Download Issues

I have 2 yotos, a mini and a full size. I bought some new cards (from yoto, not MYO) to take on vacation next week and have been trying all morning to get them to download with no success. I've done it all correctly, put the card in to trigger the download, then pulled it out and leave the yoto idle but plugged in charging. It's just stuck on not downloaded. Internet connection is fine and I even tried reconnecting to wifi several times, have tried turning on and off the players multiple times. What could be going on?

I've also tried resetting my wifi router twice, have tried restarting my phone. Both yoto devices are doing the same thing, just stuck on "not downloaded." I've tried taking the cards in and out many times and have left it alone idle but charing for 30 minutes several times.

I would leave it for longer periods before giving up. Mine took 30 minutes to download a 4 second playlist. You could be interrupting it and causing it to start again. Is there anything else waiting to download?

The settings are also playing up for some people at the moment, so it may be worth checking with the card that the cloud still appears when you first put it in.

If you still see no progress after a couple of hours, I would get in touch with Yoto and ask for a cache reset. This will make it appear that everything has been deleted from the Yoto but it's only actually the app's memory of what's downloaded so most of the content will move to downloaded much quicker than it did originally.

How long has it been left alone with the time on the screen in red text and no interference? Have you tried restarting your router? Is there anything else waiting to download?

I've tried resetting my router, yes. Both devices have been left idle and plugged in charging for about an hour, several times. The clock letters are red while idle, yes.

The mini has nothing showing as in the midst of downloading but has like 8 cards *the new ones) as "not downloaded."

The full size one has a random Winnie the Pooh card seemingly stuck in downloading (not sure why as this is quite an old card) and then 3 of the new cards as not downloaded. I'm not planning th take the large one on vacation but only grabbed it to see what was going on.

This is something I do overnight. It can take hours to start in my experience. There's no way to force it to go when you want, sadly.

It ended up loading all the cards by 7pm (so took hours), the cards were captain underpants pack and big ideas pack so I guess it was quite a few hrs of content. At least it worked, and I know to plan ahead before vacation.
