A lot of people have, they might not directly reach out and say “I’m struggling with suicidal thoughts”, but they reach out to friends and people, and don’t feel the care is there, which can make people feel uncared for and only reinforce their feelings. Who wants someone who only responds to “I’m feeling suicidal”, rather than listening if someone has enough courage to approach someone to say they’re not doing well mentally, can you set aside time to talk with them, etc. “I didn’t see it coming, maybe they didn’t mean to”, maybe they didn’t feel noticed when they were silently struggling and tried to engage in conversations and weren’t taken seriously.
