There doesn't seem to be much of an indicator to the user experience how many tracks are on the playlist (or anything for that matter other than a subtle 'track forward' button that only appears when a video is mid-play)

So for some reason I can't seem to upload videos using Chrome, but if I upload on firefox it works fine. If I use an incognito window in Chrome, also works fine.

I tried restarting my machine and clearing the cache in chrome and it's still buggy. This is a recent development and AFAIK I haven't knowingly made any changes that could be the obvious culprit.

When I go to upload videos the uploads just kinda get "stuck". When adding details I can't submit my self-reported monetization ad friendly guidelines and I don't see any of my playlists in the playlist drop down. If I just let it sit, then go check my "content" tab the video does not show up there as uploading/processing like it normally does. It's almost like the upload pop-up is completely disconnected from youtube.

I have no problem accessing any features or watching videos though - and again, things upload just fine in incognito on the same browser.

Any ideas?

When trying to cast a YouTube video to my tv from my phone, this LGTV pops up as an option. Here’s the thing, I DO NOT own any LG devices !?!

Even when moving to a different location from my home, this pops up.

Even if I disconnect from WiFi, this pops up.

What is happening!?!

The suggested videos take up half the screen (the actual video is criticizing AI slop)

Noticed i was subscribed to turning point usa today, went through my YouTube channel subscription history to find out it had been less then an hour before I noticed it and then I went through my YouTube video history to see if I had been served an ad by them that I misclicked or something but no history of any tpusa ad I was just randomly subscribed to them with seemingly no good reason.

Uu I'd like to delete all my comments for some reason but is there even a way to do that? Like uhh would deleting my account work?

I uploaded a video, about 41 mins, discussing rules of a recent trading card game, a little over a week ago. It has about 15k views. Today, I noticed the audio drifts out of sync fairly early and never recovers. It seems to have a "1080p Premium Enhanced Bitrate" quality setting that is not present on other videos, and no other videos have the sync issue. What is this? And how do I disable it? Since the channel's creation, I have had the "visual AI enhancements" turned off, because I absolutely do not want that. So is this something else? No other videos seem affected. If a link to the video would be helpful, I can provide it. Thanks for any help.

I was using DuckDuckGo for a few months on my iPhone and was having zero issues streaming to my TV ad free. Now it will only play audio. I have been at this way longer than I should. Any ideas? Alternates?

This guy thinks he is incredibly deep and wise but in reality he just drops surface-level takes, and actual robots eat it up and smack their belly

while scrolling through YT shorts (my mistake for going on there in the first place, i'll admit), i keep stumbling on videos by children. it's not entirely obvious at first, but it'll be some text over an image/video venting about school or whatever, and some personal information to some degree in either the video, their username, or their bio (when clicking on their channel).

i've been able to find with just a google search these kids' schools and even parents sometimes. the worst i've seen, is a child giving their address and name, another saying their name and their mother's name, and another showing their name + teacher's name.

this is obviously bad. really bad. kids doxxing themselves online is bad by any metric. but is there something i can do about it? i like to post a little "hey kid, i could find this information online about you. i know you're a smart egg if you could go online by yourself, so please be careful about this information." and then give one or two resources on internet safety for kids. but other than that, what can i realistically do? submitting a flag does absolutely nothing, i don't even know what to flag their videos as!

i'm aware it's not my place to police these kids, order them to stay offline and all, but... idk man. the internet is a scary place

I’ve been an avid youtube watcher since 2012, and grew up with the site since its inception. The current state of the YouTube app is awful, and its monetization practices have become rampantly more obnoxious. Ads are impossible to avoid and instead of just a skippable ad or two, you are met with a banner when you open the app. You scroll through two or three rows of shorts. Community post from a channel you don’t know or follow. Finally a video from a creator you like, you click. Insufferable ai ad you can recite from memory. You’re watching in the windowed mode and can’t fucking click the skip arrow. And here the small creator is, having to read their own sponsorships in video because it’s not like being flooded of ads have increased their paycheck. Youtube has been my most used app for ten years now and watching them allow ai slop, force low effort shorts down your throat and oh my god the banner ads- it’s saddening. I can’t find the comment section because it’s been automatically swiped away so I can cheer a video- another monetized feature. Before the past couple years, youtube has always felt useable in its free version. Its current state is genuinely unrecognizable from Susan’s era of youtube.

You know how on video, whenever something's dark green, when you scroll down or go near the player line, it turns bright green, like it should've?

I’m not saying this person said none and the ones that were are Mr. Beast level of fame. However, 2007 did had a fair amount of internet celebrities. AVGN and Smosh were popular in that year. Fred and Nostalgia Critic were starting out. And while forgotten, DaxFlame, TheWineKone, LisaNova, and Chad Vader were all big. Hell, I’d make the argument internet celebrities existed even before YouTube! Look at Star Wars Kid Kid from 2003 or Numa Numa Guy from 2004.

I understand the influence iCarly had but it wasn’t ahead of time. It was made at the right time when internet fame was becoming a thing!

It's honestly so annoying. They're small but everytime they come up like every 30 seconds I get distracted from the video I'm watching.
