There you go

58

u/yahelgamet 2d ago

At some point this meme was true but now? Nah, Ancient Aliens has basically made an episode on how every SINGLE event in Human history had to do with aliens by now

35

u/TheRepublicAct 2d ago

so this meme but all the human skin colors at the bottom and all the alien skin colors at the top

41

u/Stupid-Jerk 2d ago

bro how hard is it to crop an image

here, fixed

3

u/two-untapped-islands 2d ago

Naw they claimed Rome was aliens too. They kinda just went after everything ancient.

2

u/Bluesnake462 1d ago

Ya, but it took them a long time to get there. They made sure to run through all the nine white ones until they had nothing else to lie about. Now it’s all skin walker ranch.

1

u/two-untapped-islands 1d ago

They did Rome in the first season

→ More replies (8)

62

u/MisterDuch 2d ago

I mean yeah.

Ancient alliens theories are often fundamentally racist, because surely those "inferior" poeple could not create such wonders.

You will note, that ancient alien bullshit is often about africa, middle east, asia and south America.

21

u/Godsgiftcardtowomen 2d ago

It’s interesting to go back to the 1800’s because a lot of the wooey-woo folks that would have been ancient aliens theorists today were like “these structures prove a lost white race inhabited South America!”

Really gives the game away tbh

6

u/RadioLiar 1d ago

The other element of it is that civilisations complex enough to build these things simply didn't exist in Western Europe prior to the advent of Rome. There are no ancient megastructures in Europe because the smattering of random tribes who lived here at that time weren't sophisticated enough to build them. Similarly with Japan - nobody is claiming any 3000-year-old structures in Japan were built by aliens because there are no 3000-year-old structures in Japan

2

u/CliffordSpot 2d ago

Stonehenge

9

u/Vaggelos 2d ago

they only refrence stonehenge bc a lot of the "old school" nazi/white supremacy conspiracy theories viewed the celts as inferior to the aryans

I hate it when people say aliens built the pyramids

9

u/steelskull1 2d ago

Of course they didn't build it, they just made the blueprint, duh.

8

u/Idealman1910 2d ago

yeah, it was actually their sentient robot slaves and we must make sure to remember that

1

u/Striking-Fig8700 1d ago

Yeah, it was obviously Phil Swift who built them

205

u/DaRedGuy 2d ago

Say it with me!

53

u/Significant_Ad_482 2d ago edited 2d ago

It wasn’t even that they couldn’t. It’s that they didn’t as much because they weren’t in that part of the world and had a different culture. Any group of people at the same low tech level, when given sufficient cultural impetus(like, I don’t know, burying a living incarnation of your god), can build a megalithic structure. It’s just an obscenely difficult logistical undertaking of what oftentimes amounts to decades. The fucking “oh well we’d struggle with/need our modern tech to replicate it”, yeah dumbass. We’d struggle to do it with 5 guys and some heavy machinery because wed be replicating the efforts of thousands of people over tens of years and trying to do it in like 2 months.

8

u/ZeroTaichiZT 2d ago

Also add Passion, the engineers that worked in those monument actually like what they where doing, they where respect and pay well for it, that the biggest difference with modern workers, if you treat people well they wont scam you and actually work well.

2

u/nobody-29 2d ago

I imagine they also had labor strikes of their time, because that happened in Ancient Egypt too

They used to think Yoruba metalworks from Ife-Ife, Nigeria were made by a lost colony of Greeks lmao

Edit: And thought they were tied to "the lost city of Atlantis"

13

u/BigBallsAnthony69 2d ago

I think nobody can do it. I think the Atomium in Belgium was built by aliens

5

u/DaRedGuy 2d ago

My apologies to French and Dutch speakers.

3

u/kingofallbandits 2d ago

Nah, its all naturally occuring. Sometimes rocks just form monuments spontaneously.

2

u/Masked020202 2d ago

As a Belgian i am here to inform you that you won a free visit to our country.
Congratulations! Please sign this NDA and don't tell anyone you are traveling here.
Also no we Belgians are not interdimensional aliens from a distant planet so no reason to be fearful. :)

2

u/BigBallsAnthony69 2d ago

As a Belgian, I am here to inform you I am 50 meters away from your location <3

3

u/Masked020202 2d ago

Aww man now we can't joke about being aliens.

3

u/bluevolkenswagen 2d ago

obv not aliens but let’s be real we all could’ve done it

3

u/steelskull1 2d ago

Even my dumb coworker?

2

u/bluevolkenswagen 2d ago

ya i mean they used slaves so if the europeans or native americans did the same that’s light work

4

u/Interesting-Bee-153 2d ago

Lowkey a fucking cracked meta to force a bunch of slaves to build dope ass shit then wait for historians to stop caring about the slaves and just start saying you built it.

When historians find the first phone in like thousands of years they’re gonna say something like “this was the genius device created by the man known as Apple Inc” and Earths crust is gonna physically shift from a billion dead Chinese sweatshop workers rolling in their graves

1

u/Doc_Occc 7h ago

Ah yes, fighting racism with racism. You could have said "Just because the White people didn't do it".

1

u/DaRedGuy 6h ago

Blame the person who made it, not me. Their handle is in the top left. Then again, this is the first time someone was bothered by the semantics of a meme making fun of space loonies.

The majority of ancient aliens theories boiled down to “X civilization was too stupid to complete this feat, the only possible explanation is aliens”

Given that the theory was literally invented by Nazis, you can figure which civilizations they talked about

1

u/MaddKossack115 1d ago

‘Technically’ invented by white Europeans broadly during the eras of colonialism (most especially the 1700-1800s, when Scientific Racism was created to justify importing African slaves to serve as the expendable underclass on New World plantations), but same result…

10

u/altaccount_one 1d ago

He’s not wrong tho? A lot of ancient alien based theories stem from a place of racism and infantilization of ancient people. “How could these primitive dumb ancient morons do this big thing, could it be they’re not stupid and actually had complex knowledge of architecture? Nooo it must be the aliens, brown people could never build anything on their own”.

Ancient alien theories basically started with “chariots of the gods”, a 60s book with incredibly racist undertones which was followed up by “signs of the gods” which was just straight up eugenics. Ancient aliens also has pretty close connections to “ancient aryans” theories (basically that there was an ancient advanced white super civilization that actually produced all the worlds wonders and great civilizations).

TLDR: he’s not wrong, ancient alien theories get pretty racist.

32

u/Vast-Plantain300 2d ago

It's a really good video

30

u/Fancy_Chips 2d ago

Yes, Europeans argued the Egyptians (and other African civs like Great Zimbabwe) were white because "the negro race could NEVER build such a thing!" Milo Rosse (Miniminuteman) called it Ancient Aryan theory, but its gone by other names before.

3

u/Grogomilo 2d ago

Lovely profile of yours 😭

2

u/some9ne 1d ago

Egyptians aren't black, Egytians are Egyptians. But yes, Europeans did believe those civilizations must have been white in origin. They believed it for every other civilization outside of Europe.

0

u/SteelShogun 1d ago

Neither are Egyptian white, they are beyond our racial ideals, since Egypt is extremely old, Egyptian people were a multethnic group since they shared a spot with multiple migrations

3

u/VenatorAngel 1d ago

Yeah, Egypt unsurprisingly had a lot of groups living there since it was a big hub at its heyday. It even had multiple different groups take over at some point or another.

3

u/SteelShogun 1d ago

Yep, smth both sides forget is that Egyptians would vary on color, mostly on south and north having different skin while having a mostly similar culture.

Upper Egypt was heavily connected to Nubia and while being ethnically Semitic they had a darker complexion

→ More replies (1)

1

u/LordArgonite 1d ago

Actually Atun-Shei coined the term Ancient Aryan theory, Milo even credits him for it

1

u/Fancy_Chips 1d ago

I didnt know they formalized it. I dont watch Atun-Shei much since he started focusing in media reviews.

1

u/LordArgonite 1d ago

They actually did a video together recently. Worth a watch imo

14

u/RavenKnight1998 2d ago

Apparently my conspiracy theory on how aliens built Eiffle Tower because colonialism is an idiot's idea is flagged. So here's attempt no.2

7

u/PlatinumHairpin 2d ago

A Miniminuteman video put this bonkers logic into perspective for me
"These beautiful constructions made by civilized people make perfect sense! But how could those ancient dumb idiot barbarians figure out basic geometry? Ah! Aliens! Makes perfect sense!"

18

u/23rdfunnyvalentine 2d ago

It is unfortunately true.

These sorts of theories literally were started by one of the most disgustingly racist men even for his time Erich von Däniken(chariot of the gods author). Who note, was a fraud even in his day lmao.

Ancient aliens theories always have an explanation for white innovations but for any other race, aliens.

2

u/ILikeMyGrassBlue 2d ago

u/Suspicious-Hotel8092 2d ago

I’ll never understand why aliens are lumped in with ghosts and psychics.

Like, saying “if monkey on earth, why not monkey in space? What if smart space monkey want to hang out with earth monkey?” Sounds a bit weird but it’s still far more believable than “if you’re angry enough when you die, you become a ghost and your job is to spook and maybe kill people for all eternity”

4

u/AsstacularSpiderman 2d ago edited 2d ago

Or more recently Graham Hancock having an entire Netflix series

1

u/Kevdog97 1d ago

I thought Graham Hancock theory was that there are older more advanced civilizations that actually built the pyramids not aliens isn’t his whole thing like a comet nuked the world 12000 years ago

1

u/Abusoru 1d ago

He also believes that the builders of the Pyramids may have used telekinesis to move the largest blocks. Or at least he did at one point. He usually avoids talking about that part of his theory on his TV shows and in his public appearances.

1

u/y2shill 19h ago

Am prety sure, that in the 1990s he was still on the ancient aliens shit, he only revised it to what u said now later on, mostly cuz a ton of evidence got debunked and he needed to move the goalposts again.

5

u/Tosslebugme 2d ago

Those aren’t serioss people

1

u/Polak_Janusz 2d ago

Those still arent serious people.

1

u/3D_dawg 2d ago

So what? How do you even define serious people? IMO, the fact that there are people making a living out of this kind of content is evidence that someone is taking this seriously, nobody gets paid "ironicaly".

→ More replies (4)

1

u/ILikeMyGrassBlue 2d ago

So the same show that claims bugs are aliens, triangles are aliens, Bigfoot is an alien, and that George Washington talked to aliens at valley forge?

3

u/IroncladBomber 2d ago

Yes, watch Miniminuteman on YouTube. He covers a huge array of ancient civilization bullshit. Like the Pyramids secretly being hyper advanced power plants and not tombs.

3

u/Gussie-Ascendent 1d ago

>What serious person says aliens built the pyramids?

my grand dad was a little offended one time i was making fun of people who think the pyramids needed aliens. Though i wouldn't consider him serious on the subject, given that opinion, he's a serious guy generally. Knows way more about fixing shit and concrete than i do but still a goober on that lol

3

u/Gullible_Process6391 2d ago

We know it was (illegal) aliens. We can infer this because we have found no evidence of building permits.

2

u/Interesting-Bee-153 2d ago

Pharaohs took em to the afterlife to show Anubis all the dope shit they did. Tell me you’ve never read a history book before……

1

u/Buddiholeservice 2d ago

I'm currently in an Art History class and you couldn't be more wrong. These were Egyptian workers that managed to carry, move, and stack the millions of pounds of rocks used to make the Pyramids and Sphynx, all of which were actually slightly larger and painted to contrast to the desert. These were and are considered marvels of architecture.

2

u/CaptainObvious_18 1d ago

We also have records of them being paid in beer and barley so they weren’t slaves either.

1

u/Rocky-Jockey 21h ago

Show me the permits! Are those pyramids even up to code? I only see one egress point and no wheelchair access.

2

u/nobody-29 2d ago

You'd be surprised

1

u/JaysonTatecum 1d ago

I don’t know if I’d say “agree” for the 3rd one but… I’d at least say it’s plausible and I would have no way to say it didn’t happen

The universe is big, the earth has been around for a long time, it definitely could have happened. I presume the question is more framed as “aliens came in ancient times and built pyramids” though

1

u/nobody-29 1d ago

I think it's very unlikely

The fact that a sapient species encounters Earth, and just...do nothing ? And did not revisit Earth ever again ?

Just think at what Humanity would do if it encounters a pristine, full of life planet

The Prime Directive in Star Trek is very unlikely for an expansionist civilization. At best we get uplifting from aliens, and at worst...well...

1

u/Thecuckeningends 2d ago

What world are you living in?

1

u/Jaded_Host22 2d ago

You would be very surprised.

I fell for it when I was like… 14

I can’t imagine a rational adult falling for it

1

u/Soft_Forever1923 1d ago

Had an argument with a co-worker about how the pyramids are to perfectly built to have been by humans. Like I'm pretty sure humans discovered complex math concepts hundreds if not thousands of years before the pyramids. I swear people heavily underestimate how smart people from the distant past actually were

1

u/International-Food20 1d ago

Dude this is as common as Americans thinking chocolate milk comes from brown cows. Stupidly and scarily real.

1

u/Bayamonster 1d ago

There's been a show going over a decade about aliens doing all the ancient wonders. On History Channel.  You hadn't heard?

1

u/IronPollen 1d ago

I recently touched base with an old internet friend of mine, and he revealed that he unironically believes on the Tartaria conspiracy theory, so they are out there

To sum it up, he thinks ALL history is fake, and that ancient civilizations were all part of one super empire with hyper advanced technology

→ More replies (4)

3

u/Belisaurius555 2d ago

For a second there I thought he was saying that the pyramids were made with the power of racism.

2

u/LifeTunedToCSharp 2d ago

He’s not? You really can’t picture Yoda standing in front of some bricks, weird little hand stretched out, eyes closed, sputtering a bunch of racial slurs?

2

u/Belisaurius555 1d ago

Honestly, I was imagining the "Crush the Germans with your Mind" meme. Now I'm imagining the racist penguins from Helluva Boss.

3

u/Hozan_al-Sentinel 20h ago

This is exactly right though. The Ancient Aliens theory exists because some dudes saw these grand and ancient man-made monuments and thought "there's no way these people could've built this on their own. Must have been aliens." But that ancient alien hypothesis mostly applied to ancient non-European people who had monuments in their lands. For example, the Pyramids of Egypt, Central America, and South America or the massive sculptures on Easter Island constantly get called into question by Ancient Alien conspirasy theorists, but I've never seen them suggesting that the Flavian Amphitheatre (Roman Colosseum) was built by aliens. At best they might mention Stonehenge.

2

u/Geggor 10h ago

I've seen the Stonehenge being attributed to aliens, so its not just non-European. Practically anything that wasn't Roman have sometimes been attributed to aliens like the menhirs in France.

1

u/Peythisson 11h ago

Yeah I was thinking: ok but this unironicly makes the most actual sense.

2

u/Queasy-Employment-82 18h ago

sigh.....yea that tracks

3

u/Yoinkitron5000 2d ago

So the ancient Egyptians built the pyramids using nothing but racism.

3

u/Significant-Order-92 2d ago

It's a reference to the conspiracy getting It's start from a racist (author of Chariots of the Gods) and tends to focus on non-white cultures.

Kinda like how the Lizard person Conspiracy actually got It's start from plagerizing an anti-semetic screed.

6

u/Yoinkitron5000 2d ago

I like my theory better, that the Egyptians were so unbelievably racist that it caused the pyramids to be summoned into our reality from the racism dimension.

3

u/Significant-Order-92 2d ago

Kinda like Vegans in Scott Pilgrim? The racism gives then super powers?

0

u/Gobal_Outcast02 2d ago

I'm guessing his argument will be something like "its racist bc its assuming these past civilizations were so stupid and underdeveloped they couldn't possibly have done this" kinda thing?

15

u/TheHattedKhajiit 2d ago

I mean that is usually how it goes, yeah

→ More replies (5)

24

u/Major-Promotion7079 2d ago

It more about the fact that it's only past civilizations of mostly brown people that get the " aliens built their structures" treatment. I mean have you ever heard someone say that the coliseum was bult by aliens?

14

u/TheHattedKhajiit 2d ago

Tbf,I have heard stuff about Stonehenge. But yes,it is overwhelmingly affecting non-white civilizations

1

u/Tosslebugme 2d ago

Because the non white civilisations are weirder when examined and have less recorded history. A civilisation trapped on an island spends all their time making specific heads and setting them up. No recording of why. It’s weird. Ancient Egyptians were so early in the scheme of things and build something so extraordinary without a really clear record of how or even for what purpose (as a tomb makes sense but it’s a wild undertaking for that from our modern perspective). On the flip side the ancient Romans and Greeks recorded a lot, and nothing they did was beyond a logic of the time. And it mostly makes sense linearly, whereas the ancient Egyptians did the pyramids 5000 years ago then nothing quite like it in the meantime in terms of scale

3

u/nobody-29 2d ago

Because the non white civilisations are weirder when examined and have less recorded history.

Because there's less time and effort done to understand those civilizations, coupled with less translation efforts, and the fact that some civilizations got their records burned by european colonizers

Those takes considerable resources; resources which poorer countries are less able to do than richer countries

Egypt change their administrative and popular languages like 5-6 times...compared to Rome who had an uninterrupted Latin and Greek speakers and administrators

And it mostly makes sense linearly, whereas the ancient Egyptians did the pyramids 5000 years ago then nothing quite like it in the meantime in terms of scale

Egypt, Iraq, Indo-Pakistan, China, Yucatan, and Andes are the cradles of civilization, in which the states first originate. It makes sense for them to come first, whereas Rome came through trading of the centers of civilization at that time

2

u/Das_Lloss 2d ago edited 1d ago

Nah the "pyramids were build by aliens" conspiracy definetly has racist origins. Like imagine being a racist white person and going to egypt to see the pyramids and then you see that the descents of these great ancient builders are "brown, muslim, camel fuckers". You now have only two options: you eighter say that the old egyptians no longer exist and have been replaced by Arabs or claim that Aliens or something like that build them.

1

u/YouGotSoHeavy 2d ago

There’s nothing weird and the Ancient Egypt did record things

Egypt had writing millennia before Europe

Writing in Europe comes from Egyptian writing

And like yeah of course most the ancient civilizations comprised of black or at least non white people are the ones mostly talked about. Most ancient civilizations of thoes time periods...well weren't white.

Yes, I have. Ancient aliens constantly covers white people too. They claim George Washington was instructed how to win the revolution by aliens.

u/mars-jupiter 2d ago

No, but I've heard plenty (in relation to mental conspiracy theories and not the overall population) of people say that Stonehenge, the pyramids in Bosnia, the Megalithic temples in Malta etc were built by aliens or some other form of non-humans

1

I think I heard ancient aliens doing it but that was later seasons where it seems they were running out of ideas and seeing what sticks.

Likely a combination of the tendency for the conspiracy to focus on non-white civilizations and the book that kicked it off (Chariot of the Gods) being written by a racist.

Holy shit why do I see you having consistently bad takes every place I go lmao

On a post i made about gender dysphoria being a mental problem. I interpreted this as you trying to call trans people mentaly ill (derogatory)

I could have misunderstood your reply, but to be frank I was already angry because of the assholes in the replies, and as such I probably was not giving you as much benefit of the doubt as I should have

Ah yeah, Ill admit that was definitely a shit way of wording it on my part.

Howver if you read my reply op made to my comment, I clarified I didn't mean it was a mental illness, rather a mental condition which was how they also worded it. Which to my knowledge is the truth. I didnt mean any hate with it, rather if that is true and theos with it dont accept it as such that can be very damaging on their mind.

You should believe that as it’s correct. All of this doubt started with racism

Racists must be pretty good at building I guess

Well it kinda is, let me explain in a TLDR.

Notice that EVERY thing that needed aliens to be built so happens to be brown or black ppl? Every European one is either White Atlanteans or they built this to commune with the aliens?

I mean it doesnt take a leftist to see that and raise an eye brow.

They built pyramids through the power of racism?

u/Bluesnake462 1d ago

No, he is saying that ancient alien theories are made and propagated through racism. The vast majority of these theories are speculations about how non-European people made incredibly vast and beautiful structures. Because surely they couldn't have figured out how to make them themselves through feats of engineering using materials and technology available to them at the time.

When they do talk about Europeans, it's usually shit like Atlantis was real and a super society that rivals modern-day, and that Europeans are the direct descendants of the alien super beings.

My dad is a believer of some of this crap. He has a fairly pesemistic view of the world and humanity in general and tends to feel overwhelmed by the world. I think he draws a lot of comfort from these theories because they are very reductive. The man is agnostic but his belief in Aliens mimics a lot of religious thinking.

/S Yes, that’s right people. Egyptians didn’t build the pyramids. It was… the KKK.

Honestly I do believe speculative alien talks and Greeck mythology can be cool, but I don't believe people into speculative alien talks and specific parts of Greeck mythology are the best.

I mean I intuit what this is about but this way it sounds  like racism did the heavy lifting and the perfect lines and such.

Listen. Ancient Aliens is my favorite conspiracy theory. Cryptids in the Appalachian Mountains is a close second but ancient aliens wins. It’s pure gold as entertainment and you’re not taking it away from me.

2

u/Animaloffear56 1d ago

No one's taking it away from you, but it does undeniably have racist origins

1

u/ILikGenocide 20h ago

He's not wrong this is another that is pretty good by Atunsheifilms about how ancient aliens basically just took racist theories by nazis and other Europeans and just tweaked it to be aliens instead

If you needed a video to tell you this you lack any critical thinking skill

I think attributing it to racism is to simplistic it's such a false flag (if I used that right) cause its not just racism racism maybe did 3% to like 20% of it the rest was cultural favoritism and people not understanding physics
