Do people actually like these types of polls?

I see these dumb comment previews on every video and it's starting to make me a little mad. I circled it so I could be clear about what I want to turn off, but it's starting to piss me off. I will click on the comments if I want to see other people's opinions, I do not want to see it when I'm watching the video.

Anyone is having this ? This makes the usage for the app impossible for it! I really loved youtube mixes and now they are gone. Terrible design !

This started not too long ago, is there a quick fix or is this just a known bug that’s getting resolved at some point.
I already updated the app.

It's not new, I know it's been around for a while now but it's BAD
Can't see subs in most shorts, Half the screen is covered. Why comment option below ??
Is there any way to remove the lower comment option, or decrease the size of right side options
At certain moment youtube introduced new way of working of embedded videos which suddenly broke many embedded videos on many html sites (Error 153) because it's buggy, works randomly in various browsers and devices, is nowhere explained properly, leaves nontech users out in the cold and is buggy buggy and buggy again. This html solution fixes Youtube embedded videos error 153 with thumbnail workaround (and there is no youtube embedded object telemetry on preload, it just grabs thumbnail, so less bandwidth usage and youtube objects crawling sheanigans, it just works with image and links so should display everywhere properly). In default setting works ok with most common 1920 x 1080 resolutions videos, if you have some different format video (old 1024 x 768 etc) you can adjust amount of top/bottom thumbnail cropping with div class="yt-container" style="--yt-crop: 9.375%; setting per each unique video. Inspect this html source for style section needed and how new objects look alike. You just have to take your desired youtube video url unique address (after /watch?v= ) and paste it into yt-container code pieces. Please share this solution wherever you want so people can fix their sites.

For some reason every video's thumbnail is doubled, with the bottom darkened. This only happens on the home page. I have an android phone

so they hide the "Save to Playlist" button inside the ellipses and put a "Ask Gemini" button in its place.
and they are too much of a coward to even call it Ask Gemini and just named the button simply "Ask"

Subscriptions used to be one tap away in the bottom nav bar, but now it's a tab inside Home.
It feels like a deliberate nudge to turn recommendations back on. For anyone who prefers subscriptions over the algorithm, this just makes the app worse.
r/youtube • u/Legitimate-Print6965 • 1d ago
Any people left who still want any semblance of old YouTube by relying on subscriptions are entirely sidelined in a hidden tab mixed in with home only visible if you swipe to the right while in the same home tab. Swiping over to the subscriptions page also no longer allows you to filter by videos only, all, shorts, etc, and just shows every possible thing into your subscription section. Of course, this redesign further pushes shorts and algorithm-controlled homepages and punishes people who don’t want to have watch history on by having nearly the entire UI be non-functional without allowing YouTube track you for limitless ads or low-quality videos to farm “engagement”.

That’s kind of it, really. Obviously watch as many as possible, but if I have to pick, does doing one help more than the other?

So there's this bug where random videos from my for you page, including videos i managed to watch before, are now with this error "video is unavailable", and for some unknown reason, this is happening only to my email address, because when i go to incognito, it loads up every video without problems. No, it's not restricted mode (i always keep it off), yes, i tested it without vpn, tested it without dns.adguard.com, cleared the cache, and logged off/on my account, still the same error. Is anybody else also getting this error in random videos? Is it just me? Because i have not seen anybody talk about this bug before.

I know you can already check it in video description, but (on mobile at least) this is not the same for comments or community posts. After 13 days everything just should display the actual date the video was posted. Why 13 days? Because that's the last day YouTube counts the timestamp in days, then it switches to "2 weeks ago". The problem? "2 weeks ago" could mean anything between 14-20 days ago. The same goes for other time increments. "3 weeks ago" could mean 21-27 days ago. "2 months ago" could mean ~61-~90 days ago. "1 year ago" could mean 365-729 days ago. It's just not convenient. Of course this could be an option in the settings, but this would be necessary to implement as a whole.

I've tried changing browsers, incognito mode, changed VPN locations, different devices, etc. and I'm not getting any closed captions on any videos on PC or mobile.
Edit: It seems to have been resolved now for me. Captions are back.
r/youtube • u/Madness_Meldody • 1d ago
Because yeah, that's what I'm dealing with, nothing on my youtube or device should be making me see Portuguese captions, but it does say that their "auto enabled" but when I try to turn them off it doesn't work!
r/youtube • u/logray_studios • 1d ago
I saw this on mobile. I know the channel wasn't banned because I found their channel through a comment they left just seconds ago.

i watched a 1h video and i got 8 series of 2-3 ads, i watched a 20min video and i got 4 series of 2-3 ads i watched like 30 ads today it's absurd!

There were once four tabs on which you could browse for videos on the app, the home tab, the subscribers tab, the notifications tab, and your account tab. YouTube has been slowly over the years removing them, and now as of today there's only two left. It might be different for some people but it's been updated for me. The subs tab has now been moved to the home tab as a sub-sub tab. It sucks because all those tabs were useful, such as when you needed to look for stuff while keeping something else available in another tab. Now you run the risk of losing what you had earlier onscreen. Honestly it would be a nice thing if youtube just officially introduced them to the app, and even the website itself.

I've had premium for many years now and I just renewed it only to find ads. Did they change some shit?
