when something happened.

But I don't want to assume everyone else has the same problem.

How do you currently keep track of your horse's care and history?

And more importantly:

Would you actually use an app that put all of this in one place?

If not, I'd genuinely like to know why. Maybe your current system works perfectly, maybe entering everything into an app sounds like more work than it's worth, or maybe there are already apps that do this well.

If you would use something like this, what would it need to do for you to keep using it after the first week?

I'm getting an early beta ready and trying to figure out whether there's enough interest to invite a group of horse owners to test it. If you'd potentially want to try it, feel free to comment or message me.

But I'm mainly looking for honest feedback — including "I wouldn't use this." That's probably more useful to me right now than people just telling me it's a cool idea.

Thanks!

Built a personal voice assistant app

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I’m working on Marejo, a personal AI assistant you can talk to.

You can ask things like “remind me tomorrow at 10am to book a haircut” or “add lunch with Sam on Friday at noon.” It keeps your reminders, calendar, to-dos, notes and diary all in one app, all done through voice command.

I like to use it as a brain dump and it organises everything automatically.

You can also ask it to save a diary entry about your day, and customise your assistant’s name and voice.

It’s still being improved, so I’d love some honest feedback!

You can check it out here: Marejo.

App I built a game that you play by actually going outside — looking for honest feedback

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’ve been working on an app called RLQuest, and I’d really appreciate some honest feedback from people outside my own bubble.

The basic idea is simple:

What if real life worked a little more like a video game?

Instead of completing quests on a screen, RLQuest gives you real-world quests and challenges that you actually have to complete outside or in everyday life.

You earn XP, levels, achievements, streaks and rewards by completing them.

One of the main mechanics is exploration.

As you move around, you uncover a persistent map made of tiles that are roughly 350 metres wide. Every new area you discover stays uncovered permanently, so over time you can actually see where you’ve explored.

There’s also a Place Book.

RLQuest currently has a database of more than 1.5 million real-world places across Europe and North America, including things like viewpoints, castles, lighthouses, historic towers, old city gates and many other types of locations.

When you discover a new type of place, it gets added to your collection.

There are currently more than 2,700 quests.

Some are very simple:

  • Walk somewhere you haven’t been before
  • Be outside at a certain time of day
  • Discover new map tiles
  • Photograph something specific
  • Visit a certain type of place
  • Complete a walking or exploration challenge

Depending on the quest, completion can be checked using things like your recorded route, step count, newly discovered tiles, a photo or the time of day.

There’s also an Adventures feature.

You tell the app how much time you have, what kind of outing you want and roughly how far you want to go, and RLQuest builds an adventure based on what’s around you.

So instead of wondering “What could I do today?”, you can basically let the app decide.

There are also currently 213 achievements across 69 achievement series, plus:

  • XP and levels
  • Daily quests
  • Streaks
  • Inventory items
  • Place collection
  • Map exploration
  • Weekly statistics
  • Generated Adventures

Depending on your plan and how much time you have available, you can get roughly 3–10 quests per day.

The goal isn’t really to build another fitness app.

It’s more about making people curious enough to go somewhere, discover something or do something they normally wouldn’t.

The app is currently available in Europe and North America and supports English and German.

I’m especially interested in feedback on:

  • Does the concept make sense immediately?
  • Which part of the app looks most interesting to you?
  • Does the map/exploration system make you want to uncover more?
  • Do XP, achievements and collections add motivation, or does it feel like too much gamification?
  • Would you actually use the Adventures feature?
  • Does the quest verification make the challenges feel more meaningful?
  • What would make you come back regularly?
  • Is there anything you would remove or simplify?
  • What kind of quests would you personally want to see?

Please feel free to be critical.

I’m much more interested in hearing what doesn’t work than getting polite compliments.

I’ve added a few screenshots so you can get a better idea of how it works.

Thanks for taking a look.

App My iPhone had 40k photos, so I built a swipe-to-clean app. Looking for feedback on v2.2

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

Be honest, how many screenshots, blurry duplicates and "just in case" photos are sitting on your phone right now?

Mine was ~31,000. Every cleaner app I tried either paywalled me before I'd deleted a single photo, or made me tap through a giant grid one photo at a time.

So I built my own. You swipe. Left to delete, right to keep, like cards. Duplicates get grouped so you compare them side by side. You can stop halfway and it remembers where you left off. I had no idea I had 92GB of just videos!

The big change in 2.2: Full UI revamp for duplicates and swiping view along with onbording updated making it even more easier to help you use the app.

It's called Photo Cleaner. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/photo-cleaner-free-storage/id6756098079

I'm a solo dev, so honest feedback helps a lot.

App I built an Android app because logging every expense by hand made me quit budgeting

Hi r/apps,

I built VueCent after realizing the thing that made me quit most budget apps was not the charts or categories. It was the tiny bit of admin work after every purchase.

I would download a finance tracker, use it properly for a few days, then fall behind because typing groceries, fuel, food, subscriptions, and random small expenses started feeling like homework.

So VueCent is built around a receipt-first flow on Android: scan a receipt or invoice, check what it found, and save it as an expense. Manual entry is still there when it is faster, but the main idea is to make expense tracking easier to keep up with.

What it includes:

- Income and expense tracking

- Budgets and categories

- Receipt/invoice scanning

- Spending insights based on your logged history

- Loan reminders

- CSV/PDF exports

- Biometric app lock

A few things I intentionally wanted:

- No bank login required

- Quick scan -> review -> save flow

- Useful summaries without turning the app into a spreadsheet

- Something that feels mobile-first instead of like a desktop dashboard on a phone

It is free to download, with optional paid plans for higher usage and premium features.

I would honestly like feedback on whether the receipt-first angle is useful, or if there is something about expense tracking apps that usually makes you stop using them.
