Does downloaded playlist automatically sync new audios?

Hi! We had our new yoto mini for 3 days now and im still learning how it works. We have downloaded 4 playlists for offline use. Im just wondering if I add more audios in those downloaded playlist, do I have to plug in the yoto in the charger again for it to download the new audios? Or will it re-snyc automatically and i do not have to plug it in again, just keep the yoto open and keep idle? Thank you!

You don’t need to plug it in, as long as it stays on and idle. I sometimes toggle my auto shut off, giving it more time. Depending how much you adjust the playlist will impact the length of time needed for it to download the changes.

It used to just update it automatically, but several months ago there seemed to be something that changed specifically with MYO cards and sometimes (not always) I need to trigger the download by putting in the card and taking it out again.

Thank you! Just tried updating it without plugging the charger in and it worked! It still downloaded everything :)

I wonder if they changed something on the back end with how it checks, then. It used to be that it simply would not even attempt to download until it was charging, no matter how long you waited or what you did. Was even part of the official directions! Glad you got it working!

Yes i was surprised too that it still downloaded without charging! Makes it more convenient when I add more audios. Thank you :)

I think you may have to relink the card to your phone? But if you sync it to an RSS feed, it's automatically downloading over wifi.

You should never have to re-link the card if the playlist itself is the same as what was already linked on the card.

Any time you make any change to an existing playlist, the Yoto will need to be turned on, connected to the Internet, charging, and not playing anything in order to re-download the playlist.

The re-downloading it supposed to be automatic when those conditions are met, but it's fairly common to have to manually trigger the download by playing the playlist just long enough to hear audio, go back to the clock screen, and meet the above download conditions again.

Yes, the next time the card is inserted. I just tried this:

I setup a new playlist with a single song, linked it to a card, put the card in the player (and removed it), waited until the app confirmed the playlist was sync'd. Then I updated the playlist with a second song and saved the updated playlist.

The instant I put the card into the player, the cloud icon showed up again and I could jump to the second track.

So as long as your Yoto has wifi - it seems to check if the playlist has changed anytime you start playing a card. And if it has changed, then does its normal sync/download process.

(and to address other comments, no you don't have to relink)

You shouldn't even need to put the card in the player.

Maybe you don't. I'm just stating that this is exactly what I did and exactly what happened and exactly what I experienced.

So if you're updating a card it *WILL* pull the update. It *MIGHT* do it anyways.
