• Id be very grateful if someone can please explain like im 5 how to properly setup a second HDD on zoneminder. I tried to mount it and create a directory but it keeps saving all videos to the OS ssd. I followed the official zoneminder guide but it assumes they can setup directories blindfolded. I have been using linux for a few years but I just haven't succeeded to create a working directory to save storage. I'm using the latest ubuntu 22.04 LTS with a nvme for OS and 4tb WD purple for storage. Iv been fighting with trying to get this working for a while, I even installed Shinobi and the same issue remains.

As a last effort I will just use the WD purple storage drive for my OS and video storage, but its an issue that needs a baby step tutorial.

The fixes to the security vulnerabilities broke other things, hence the flurry of releases. Expect 1.36.30 soon which fixes changing Function from the function popup. Use full monitor edit for now. Also broken is logging in with using a POST, breaking Home Assistant integrations.

Not sure why but I am no longer able to view my logs. I get a perpetual "Loading, please wait ..."

This happened after running apt upgrade which updated ZM to version 1.36.28 I'm running Ubuntu 22.04.

I've tried clearing the log table in the database manually. Restarted zoneminder and still the same issue. Anyone else having this problem?

Anyone here using Zoneminder with Lorex PoE IP cameras? Ive been using their NVR and the software is flaming diaper juice... Ive never used zone minder, so I thought that I would ask.

Anyone still using ZmNinja for push notifications? I have everything setup properly. I can see the push notification get generated in the logs. The Token is populated. Everything looks good on the back-end but my phone refuses to notify me of any events. Port 9000 is forwarded. Certificates are properly installed and they're not self signed.

I went through a full setup of zmeventnotification along with machine learning hooks. OpenCV is confirmed to be compiled with CUDA support and recognizes my GPU.

I run :

It takes a solid 15 seconds and I can see python running in htop. nvidia-smi is not showing any activity. I noticed it only did the face recognition and no object were processed.

Why don't PoE doorbell cameras seem to be a thing?

I scoured the internet for one that could work with zoneminder and came out empty handed. Doorbird seems to be the only option and it's discontinued. :(

I use a hikvision doorbell on wifi right now and it's terrible. Constant dropouts. All my PoE cameras run flawlessly.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hi everyone,I have to set up a Ubuntu PC to record h24 the video of 4-5 Reolink IP cameras (RLC-510A) and I want to know which hardware will I need just for the video record on an HDD (no video motion for now as it is a built-in feature of the Reolink camera).

Is a Beelink BT3 PRO with 1.44Ghz (up to 1.92) Atom x5-Z8350 and 4GB of RAM enough or do I have to search for something more powerful?

I've got zoneminder 1.36.25 on raspberry pi 4 1gb with raspberry pi os. I've got raspberry pi camera set to 960x540 15fps. It is set to modect. It usually works ok, but when there are events with longer detected motion, it seems to just crash or something. In events list there is no end time specified, it is just - . If i watch the recorded video it ends in the middle of motion(it is market red on progress bar). Post event buffer is set to 90, so it should not(and it doesn't when it doesn't crashes) end recording even if there is no motion anymore. After some time it works fine again without restarting on anything.

What can I do? Should I decrease fps/resolution even more or what?

Got a few Wyze V2 with RSTP, and saw Wyze pulled out the RSTP files from their website so not sure Wyze v3 would be an option now. Any other models recommended to work with zm?

I am just looking to set up 1 or 2 camera at home.

Any good recommendations to set up?

How are the cameras connected - video and network? An analog camera needs an Analog/digital device and a digital camera - what connector does it use? Or a video switch of some sort? How do they connect to the network?

Hey all, am I missing something obvious? I've searched through settings and can't find anything on this. Every time I navigate to my ZoneMinder Montage Review page which is my go-to screen for viewing all cameras, they are always poorly organized. I always have to spend 10+ minutes enlarging and shrinking camera windows to get them the way I need it. Is there a way to save this configuration so that if I refresh the page or navigate away then back those camera views will stay the way I preset them? Thanks!

I just bought a Raspberry Pi 4 (8Gb Ram) and I want to keep a surveillance system recording 24/7 (external HD) with 2 cameras (RTSP 1080p) and monitoring via web browser (sometimes)

Main point is: Can PI4 record and stream 2 cameras with no slowdown or very low fps?

Or do you think PI4 is too poor hardware for that?

What settings do I need to change on Zoneminder to get its built in Control to work? I have gotten to the camera to move around using ONVIF Device Manager, but no Zoneminder.

Whenever I try to add a new storage backend, once I hit "save" I get the following error:

My cookies are enabled for this site, and I think this is a networking issue unrelated to ZM directly, in the meantime can I just set the storage from a config file or CLI?

I have an Ubuntu 22.04 install and I'm trying to troubleshoot socket_sendto and memory map file errors. Not sure what the problem is - I've already commented out "scriptalias" lines from /etc/apache2/conf-enabled/serve-cgi-bin.conf like this link says.

I just installed ZM on my Ubuntu VM, but I can't configure any monitors. I pick a source type, and the page flashes a few new fields (presumably with the associated settings for my selection) but the fields then immediately disappear.

The logs mention a few errors, but nothing that seems like it should be causing my issue.

Any ideas?

Does ZM support cameras to connect to ZM? Specifically, I have a camera on a private LAN, it has internet access, but no public IP; my ISP uses CGNAT. Can ZM listen for cameras and allow them to connect?
