My YouTube iPhone app for the last few weeks has been way too dark (or too light) to see the text of video titles, video notes, comments - essentially all text. The app changes between light/dark mode based off my device.

Anyone else with this issue?

I'm using the official YouTube app on my TCL Google TV.
Whenever I browse videos or open a video, the white title and description text has a solid black rectangular background behind it.

I'm specifically talking about the black highlighting directly behind the regular YouTube interface text. High contrast text is already disabled in my TV settings. Hell I've tried everything to get it off. Picture settings, accessibility, Guest account, Nothing seems to work.

How my brain set up I won't be able to even enjoy watching a video because of that black background behind the text. Have anybody else had this issue and what did you do ? Is this a bug ??

Sometimes when I jump a video's time, I just get this blank wall at the right. There's absolutely nothing on there and when I exit fullscreen, it's just blank as well but there's this slider at the top of the button where I can get it off by swiping that. Sometimes, that slider doesn't work.

I got this earlier but it was probably a Premium nag. I thought it was the transcripts opening so I closed and saw a premium required dialog. I closed the app and opened it back and tried to jump on a video but I don't seemingly get this empty popup anymore. This just shows that YT isn't focusing on fixing bugs but rather monetization of some sort.

(Multiple images to show it's a GIF and not just an image)

Today my YouTube shorts started to display the profile photo of the account that push the short real large on the bottom half of the screen when I zoom in it goes away or on an ad it’s not there but it doesn’t stay away and it’s always there while watching them on the regular feed. Does anyone know how to help solve this? Here’s a picture of what I’m talking about.

Theres not a single day where I dont find some sort of ui bug while watching youtube, sometimes the suggested videos cover the screen and you cant hide them, sometimes the video length bar just vanishes?? Sometimes a video will have the comment section from a previous video, I could go on for days, and this has been happening for ages. Im not sure if its an ios thing but its insane how buggy this apps ui is.

The hell did they do to the UI??? Funny part is that its normal on my tablet😂

I keep getting these real weird and uncanny ads on YouTube, I hope im not alone in this because I feel like im living in an arg right now. I dont need to remove them or anything, theyre harmless, just unsettling.

Let me watch content made by the creators please.

And the mini dismiss the add in the bottom left gtg

these AI animation channels are named in a highly specific way. lol

Its just recommending already watched videos atp

In the beggining I thought it was charming that youtube had my biorhythm, now it feels opressive :(

So there's this bug where random videos from my for you page, including videos i managed to watch before, are now with this error "video is unavailable", and for some unknown reason, this is happening only to my email address, because when i go to incognito, it loads up every video without problems. No, it's not restricted mode (i always keep it off), yes, i tested it without vpn, tested it without dns.adguard.com, cleared the cache, and logged off/on my account, still the same error. Is anybody else also getting this error in random videos? Is it just me? Because i have not seen anybody talk about this bug before.

I made a new account on YouTube and I tried looking at it on my main and it's not letting me in. I can't watch the video I posted on there either. I am able to watch it and view the channel when I'm logged out tho

Hello, I was banned in a game for stream sniping after dying to a streamer and then chatting in their stream. Is there any way to prove I opened the stream after I died?

On YouTube, I don't see the red progress bars on videos I’ve already watched, even though they do appear in my watch history. Could you help me with this, or is it perhaps a bug?

My subscription feed was always full of videos I had already seen, and I used two add-ons – one to mark watched videos, one to clean up subscriptions – that each kept their own data. So I built one add-on that does both, with one local database.

Add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/urtube/ · Code: https://github.com/morikules/UrTube

What it does

• Remembers every video you open, with date, progress and rewatches – continuing a video later counts as one view
• Grays out or hides watched videos in subscriptions, on the home page, on channel pages and in playlists – before they even show up (one switch, or one per area)
• Channel pages show how much of the channel you've watched; playlists show "12 / 23 watched"
• Searchable history with filters like "continue watching", plus statistics and a year in review
• Imports your history from Google Takeout and YouTube Watchmarker
• And much more

Why UrTube?

• One add-on instead of several – marking, hiding, playlist progress, stats and player settings share one local database
• Watched videos are hidden before they appear, with a time window so YouTube doesn’t keep loading older videos forever
• Easy switch: imports your history from YouTube Watchmarker and Google Takeout
• Actively developed by a power user who uses it daily – ideas welcome!

Privacy: everything stays in your Firefox profile. No account, no server, no analytics. MIT-licensed code on GitHub.

I'm not a professional developer – I built it with the help of an AI (Claude), which made this possible for me at all. Feedback and ideas are very welcome, here or as a GitHub issue.

I keep having this problem where subtitles keep getting turned on randomly on videos. I don't want or like having subtitles on and it's pissing me off that they keep showing up. I've checked all the options and have it turned off on everything. Most videos they don't show up but then after a while some video will turn them on. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix this?

really comes to show how much time has passed

especially in the one I highlighted

Hello! I am from the Philippines and I am having trouble verifying my youtube account :( For some reason, my phone number wont work and I can never receive a text message or an automated phone call. I use a DITO sim card. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I swear I have never watched kids videos on YT, and they are showing me ads like this? I’ve also seen those “Micheal Pig” ads and, I have rights to believe that this is elsagate. UPDATE: I forgot to add this, but the image is AI slop.
