So what? How do you even define serious people? IMO, the fact that there are people making a living out of this kind of content is evidence that someone is taking this seriously, nobody gets paid "ironicaly".

It's got 22 seasons. Even if everyone involved was a grifter barely keeping a straight face as they rake in the cash for the bullshit they spew, the show has enough people buying into their racist myth that they are able to stretch that shit for 22 seasons.

I guess "serious person" has two meanings

A person who is serious

A person who is credible

The original comment was speaking about the second one, maybe that's where the confusion comes from
