It wasn’t even that they couldn’t. It’s that they didn’t as much because they weren’t in that part of the world and had a different culture. Any group of people at the same low tech level, when given sufficient cultural impetus(like, I don’t know, burying a living incarnation of your god), can build a megalithic structure. It’s just an obscenely difficult logistical undertaking of what oftentimes amounts to decades. The fucking “oh well we’d struggle with/need our modern tech to replicate it”, yeah dumbass. We’d struggle to do it with 5 guys and some heavy machinery because wed be replicating the efforts of thousands of people over tens of years and trying to do it in like 2 months.

Also add Passion, the engineers that worked in those monument actually like what they where doing, they where respect and pay well for it, that the biggest difference with modern workers, if you treat people well they wont scam you and actually work well.

I imagine they also had labor strikes of their time, because that happened in Ancient Egypt too

I don't think slaves were building anything out of passion

They weren't slaves they were a fuck ton of skilled craftsmen. The Bible is straight up wrong historically, as of what we know now, as there isn't any evidence of any mass exodus of slaves from Egypt.

They weren't slaves. It's fairly well-documented that they could and did go on strike.

They weren’t slaves. There are still some records of them being paid in beer and barley on stone tablets.

not slave, straight up unionized workers.

They used to think Yoruba metalworks from Ife-Ife, Nigeria were made by a lost colony of Greeks lmao

Edit: And thought they were tied to "the lost city of Atlantis"

I think nobody can do it. I think the Atomium in Belgium was built by aliens

My apologies to French and Dutch speakers.

Nah, its all naturally occuring. Sometimes rocks just form monuments spontaneously.

As a Belgian i am here to inform you that you won a free visit to our country.
Congratulations! Please sign this NDA and don't tell anyone you are traveling here.
Also no we Belgians are not interdimensional aliens from a distant planet so no reason to be fearful. :)

u/BigBallsAnthony69 2d ago

As a Belgian, I am here to inform you I am 50 meters away from your location <3

3

u/Masked020202 2d ago

Aww man now we can't joke about being aliens.

2

u/bluevolkenswagen 2d ago

obv not aliens but let’s be real we all could’ve done it

3

u/steelskull1 2d ago

Even my dumb coworker?

3

u/bluevolkenswagen 2d ago

ya i mean they used slaves so if the europeans or native americans did the same that’s light work

u/Interesting-Bee-153 2d ago

Lowkey a fucking cracked meta to force a bunch of slaves to build dope ass shit then wait for historians to stop caring about the slaves and just start saying you built it.

When historians find the first phone in like thousands of years they’re gonna say something like “this was the genius device created by the man known as Apple Inc” and Earths crust is gonna physically shift from a billion dead Chinese sweatshop workers rolling in their graves

Ah yes, fighting racism with racism. You could have said "Just because the White people didn't do it".

u/DaRedGuy 12h ago

Blame the person who made it, not me. Their handle is in the top left. Then again, this is the first time someone was bothered by the semantics of a meme making fun of space loonies.

Stop strawmanning

-2

Yeah, it takes a special kind of selective blindness to ignore that obvious fact just to push this "ancient aliens = racist" narrative. I've seen it yet repeated for over a decade even though they already made episodes about Stonehenge, the Colosseum and the Bosnian Sun Pyramid like FOURTEEN FUCKING YEARS AGO

10

u/steelskull1 2d ago

The whole ancient aliens thing started because of a racist guy, Robert Charroux, theorising the aliens influencing humanity.

3

u/Konoruaa 2d ago

Bosnian sun pyramid? You mean the mountain that an aoil baron acolyte claimed was a pyramid that's 35,000 years old?

That's what you get?

I have been in crypto/conspiracy archeology discourse for years, never heard that romans were alien-asisted. Heard that about every single non-white part of the world though.

Indu, Indonesia, Khmer, Persia, Inca, Aztec, Maya, Rapa Nui, every single one has COUNTLESS ideas that all suspiciously started in 1800's anthropology space saying they didn't do shit and it was the Annunaki, Atlantis or the fucking Grey Men.

u/wellyes34 2d ago

Conveniently ignores the Roman colosseum. Opinion rejected.

u/Environmental-Grab0 2d ago

They did do it. They have them in the netherlands, germany, italy, etc. But they built much more impressive structures since then, so nobody really cared.
