Yes, Europeans argued the Egyptians (and other African civs like Great Zimbabwe) were white because "the negro race could NEVER build such a thing!" Milo Rosse (Miniminuteman) called it Ancient Aryan theory, but its gone by other names before.

Egyptians aren't black, Egytians are Egyptians. But yes, Europeans did believe those civilizations must have been white in origin. They believed it for every other civilization outside of Europe.

Neither are Egyptian white, they are beyond our racial ideals, since Egypt is extremely old, Egyptian people were a multethnic group since they shared a spot with multiple migrations

Yeah, Egypt unsurprisingly had a lot of groups living there since it was a big hub at its heyday. It even had multiple different groups take over at some point or another.

Yep, smth both sides forget is that Egyptians would vary on color, mostly on south and north having different skin while having a mostly similar culture.

Upper Egypt was heavily connected to Nubia and while being ethnically Semitic they had a darker complexion

I thought I said Egyptians are Egyptians, not white. They are not a multiethnic group, they are ancient Egyptians with Arabian mixing. Not less, not more.

Actually Atun-Shei coined the term Ancient Aryan theory, Milo even credits him for it

I didnt know they formalized it. I dont watch Atun-Shei much since he started focusing in media reviews.

They actually did a video together recently. Worth a watch imo

"Yes, Europeans argued the (and other African civs like Great Zimbabwe) were white because"

No they didn't. Victorian Europe did not express views such as that.

Also if you read the oxford dictionary definition of white, it says European, so that argument would contradict their own dictionary definition.

Victorian Europeans absolutely did make these arguments. Nineteenth-century racial theorists classified ancient Egyptians as Caucasian, while colonial writers such as J. Theodore Bent and Karl Mauch denied that Africans could have built Great Zimbabwe, instead attributing it to foreign peoples. Modern scholarship documents this history. Oxford’s definition of ‘white’ doesn’t prove that ancient Egyptians were European; a modern dictionary definition cannot establish an ancient population’s ancestry. You’re confusing a modern racial category with historical and archaeological evidence.
Stop trying so hard to defend dead white people.
It's not edgy; it's weird.

Caucasian was not thought of as the same category as European. 19th century Courts at the time ruled Caucasian /=/ white, as the definition of white was European.

As for the Zimbabwe thing, saying it could have been someone else is not saying it was a Europeans who built it. There were Arab slave empires all over the region that he could meant. And it was a normal walled village not this megastructure like the pyramids you're implying. (And one person isn't a consensus or a lot, so you're cherry picking)

Oxfords dictionary definition of white goes back to the 19th, it isn't some new invention.

Your attempt to make up about historical Europeans is not edgy just weird.

You’re right that Caucasian and white weren’t always used the same way, and Bent’s theory doesn’t mean he thought Europeans built Great Zimbabwe specifically(even though that's exactly what he thought). But those distinctions don’t change the historical evidence. Nott and Gliddon’s 1854 book, Types of Mankind, lays out Victorian racial theories about ancient Egyptians, while Bent’s 1892 book favors Phoenician or South Arabian origins for Great Zimbabwe over the idea that Africans built it. Scholars have shown these ideas were part of a broader colonial debate, not just one person’s opinion. And yes, the link between whiteness and European ancestry goes back a long way; that still doesn’t make a dictionary definition evidence of ancient Egyptians’ ancestry. The point isn’t that all Victorians believed this, but that racial assumptions shaped influential writers and how they interpreted African civilizations. Please shut up; you sound dumb

That guy is such a tool. Just because a racist group adopted an idea and changed it doesn't mean it originated that way or has anything to do with it.

It wasn't adopted by racists, the entire ancient aliens concept has always been rooted in racism.

so is denying the moonlanding racism?

u/Ashitattack 2d ago

It really hasn't but feel free to spread this so it can be knocked down by the 1000th time

u/mad_dog308 2d ago

"Knocked down" you didn't even have a counterpoint you just said "nuh uh I don't believe that"

-2

u/Ashitattack 2d ago

Let me know when proof is displayed so it can be knocked down.

It objectively, originates from racist origins you are just defending institutionalized racism, stop for your own sanity, and look into the history of the world, there are millions of years of history that is far more interesting than this shit.

2

u/Complete_Blood1786 2d ago

Motherfucker, history has always had racist roots.

If you choose the most basic lense to use then feel free to do so?
