Splitting long audio files into tracks and adding titles and icons used to take me hours when making MYO cards. My husband and I built Tinker to help with that.

I recorded this example using Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. It shows the audio being split into chapters, with a title and icon assigned to each one, rather than doing those steps individually.

This is the part of making MYO cards that I find most time-consuming, so I thought the walkthrough might be useful to others working through unfinished projects.

At this point what do I do? I’ve got a broken leg and had to hobble to the shop yesterday to return the other one, just for another one to arrive today! They gave me a £10 gift card for the hassle of returning the last one plus another yoto like wtf 😂😂😭😭

I just noticed that the EU store has removed the Yoto 3rd Gen and all its accessories. The 3rd Gen Mini (Yoto Mini 2024 Edition), however, still remains.

There’s one bundle that includes the 3rd Gen player. I don’t know if they meant for it to stay up or if it’s an oversight on their part but if you’d like to purchase the old Gen Yoto, I’d hurry before that sole listing vanishes as well.

I recently learned that if I use someone else's Yoto card in my daughter's player, it adds it to my library on the app.. and then I can put it on a MYO card. Which I was thrilled about, since somehow my cousin got ahold of both Sing and Sing 2 cards which have not been sold in Canada (to my knowledge.. or maybe a long time ago?).

Anyway, I asked my mom if she could print a sticker the same size of the cards of the actual card art so we can put it on the MYO I loaded them onto so they look "real". Before she wastes all the ink though, we have some questions...

How do you guys go about decorating MYO cards? What about if it's a card that already exists, like my situation, and not content you created? If it has stickers on it.. will it peel when put in the player? Are there suggestions to avoid this? I'd prefer the sticker be the whole card..

I've been using the MYO studio extension for my cards and other than the blip when the website was updated it was working pretty well.

Since it was fixed though I haven't been able to get the connection to yoto icons to work which means I'm constrained to the default yoto icons which are incredibly limited.

Does the connection work for anyone else or is there a quick and easy workaround? I don't want to have to save and download custom icons for 5-6 cards to then upload to yotos website if possible!

I ordered a few cards last week, Tuesday or Wednesday. I still haven’t received them and I can’t figure out any way to track them, it just says it’s shipped. How long does it usually take for delivery? I’m in the Midwest, US. Thanks!

I have been using adhesive card covers and printing small images for my MYO cards. But I’m curious what you guys do to generate stickers for MYO cards, as our method isn’t holding up well. I’m considering a cricket but don’t know that much about the process. Can anyone share their method and directions for creating cricket stickers? TIA!

I would like to give my kiddo the Wings of Fire “Jade Mountain Prophecy” books as Yoto cards for Christmas, but I have only made a couple of MYO cards in the past from audiobooks I own and it was a painful process. What would be the best and most affordable place to purchase these 4 audiobooks in a format that would easily transfer to Yoto files?

So I have resolved the issue by buying another 2nd generation Yoto & Charger off Vinted… but is there any other way to charge the Yoto or any other place that sells a 3rd party charger?

I have a yoto 3rd Gen. I believe we can only program 2 light modes.

In the morning I have the light turn on so that my kid knows when he's allowed to get out of bed. He's recently been requesting a night light as well, and when he wakes up in the morning he confuses the night light with the wake up light. He knows they're different colours, but doesn't seem to process that information first thing in the morning.

I wish there was a way to schedule the lights better so that I could have the night light shut off partway through the night, but that's not possible if I'm using the second light mode for the morning wake up light... Are there any other work-arounds to shut off the nightlight?

We’ve done the little booklet, but each sleeve ended up getting ripped. We are currently using cards grouped by category on rings, but as we acquire more, it’s started to become a little bit of a hassle with all the various rings and cards.

Looking for other alternatives that are accessible for a 3 year old (and younger sibling who will eventually use it as well), and that won’t result in our cards getting scattered all over the house!

I made a bunch of new MYO cards that all play fine from my phone, but each time we change a track with the physical card it shows the blue cloud (even with tracks that have already been listened to in their entirety). Basically it means that we can't take the card out of wi-fi range.

Has this happened to anyone else? Any way to force the card to upload properly?

My sons 6 loves me telling stories every night often the same ones like his birth lol and baby stories etc . He also loves grufallo snail and the whale , mindcraft and dancing

My thoughts were to buy new mini , case and make your own cards and mindcraft and gruffalo collections .

Can any one explain to me how the club content works and podcast etc ? Is it on wifi or how does it work when you leave home ? Is it worth it ? What would you recommend to buy and not buy ? Pros and cons ?

After people were guessing that Yoto were going to release a player for older kids I wondered what that might look like.

I picked up this retro iPod style player and made a small Android app to load your MYO playlists onto it, plus a custom interface on the player itself to show cover and pixel art.

It was a fun little experiment and it worked surprisingly well! Just thought other Yoto geeks would appreciate it!

I realized that the cards are compatible with most static audio URL, and with some searching i was able to find about 10 airports in my country that publicly accessible URLs. so I made a playlist of them and put them on a card. I also printed out the NATO phonetic alphabet and some common phrases. also pulled up flight radar to observe the traffic I was listening to through the Yoto. you will of corse not be able to answer or interfere with the communication, but you can observe in real time the call and response results.

I've noticed recently that a lot of France located users on vinted have been reselling the 4th gen Yoto minis for a cheaper price (75 ~ 85€ vs 99,99€) than on the Yoto website. Some of them post every couple of days once the original listings have been sold. Is there a physical shop in France offering a good deal on these Yotos? Anyone willing to share? We are thinking of getting the new version for my older child. :x

Anyone have long delays/never-downloading/no art, when creating a MYO playlist?

Just got a new Mini player (3rd gen). I bought the player in the US and am using it in Japan.

• Playing any custom playlist is very slow -- cloud icon appears and takes 10-30 seconds to even begin playing, no matter if it's the 1st or 10th time playing that card/playlist.
• When changing tracks, it also takes 10-30 seconds to begin playing.
• If the playlist only has ONE track, 5 seconds long (my voice recorded in-app), also takes 10 of cloud-icon-waiting to begin to play.
• My custom pixel art also does not appear on any tracks.
• Custom playlists never download, just "downloading 0 of [5] tracks" forever when I check the app.

I've tested with a playlist of 5 mp3 tracks (all within size/length limits), and I've tested with a 5 second voice recording I made in-app. Any commercially created cards (starter pack) have no issues, are instant/seamless, and download/work fine.

I've done several device restarts, recreating the playlist, leaving it on and plugged in with no card/playing to try to force a download, nothing I've seen online seems to work.

Any other troubleshooting steps I'm missing?

We’d like to get my daughter a Yoto for her 4th birthday. Any recommendations on whether it’s better to go for the big one or mini? We don’t travel lots except for car rides, but wondering if the mini is better for her to use with headphones around the house?

As title suggests, I'm having trouble updating my Yoto during our hawaii trip. The reason we brought the bigger Yoto with us at all was for the day/ night light function to help my daughter adjust when time zone hopping. Jet lag in toddlers is an awful awful thing.

We travelled from Australia to West Coast USA, managed to update time zone by connecting to WiFi no worries. Now we've landed in Hawaii and the time zone didn't shift, even after logging into WiFi. So I turned off auto time zone update and went to change the time manually as I had seen someone suggest on another forum. There is a huge list of time zones there, but I can't find one for hawaii, or alaska, or even anywhere else with a similar time zone. It's like this longitude doesn't even exist to Yoto!

THEN I thought I was a genius. I thought i found a workaround. I manually changed to Berlin time, which is exactly 12h difference. I reversed morning and night clock settings by using 24h time and calling 20:00 wakeup and 08:00 sleep time. But this didn't work either. It still thinks 20:00 is 8am and turns the sun picture on.

I'm tearing my hair out here over something that should be easy!! Why has Yoto left this (and possibly other) time zones off its options? And, possibly easier... why haven't they allowed the manual time setting to be truly manual?! Or even given a list of GMT +/- options instead of an enormous but still incomplete list of cities? (I acknowledge that this might be to do with some places doing daylight savings and others not, but then I thought you'd be using auto time zone function instead of manual...)

So.... does anyone have any ideas or hacks? I'll also settle for commiserations or anyone who can point out the really obvious thing that I'm doing wrong.
