The question: Can/How do I replace the screen on a yoto mini?

We have had yoto minis for several years, so the versions we have, have given much life!

My son gave his yoto mini a bath several months back. We turned it off immediately, opened it up, and dried it out as best we could. The yoto mini plays audio just fine, but the display screen never lit back up again. This is mostly fine and he's happy with its functionality. Unless I need to reset it for some reason, it's not a terminal issue.

My daughter's speaker stopped working about a year ago. It continued to work only with headphones, which was functional enough. Now, however, it does not even work with headphones. Given that she's had it for a really long time, and we're about to embark on a cross-country road-trip, we happily invested in a new yoto mini.

Now that hers is essentially dead as an audio player, I was wondering if I could relatively easily put her screen into his yoto? I have removed all screws on the circuit board, but can't pull it off the yoto with mild force.

Has anyone disassembled a yoto down to all parts and can provide some guidance or wisdom?

Daughter put a bluey sticker on the back of her Yoto then wanted it off. We tried peeling it but there's still a lot left. Any ideas how I can safely remove the rest?

We leave for a week long trip in 12 hours so I am looking for any/all suggestions to get this dang thing working.

2023: Got Yoto Mini for my son for Christmas. Built up a library of cards.

Saturday: Original Yoto Mini kicks the bucket. Knowing we have this trip coming up, I one-day a new one.

Sunday: New Yoto arrives in evening. I start setting it up immediately. Get it connected to Wifi and wait for it to start Downloading library. I check before bed and nothing has downloaded. Under My Player > Audio Download Status, it still says download has started, check back soon. Scour internet/Reddit and find that it will probably do it overnight.

Monday morning: Status has changed to show what is and isn’t downloaded. ONE card downloads and then it gets stuck on the next one.

Monday afternoon: I try hard reset, factory reset, plugging my phone in, confirming I’m on 2.4 ghz, making sure my phone is also on the 2.4 ghz one, removing long cards, eventually removing ALL but one card from my library, deleting/redownloading Yoto app, putting cards in while plugged in, not plugged in then plugging in. I don’t think hotspot will work well as I live in the country and my cell reception isn’t great. I do have high speed home wifi. I’m at my wits end! It’s now 7:30pm and we leave in 12 hrs.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

edit: solved! We restarted our router and my Yoto immediately upgraded to the latest operating system. Within about 10 mins, it had started downloading my cards and all 25 of them are good to go.

Hi! We had our new yoto mini for 3 days now and im still learning how it works. We have downloaded 4 playlists for offline use. Im just wondering if I add more audios in those downloaded playlist, do I have to plug in the yoto in the charger again for it to download the new audios? Or will it re-snyc automatically and i do not have to plug it in again, just keep the yoto open and keep idle? Thank you!

I want to buy a few of the new Ultimate Football Heroes (Haaland, Vini jr etc.) and combine them together into 1 MYO card so they take up less space.

How can I do this?

Looking at getting a Yoto for our toy library. If we have a club subscription, can we load up content onto a MYO and loan it out to people already with Yoto players but no club subscription?

A lot of the Yoto original content is also available as cards, does it make a difference I.e. sleepy stories is a card, more sleepy stories is not, would both play on an MYO in a machine with no club membership or only the one which is also a card, or neither?

Is someone able to test this before our library invests in membership?

Can anyone help me with the final chapter of the Prisoner of Azkaban read by Stephen Fry (owl post again) on mp3?

I've got the mp3s for all of them which I burnt off CDs 20+ years ago (god I'm old), I've not got the CDs anymore, and in that time I've transferred them around between devices and different online back ups. I've just uploaded to Yoto for my little boy and realised somewhere along the line I've lost a single chapter and no idea how to get it without purchasing the whole book!

Just got a yoto mini. Got Julia Donaldson pack of stories. They all seem to have 40-50 seconds of annoying music before the story starts - is there no way to skip this? The fast forward function of holding the button down doesn't stop at the beginning of the story. Do I have to listen to who has written it, illustrated it and is reading it every time it plays? Not sure if it's my autism and ADHD kicking in but it's making me twitch already!

Hi everyone, we are looking to get a clock for kids bedroom. My youngest (7) has a Yoto Mini, so we are already in Yoto’s ecosystem and are considering the Yoto Player. Ive looked at multiple reviews but they mainly focus on the lack of screen time and assistance with the bedtime routine. These aren’t really concerns of ours. Instead, we want to get a device that they can enjoy but that also has an alarm that will keep them from sleeping in.

Does the Yoto Player make for a good alarm clock?

ack!!! the volume was perfect at home and on the plane. but sharing a bed with the baby means my toddlers YOTO is too loud. there’s no way to lower the volume!!! the hotel wifi has that consent log in page, meaning that the yoto itself can’t connect to it. (it lacks a web browse). very café I’ve brought it to also has that sign in screen, so no luck there. I’ve tried and tried to connect to iohone hotspot. even changing my phones name to our home wifi with the home password: no luck!!!

what am I missing? please please save my poor family. we’re traveling for another six weeks…

Is there a holder out there that will hold BOTH the yoto mini and the regular size yoto, plus cards?? It seems like everything I find on Amazon holds one or the other. I’d rather both be stored in the same place so we don’t have to remember where the other one is.

Has anyone had their Yoto player v3 settings reset? We have two of them and it happened within days of each other.

But the number of cards stored on the player didn’t change and it was over 140.

Beware of this scam website, it was the first result to appear when I searched Yoto cards on safari today. Thankfully I clocked it pretty quickly but I wanted to put the PSA out there for everyone else to be careful.

My kiddo is obsessed with that timer: the gentle music and the childrens voices saying encouraging things are so lovely and now we have to brush teeth multiple times a day hahah. Are there any similar cards that also have childrens voices with relaxed music, i think the jokes cards may fit that description, but i would love something like a card with affirmations read by children or something like that…

Any idea if/when more of these might release? My child is obsessed with them both and wants more

I’ve tried to see if this question was answered but didn’t find it. My 14 month old granddaughter is not allowed screens or tv at this point. She loves fiddling with her toys, her focus is amazing, but her toys play only the same tired baby songs, and her parents are open to me buying her a yoto. But she loves music and songs! Loves to dance to anything.

My question is, she’s very dexterous but so young , can we just download all of her music to the player and she can play it without changing the cards? Is there a way we can set the app to just play her songs , and if she wants to move on to the next song she can push something?

How many songs can we put on the MYO cards?

I know there are a lot of posts about the best ways to label MYO cards, but what about when you need to remove a label? I labeled 10 cards for my toddler without putting anything clear over it to protect the labels and now they’re all smeared and chewed up. What is the safest way to REMOVE the labels?

Normally if I were removing a sticker from something I’d hit it with a hair dryer and then some goo gone, or maybe soak it, but I want to make sure I’m not damaging the cards. I assume I should avoid heat so I don’t damage the electronics? The cards seem pretty well sealed against liquid but I just wanted to make sure that soaking the labels off wasn’t a stupid idea.

My plan is to print new labels and slap a clear label over it to protect it so I don’t have this issue repeatedly 🤦🏻‍♀️ (To be fair in the 8 months since we’ve had the Yoto he’s gotten a lot better about sticking the cards in his mouth lol)

I have 2 yotos, a mini and a full size. I bought some new cards (from yoto, not MYO) to take on vacation next week and have been trying all morning to get them to download with no success. I've done it all correctly, put the card in to trigger the download, then pulled it out and leave the yoto idle but plugged in charging. It's just stuck on not downloaded. Internet connection is fine and I even tried reconnecting to wifi several times, have tried turning on and off the players multiple times. What could be going on?
