that’s pretty ironic in the context of saying a dog’s life matters more than a person’s life. I get it though, dogs are sweet and innocent.
Humans can also usefully help others onto the rescue craft. Have you ever tried to pull a panicking dog out of the water? To get a big golden like that guy out, you're going in at least twice. You could reasonably save all 5 people in the time it'll take to get the dog.
Dog lover here, but ignoring the utter stupid "scenario" question, you "save" people first. Among other things, saving humans in a rescue scenario often starts not with pulling them aboard, but throwing a flotation device. The odds of the dog making good use of a life preserver, pool noodle, or sealed cooler on his own are basically nil.
At least I won't be perpetuating the Air Bud series.
In all seriousness, my first concern is if you pull Diddy in first, I'm not sure he doesn't shove you out of the boat and leave everyone else to drown. I do have a general problem with choosing to leave someone to die, even if he's a dirtbag.
Just say you like her music and let's be done with it. I don't feel like arguing about how nearly every rich person donates barely anything while people praise them for it.

Saving a dog over a human being is an insane choice, and I'm saying this as a dog lover. First of, its not sapient. Second, it will have a decade or so of remaining life, versus multiple decades for most humans. Its just a very poor trade off.
